This company needs product/industrial designer ASAP.
I need most of those things what we can see in this video,
    BUT,
    1. bash plate is ugly, i do not want to spoil my beautiful bike. And why it is orange? WTF!?
    2. Crash guards protect well, i believe, but design (look) is also discussable.
    3. WTH! Why they logos are on every single piece?
    4. Radiator guard – ugly logo again. Colour is discussable. They need graphic designer too, to design nice biking feeling logo.
    5. Racks should be black. If you look on the bike it is perfectly designed – balance, rhythms etc between orange, black and white are great, but those big white pieces totally destroy it. Main thing what catch our eyes is bike's frame, so all additional extras must fit to overall look of the bike.
Well, I must say something positive also, it is not good to say only shit.
Those things work well, i believe, but they ugly as hell (sorry). So, if you do not care how your bike looks, feel free, buy it.
PS. Website doesn't work. No idea how you can buy. Whatsapp?
They told four wheels were better then two.
    So, I bought another motorcycle!

Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder my friend. The thing is even though it looks ugly to you they are build like a tank. They can take a lot of beating and still come out as if nothing has happened. Check out videos on their Facebook page.

Also, If you don't like the colors they can paint in the color of your liking. Head over to their Facebook page for more details, they are really active there.

I got a quote of 3.5K for the crash guards let me know if you get a better price than this. Cheers!

Have come across an article related to ecu resetting which can help in correcting the above issues..has somebody tried this and did it work as purported?
On a cold start the idle rpm is high, this is NORMAL. It comes down to normal (i.e. ~1500rpm) after a couple of minutes. nothing to worry.
The second behaviour is also normal, you need to ensure that you are not abruptly closing the throttle.. as you down shift, try and blip the throttle. You will get the hang of it as you clock more kms.
You do not need to do that 15 min 'reset' procedure and am not sure it works. A better way to do it is to go to the svc, ask them to connect the diag tool and clear the 'dtc'. then start the bike and let it idle for 15 min.
after clearing the dtc, if you try to ride the bike immediately it will hiccup and shut down often and requires more throttle input to get it going and it behaves so for around 15~20km.. to avoid this, let the bike idle for around 15 minutes after clearing the dtc.

but yours is a non issue, so i don't think you need to do this. i get the dtc cleared (even though there are no error codes) every service.. it lets the ecu relearn.

Stop posting on the forum and get it to the svc and ktm's attention!! Take the pictures and videos and email them to [email protected] and demand a replacement. It should be done under warranty.
And make sure the replacement is done in your presence (some svc will try to swap the wheel from another bike)

Some reviewers also mentioned the same noise problem.
I can only hear the noise in stop and go traffic which is a lot here in Delhi. So I have decided to just live with it.
Maybe after the brake pads are changed, it may stop.
I got my bike shown to the service engineer last weekend.
I was also fed up of this noise coming at low speeds and repeated complaint finally made him come down to the service center.
He told me that being sintered pads the noise will be there but my bike had some extra noise. He took it for test drive to some place with low surrounding noise and confirmed that my bike had some extra noise coming.
It was finally diagnosed to the faulty disk. It seems the pads are fine but the front disk of the wheel ( may be not machined properly or damaged in transport) was slightly out.Hence even a slight dust particle in the pad caused the extra noise. They have agreed to change the disk which will probably be arriving in few days.
Lets hope that it resolves the issue.

            Hi everyone!

I've been using this bike since 2017 November (first service done fairly well by Kasturba ASC ) and so far I've found it a very fulfilling and pleasing journey for the most part. I have just a couple of quick questions:

            1. The lads at the ASC used some really troublesome stuff to lube up the chain. Why troublesome? Because that stuff has dirtied the rims badly, and it simply resists all the scrubbing I do. To give you an idea, our housekeeper saw me scrubbing away at the rims and exclaimed that she doesn't need to scrub our kitchen utensils half as hard to make them shine.
So question is, how do I clean up the rims without damaging the paint?

            2. Although the power of the bike is still ridiculously ahead of most other vehicles on the roads, I found that I've become bored of the exhaust note. Is there any way for me to change the exhaust note (even if it means making it quieter) without voiding warranty? Would prefer making it a quickly reversible modification so as to keep up resale value. I've also been told that installing custom exhausts will void warranty immediately - is this true?

            Thanks!

The goop that gets stuck around is rim is a mixture of road dust, and the stickiness of the lube itself which causes dirty rims, not to mention, plain old gear oil used by SVCs which gets splashed all over the rim. Chain no matter how, does fling some amount of lube around the viccinity, once they are heated up. Unfortunately this happens to be swingarm, the rim and what not. Start off with using diesel, diesel is very effective in removing stubborn oil stains. Use a soft lint cloth or a rag, dipped with diesel and then wipe off, stains if should start getting undone. If you're not able to get the stains out, spray the diesel and allow it to soak for a few mins, any stubborn stain should come undone.

