I unpacked the new engine and it has the same old number. Waiting for the heart transparent to happen. Will get the bike back on Monday. Old engine is being sent back to the factory for further analysis.]
Excellent. I was indeed expecting a follow up from your side regarding the engine replacement. Now that you've got your new engine, I'd suggest you to check for the correct oil level before and after a few kilometers of this engine installation. Keep us posted on how the vehicle performs, and try not to wring its neck from the word go.

    Keep us abreast.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

If it's better than the Activa I'm going to convince my parents to buy this SR150. They don't like the extra fat rear of the Activa/Maestro so hopefully they'll agree. Looking forward to book it at the end of this month. Cheers!

Haha... Surely... One thing I might rope in is that if ur looking for a family commuter.... Then consider a Vespa sxl..... Ur gonna be subject to backaches and shoulder numbness with the Aprilia.... Performance vs practicality.... The Vespa performs well too.... Same engine... Relaxed clutch variator components.... So more smoother.... The aprilia has a clutch setup similar to Malossi aftermarket performance parts.

We did consider the Vespa but my mom doesn't seem to like the looks of it. I'll let you guys know what we decide in a week or two. Thanks for the help buddy!

Got my SR150 serviced today at 777.77kms. Total charges for 1st free service were Rs 275.00. Funny thing they said that a test ride of about 22km was taken. This they said is recommended by the company being a new vehicle. They also reimbursed the petrol but I highly doubt it and the test ride thing. Has anybody else's vehicle too was taken for a "test ride". The service and general experience was no better than experienced at other service centers.
              One life to ride....

Please do not take this "test ride" lightly, take up the matter with the supervisor/head engineer in writing if the test ride is that long and what exactly was checked during the test ride, try if there is anything mentioned in the service manual or procedures about this. Shoot an email to Aprilia if you don't get a proper response. Make sure you have enough proof of the actual test ride of 22kms they have taken. Under no circumstances should the bike under service be taken out for any ride without your approval.

Most of the mechanics and service personnel in the ASC redline the bikes and scooters without mercy and that is one reason why I always insist on me handing over and test riding it myself. The last thing I would want is the monkeys abusing the bike and worst of all getting into any incident involving the bike.

I have a question for you Kesav, do they provide exhausts for our motorcycles like CBR250 and Dukes, genuine Akrapovic and any other brands that you can throw some light on? Nonetheless glad to see Coimbatore upping the ante and slowly climbing the performance ladder.

                    Cheers!

I have done about 470 kms and recently I noticed an issue. When I am pushing the scooter back i hear this squeaky sound from the rear wheel. Same sound comes when i ride for about 8-10 kms and close the throttle. Informed the guys during the first service but I am still getting it. Anyone facing this issue?

Could be either brakes or bearings.... How's the sound once the engine warms up?

Could be the bearings I presume. A service diagnosis would be necessary. Take it to the svc ASAP.
