Thanks! would really appreciate your suggestions..
Some kind of disc /wheel locks from ABUS or similar manufacturers would suffice.

Try ones from Xena! nothing beats them when it comes to disk locks. it equipped with alarm as well. Check out youtube for further details. They might be expensive though.

Thanks for the suggestion, I was thinking of 200 but then I am sold on D390 for its looks. 250 looks the middle man for me right now.
I also got to carry a pillion sometime so that's again a bigger dilemma. I am going to get a really longish test ride with pillion as well to make sure everything is fine.
Well no bike fits all of our criteria's I m just looking for one which can tick most of boxes in my list.
        ....
Go for gs if you can budget for that sort of riding and especially pillion possibility.

One of my friends took a ride behind me on 390 and was very unhappy whenever I opened the throttle due to surge.

I get thrown behind in rider seat, wonder what would be riding a pillion.

I couldn't find an indian site for the same; I assume they're not prevalent in India then?

            Good to hear that....
Good news for you if the below news is true. Check and confirm with the dealer once.

BMW G310R, G310GS discounts have been announced. Thanks to low sales, year end discounts of up to Rs 70,000 have been announced.

Could be that its end of the year so they offering discounts.

            Cheers

Indeed. XENA locks are heavy and they are EXTREMELY LOUD enough to wake the entire neighborhood. They are an expensive proposition here in India. I'd recommend you to definitely consider disc locks for peace of mind. Alternatively you can also check out ROOTS or XENOS motorcycle anti-theft system with remote, they are pretty handy. IIRC the guy at ZEUS MOTORCYCLE GEAR used to get it on a pre-booking basis. Here's the link, you can contact the owner for more info, he's a helpful guy.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

              THE END

Guys, my first service is due in a few days..30 days are over but I have finished 830 kms so waiting till 45 days or 1000 kms whichever occurs first.

I wish to stay with the bike during the service, and wanted to know if the service center guys allow it. Sometime back i had read that they allow the same and its not an issue.

Any pointers on the best service center. I am planning to go to the KTM indiranagar one. Any reviews on it ?

Also any other things to be taken care during the first service other than the usual..

                Thanks

                  Hi All,

Do you fill the recommended air pressure ,,29 psi in the front and 32 psi in the rear ?
I feel that its causing the bike to bounce around a lot and making the whole riding experience a very irrirating one. I can feel even the smallest of the pot holes with a huge bounce.

Any solution or workaround other than filing lesser air in both tires ?

                  Thank you.

The recommended pressure is (Front/Rear) 29/29 psi for rider only scenario and 29/31 for rider and pillion. Unless you have a pillion all the time, you can safely set the rear pressure to 29 psi. Also, you can try adjusting your rear preload to a softer setting.

The front tire is more bouncing around than the rear. And couple of my friends have already warned me on the tire wear and the tires not lasting much.
I had tried adjusting the rear preload to 5 and 6 setting. It didn't help much.

Nopes, it doesn't. Bounciness would mean either we have a improper tire pressure (high) on either of the tires or both. When too high a pressure is maintained the tire's flexibility is reduced and hence the jots or bumps are directly sent to the chassis which in turn makes the ride bumpy. Reduce the pressure one or two psi and check, especially the rear.

                        Cheers!

Now I am suspecting the place from where I am filing the air. Seems like there machine is filing in wrong tire pressure.
Will fill at a new place and check it out.

And today I finished my first service at 993 kms and the total cost came up to 1698 Rs. Seems to be 100 200 more than what I have seen on this forum.
May be others can pitch in who recently did there first servicing. They have added labour charges for the drive chain cleaning and lubrication. I thought it should not be there as its free service. This was at KTM indiranagar service center near to the Barbecue nation.

Couple of things i felt as repetitive for no apparent reason. For example they have already added chain spray and lubrication and then on the next page they have again added consumables. Shouldn't it be one category ?

                          Thank you.

Free service is sans of labor, whatever labor cleaning, washing, polishing or even kissing the bike if need be. Consumables are charged, i.e. engine oil, brake oil and chain lubrication. Eventually, in case of chain lubrication, a new can is used and the rest of it is given to the user, but billed for the same. So, labor and service shouldn't be two separate items, it should be chain cleaning and lubrication billed for the items used.

                            Cheers!

2nd one is labour bill. Why have they put consumables in it? Seems incorrect.

Ask them. Do it on phone cause amount is small. Duke will likely drink more fuel than refund you might get.