Secondly, try not to fiddle with the exhaust systems and electrical components during the warranty period, as they are prime candidates for the SVC to reject a warranty claim if any. Other than that, a slip-on isn't significant a player in voiding the warranty or doesn't impact the life of an engine negatively. But, nonetheless full exhaust systems should be installed with a properly tuned map based for that specific exhaust failing which the engine dies a slow death which is another big topic as to why! But for now, let's stick to this.

              Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Makes sense. Strangely, I observed that this happened only after the service - between delivery and first service, the rim was always a breeze to clean. Maybe the ASC guys used some oil/lube that wasn't present earlier? Anyway, I'll try this diesel trick for now. Thanks!

Also, one last question I forgot about: is it a bad idea to get headlights blacked out? Just to make the bike look more like its bigger 790cc sibling Somewhat like this linked video (makes a blink-and-miss cameo, watch out) I don't have much night riding outside the city. So if the mod doesn't reduce visibility much, I would very much like to get it done. My only concern is whether it will reduce the throw/brightness of the lights.

Washing the rims with a cloth immersed with diesel, won’t it take the rim paint along with it?

So my bike got the 2nd servicing last weekend.
                    Just few updates :
                    1. New version for the software is available. Its 41 now. The update was quick and as per service engineer, it will solve the incorrect time and headlight flickering issue. I am not sure why they didn't release any official information for the existing customers.
                    2. I wanted to get the heat plate that the 2018 models are getting. But came to know that the plate cannot be fitted to the 2017 models as the chassis is different.
                    3. As per service supervisor, reason for the plate is that the radiator fan in 2017 came with a plastic shroud which directed the hot air in a particular direction. But the 2018 models are without this plastic shroud hence are given a bigger and faster moving fan but will direct heat in all direction. So to prevent the hot air hitting the leg, the plate is given.
                    4. The front brake still produces a rubbing noise. The ASC people are still wondering about this and wanted to persuade me that all the bikes had that issue. I am still not convinced. I am taking my bike to get it checked by the KTM service manager in few days.. lets see what happens.

                    Regards,
                    J
Ohh That's great. SO earlier version was V39 i guess. I had visited the SVC here in Bangalore a month ago and they said they would call me when the update is out. But no calls yet. Also with the update does the DRL switch to the bottom most LED being lit during day?(as that's how it is on the 2018 Version)

Regarding the brakes issue, even i have been experiencing some inconsistency, sometimes it performs good but sometimes you just cannot predict. Also the free play seems to be high. I dunno whats the issue..if you get an update let me know.

Apparently, also the fan sound is very less as compared to the 2017 model. Happened to bump across a few videos on Youtube but cant really judge, did you happen to experience anything on that?

M not sure about the DRL, didn't notice..
The brakes on my bike are pretty consistent. The only thing is there is constant metal rubbing sound coming from front brakes which sounds irritating to me. But since it is only audible in speeds < 30 kmph, it doesnt bother me much. But getting the disk changed soon.
I have not considered the fan sound also as i didnt get a chance to start the bike. But i think the it might be because of removal of shroud that was given in MY17 bike.

                      Regards,
                      J

My bike has ran 6.4k and yet to give for 2nd service. It has passed it interval days not finding time to leave. the front and rear pads are almost in their final stage and might run for another 700kms. Which is too soon. Want to know the price of both front and rear pads.

Also the breaks are completely gone, infact works only to 30% of its potential.
And the front left fork is leaking.

                          Hi Abhi,

They charged Rs. 1712.46 + 177.00(fitment charge) for Front pads. I checked with SVC in-charge about rear pads and he said it would cost around 500.

                          Hope it helps.

It lasted only for 6.5k KM's?

Edit: checked it again, guess it'll last for another 3k. Btw after travelling about 30kms in Bangalore traffic noticed that the front disc won't heat even a bit and the rear disc heats like how it's supposed to.[emoji848] Is it because of the sinted pads?

2017 KTM duke 390 owners, where do you hang your helmet (if you do)? I have a cycle/cable lock which I have hung on the handlebar, but that interferes with the handle when doing full turns or when locking the handle. Also the metal portion of the lock scrapes the black plastic of the tank. I can't find anywhere else to lock the helmet Any DIY solutions or accessories that anyone has installed? I really don't want to lug the helmet around wherever I go.

Hi. I put the helmet lock around the pillion foot rest rods when not using it to lock the helmet. I lock the helmet on the handle bar with the loop going around the handle bar between the TFT and front brake master cylinder through the gap above the steering stem. I hope you understood.
