I am the one who put most scratches on my bike by using a key chain with tons of keys. I prefer to have some scratches. It makes machine look used.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Lol 😛.. I am bit of paranoid. Haha.. May be its just the new bike thing which I'm not able to get over.Originally posted by s1d View Postevery svc only has a pressure washer.. some have an adjustable one where the pressure can be varied. most of the times it is usually on full blast.
just make sure they use this from a distance (of say around 3 meters), and a good washing guy will use his finger to control that pressure of water hitting the bike.
the radiator on the ktm's is pretty hard material compared to say the cbr or ninja and the fins don't bend that easily even with a pressure wash, just make sure the nozzle is a bit away while hitting the radiator with water and it will be fine.
for the console, if you are so paranoid (which i think you are
) just put a plastic cover over it and stay there while they wash and tell that guy to avoid that area.
a scratch here and a scratch there is inevitable.. just enjoy the bike.. or park it at home covered and don't use it
So as of now, the status is that white fury has covered 350 kms and I m getting an average of 25 km per litre which seems to be good owing to my sedated form of riding. Can't wait to finish the running period.
Need to buy chain spray. Confused between Motul and 3m. Which one is better or if there is a third chain spray then suggest please. 😊

I used to do that on my old bike. With white fury I am being careful to not do so. 😁Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View PostLol. True.

You can also try Maxima chain wax or putoline tech dry chain. They are better than motul and don't spray on the alloys, and last longer. However they are more expensive than motul.Originally posted by sujithbvm View PostGuys , I am planning to get this combo ,, Motul chain lube and Chain clean for my bike. You can use the 90 gear oil (ep90 , gl4 whatever..). use a paint brush (the kind that used to paint grill/walls.. a 50mm brush) to dip and 'paint' over the chain, easiest way imo.. even easier if you have paddock.Originally posted by sujithbvm View PostThank you for your inputs

if you want a cost effective spray lube (especially good in the wet riding conditions), get the nulon grease spray.
regular use 90 gear oil (or 140 if you want a thicker oil) and in the wet spray on the nulon grease spray.
and don't overdo these lubes.. a little goes a long way, and the key being regular clean/lube every 500-800km depending on usage.

Thank you for the timely information. Today only my chain got dirty because of the unexpected rains in Bangalore.Originally posted by s1d View PostYou can use the 90 gear oil (ep90 , gl4 whatever..). use a paint brush (the kind that used to paint grill/walls.. a 50mm brush) to dip and 'paint' over the chain, easiest way imo.. even easier if you have paddock.

And its time to clean and lube the chain.
Is it ok for now if I go with the Motul lube and chain cleaner combo. I know its costly, but I think i can procure it immediately from amazon.
Below is the link for the same.
Coming to the chain cleaning part, I believe you have to apply spray the chain cleaner and clean with a cotton cloth so that all dirt is removed and then once it drys up apply the lube and rotate the bike in back ward direction while doing so.
By the way do this lube and chain cleaner leave marks ?Last edited by sujithbvm; 11-23-2018, 12:06 PM.

you can use a spray and a toothbrush and wipe is off with a rag.. don't be too anal about getting it spanky cleanOriginally posted by sujithbvm View PostComing to the chain cleaning part, I believe you have to apply spray the chain cleaner and clean with a cotton cloth so that all dirt is removed and then once it drys up apply the lube and rotate the bike in back ward direction while doing so.

a cost effective method, use some diesel or kerosene and a paint brush to apply and wipe off.
then use the lube of your choice.
yes, it will spill on the rims and orange rims make this gunk more prominent vs a black rim.. wipe it off, its not going to leave any permanent marks.

There are a couple of pretty aweosme chain cleaning brushes on Amazon, I've been using one for some time now. It works just fine.Originally posted by sujithbvm View PostThank you for the timely information. Today only my chain got dirty because of the unexpected rains in Bangalore.

And yes there will be considerable black gunk on the wheels after you're done cleaning your chain so remember to clean the wheels with a cloth throughly, I'm not sure but it can't be good for that orange paint.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
