    1. May be when your bike heats up the first time, the sensor is designed in such a way that it thinks the engine is hot for only little while and it doesn't spin the fan at full speed. When 2nd time the fan spins for engine heat, it may be above a threshold for a prolonged time, so the fan spins at max speed. I hope i made it clear.

Its like the fans spins for a little the first time and checks if the engine heat comes down and then when it doesn't come down and its certain threshold is crossed, it spins at full speed. Actually there is no point for the fan to spin at max, just when the engine becomes hot momentarily for the 1st time.
Technically, the temp bars indicate coolant temperature (not engine temp).
The fan is supposed to kick in at a particular temperature (i can't remember off my head the exact temp).. i've seen this with the diag tool connected and waited for the fan to come on. and once it brings down to particular temp, the fan shuts off.
Only variation i have noticed is a wee bit change in speed when the headlights are on vs off at idle (on older dukes). Apart from that there is no variable rpm for the fan.

You can go ahead and read thru the 'self study manual' for the ktm 390 (just google it/check the online manual documents it should be there). this will give you a better understanding of some of the workings of the bike.

The fan switches on at 96C and off at 90C, please note it's the coolant temp not the engine temp
When the coolant temp reaches 110C that's when "high coolant temperature" warning is displayed and all temp bars are fully lit up in red.

Not necessarily. Chain, brake all wear differently as per usage characteristics. 500 KM is a good place to start with, sooner or later the slack has to be adjusted. Keeping a 500 KM checkpoint would mean the chain is inspected/lubed periodically which in itself would mean a chain that's better taken care of which in turn would mean more usage chain/sprocket life.

        1. From last 2 weeks I am noticing the radiator fan is not rotating at its full speed when it starts for the 1st time while riding. Once it is off and starts again due to heat it works fine. I was able to notice this due to the sound of the fan which can be heard easily with its full speed. Any suggestions on this if it is going to lead to an issue or is this normal.
        2. Another thing I noticed is at particularly from 3800-4000 rpm there is constant sound coming near the handle bar area. It is like a plastic part continuously vibrating at that rpm range. I am suspecting something on the headlight unit because if I keep it pressed with hand and try to rev in that rpm range the noise is not noticeable. Please let me know if anyone else has faced something similar.
        1. The radiator fan on the Duke is as loud as Maverick's F-14 flyby. There shouldn't be any fluctuation whatsoever, apart from using high beams with the fan running which would wee bit slow the fan, which is perceptible and normal. Under normal circumstances, the fan should perfectly wake up from its slumber when pricked upon, slowing to ridiculously slow speeds and then picking up and a fan that makes any creaking or high pitched squeals while running are signs that the fan is above to give up. If you can share a video of the fan in operation, especially the first scenario which can perhaps give us an idea as to the sinister nature of your little fan.

        Cheers!

True that . The more you take care of each stuff on the bike, the more life and fun you get out of it.
I am planning for my first trip with White fury to Hampi. Any suggestions for a good and sturdy mobile mount for Duke 390, which will not fall off at triple digit speeds.

Ram mounts are the best, but they cost around 4k for the set. Rynox also has a Croc mount, but heard mixed reviews on that. There are also lots of Chinese makes which come in varying degrees of reliability...

you have plenty of options sub 4 digit figures. search in your local spares market and preferably see/feel it before you buy it.
i've used something similar and worked really well (until some miscreant decided to break it, cost me around 300rs 4 yrs ago.)

              here are some others:

these you can mount on the clutch yoke nut also. no extra hardware required, apart from maybe a washer or two.
there are other options with a transparent cover also that might give some protection from the elements.. all available at sub-4 digit figures.

not really..i feel it is overpriced way too much.
i've used local ones and have seen plenty of folks use local ones with no issues for a fraction of the price.

To add a few pointers to the suggestions, I'd recommend you to look for a holder that has an X pattern with preferably a charging port which comes in handy. A basic mobile holder is pretty much sold on most shops these days. I'd personally recommend you to go for a setup that has both the charger and holder. There are many decent quality, of course Chinese made ones that are sturdy and offer great value for money. RAM Mounts are costly, with every additional add-on items charged a premium. e-commerce websites have a plenty these days, choose wisely.

                Cheers!

You can't trust on Chinese mounts, they keep working till they day they stop working. It's seriously weird considering the range of motorcycle gear available in the market but good mounts are still unavailable in an affordable price range.
And the Rynox croc mount has been unavailable for 6 months now.

I guess i shud go through the local market near my place and dig through some models and then zero in on one which is sturdy enough and doesnt fall off midway.
Ram mounts are way too costly.

Also I have a old nexus phone which is way less than 4k now..so will test with that first to know the reliability of the mount.

Thank you for the links bro. The first one looks good for my old phone. When you talked about the transparent cover. It reminded me something.

I had done a normal wash of my white fury at my friend place last weekend and the display was fine till today or may be i didn't observe it till today morning while coming to office.
Today i saw water droplets inside both the vertical edges of the display though i had not done pressure wash. I just basically poured little water and cleaned the screen, that's it and still somehow water was able to creep inside.

Also slight scratches are visible now on the screen. Should i go ahead with a cover or something like a tempered glass for it ?

Ya , even I want a X shaped pattern one. When you say charger and holder, do you mean to charge the phone from the bikes 12-volt connector ?
Sorry for the stupid question as i don't know if anything like that is possible.

Also one more things, is it safe to off the bike when the fan is spinning ?
As many times it happens that I am about to reach my home or office and as soon as I enter the parking, the fan starts spinning.

Sometimes i do wait for the fan to stop spinning and sometimes if I am in a hurry, I switch it off and leave.
Is it OK ? I mean will it affect the engine in the long run.?

If you have patience and ready to wait, u can check AliExpress for screen protectors. Then use some basic rubbing / scratch remover compound or very fine grit sandpaper (soak them in water for sometime) to remove the scratches before applying the screen guard.

It can be connected via your accessories connector which is easier or you can connect it to your battery. The one good aspect about the ACC PORT is that it is 10 AMPS fused and it works with the igntion, so you need not worry about it being constantly on. On the other hand, some USB ports have parasitic drain, though not much, unless used with an accessory, but it still draws some power, this is solved by plugging it in the ACC port.

Secondly, you can get switched USB ports that have a dedicated switch in them that is directly connected to the battery for bikes without ACC port and helps user to switch on or off depending on the need, which I'd prefer.

                                Cheers!
