Thanks for sharing your experience. I tend to be paranoid when dealing with any big business.
Just Drop a mail to KTM and Bajaj. The issue will be resolved.
Mention clearly that the dealer is violating the law and asking for more money. The issue should be resolved immediately.

If you are on Social Media, use that if you don't get responses to mails.

Hey Guys, Just wanted to update regarding my braking issues. Visited the KTM Mekhri Circle SVC on Saturday. Met Mr Sebastian (i guess he's the manager)Took a test ride of the vehicle and did agree to the weak braking on rear as the ABS was kicking in relatively quicker. However, said the front was alright, which even I observed whilst on the way to the SVC. He carried out the regular work of removing the brake pads cleaning them and sanding them. Took a test ride and still found it to be not up-to the mark. He then bled the whole system and topped up the fluid. Seemed a lot better then what i had the experienced. However need to ride a few 100 kms to ensure they're consistent. As I've experienced that they work fine for about 100-200kms and then again start getting weaker.

        Thanks for your support.

after bleeding did they top up the fluid ? I would say top up the fluid if required.. then pump the lever a few times/keep it pressed for a minute or so.
next go ahead and clean the rotors with some soapy water(like dish wash vim) and a scotch brite pad(green one)
then rub the brake pads down with sandpaper and put them back in.
for the rear brakes, in addition what you could do is to ask them to grease the caliper (locally called 'caliper greasing' i.e. clean and apply some grease on the caliper pin) the rear is a floating caliper which slides to engage the brakes and if it isn't moving freely you'd facing braking issues. i had this done when the bike was around a year old. << this step might actually improve the rear braking feel/performance.
the rear brakes usually get better after a couple 1000km i.e. once the pads wear out more.. at-least that's what i've noticed on the dukes. initially they feel 'wooden' lacking much bite requiring one to stomp on them.. but over a few 1000km the bite improves.

Emails to Bajaj and KTM will result to nothing, trust me I tried that. A tweet also didn't resolve anything. For the correct charges find out what is the road tax for that category of bike in your state.

The registration charges is not fixed or you won't know it by simple means.

In Bangalore one showroom was charging me 2000 for it and another was charging 500ish. So I just pointed that out and at the end I paid 500 for registration which is still too steep for me. They also promised me a receipt for that but obviously I didn't get it.

I tried whatever was there in my power without being violent but at the end I just gave up.

Also the worst part is this the showroom which had 4+ reviews in google and second highest rating in Bangalore. The top showroom had a rating of 4.3 and my experience was even worse there.

So I'd say try out every showroom you can reach and talk to them.

500 looks ok. As dealer has an agent at RTO who get all this things done, who need to get paid. I would have happily given that amount.
Thank you. Your experience has given me confidence to haggle.

This hidden charges scam has been going on at dealership level since forever. It's not just for me. They have this regestration charge on quotation template at showroom. I think all this happens in full knowledge of distributor. Mailing to KTM will aggravate problems for me, I think.

You are very lucky to get the work done for just 500. Banglore RTO are worst place to be. Had experience with indranagar RTO. pathetic is very least word to describe about the experience. So paying little more for peace of mind is totally worth .

Dude, what you are saying is wrong. When you report Illegal charges, you can sue bajaj and KTM because they havent taken this issue into their hands and fixed it even after you reported it.
By LAW, they cannot sell anything over MRP. These handling charges are something which these dealers are doing illegally.
This is a Crime, which no company will do. So, if you report, you should get these extra charges waived off. if not, you are free to sue them and seek compensation for the cheating they are doing. Look for some PP's in your area. They will take things forward. Sorry to hear the sad state of affairs in Bangalore. The highest taxing state doesnt even care about its tax payers.

You have so many dealers in Bangalore, choose one after checking a few. Its worse in small towns with just one dealer. Even better if you can get a current bike owner to refer you. Take assurance at start of no hidden and unreasonable charges.
I had to argue about the RTO charges and getting insurance on my own. Dealer quoted 8300 for insurance I got it for 5300 from United India Insurance.

I have also V39 which is the latest version i know till now and it reboots id you connect your phone to the bike. The reboots are random, mine reboots sometimes if you ride and listening to music.

Found this video explaining the improvements on 2018 model. It shows the plate also. But i doubt about the claim for the radiator fan. It says that the radiator fan is bigger...m not sure of that..
I have seen the video. I must tell you that because i live in athens Greece, I have the white model 3 months now.
The platei see, to me will not give you any significant reduce in heat. The most heat i get to my legs is from the radiator when the fan turns on. The spot where is the plate, has not so much heat.

I can't say if the radiator is much larger than my bike, from the videoi coudn't tell.

Always match the insurance amount printed on the insurance papers to what you paid. Since nowadays you can print your copy out online and you donot get any form of authentication mark, print a copy out yourself from the insurance company website and check the details like validity period, and amount paid.

From local fish market to big bike showrooms you have to haggle. The concept remains the same, that people are are waiting to loot you at every corner you have to be alert to tackle them.

The 390 sales are slow there is no denying the fact atleast in Bangalore. So the showrooms want sales, so I used this to my advantage and let them know that there are other places where I can purchase this. The line between feeling cheated and peace of mind is different from person to person. I would have happily paid 2000 if they said what they are charging me for (may it be for transport, maybe for buying himself a new phone) whatever. I really hate it when they blatantly lie on your face and do a half-asses job like saying "we are giving you petrol and free accessories like a free stand".

What I am saying IS wrong and you can press illegal charges but just try doing that. You will end up more frustrated and at last you will end up paying the amount. In India you cannot kill the evil I'm very sorry to say that, try to lessen it. Road and Transportation department in Karnataka gives us the middle finger at every point possible.

If you want to live like that, at each and everyplace you face the same issue. Stand tall and strong. You will see everything falling into your path. Be prepared to take tough decisions. you wont regret. Once you shoot an Email, they have to acknowledge and respond. They cant respond supporting illegal charges.

I understand what you mean and said. I have been through that phase too. But i am not venturing into that area again. I am going to live by the MRP standards set by government. If they dont want to, i will question them and try to get it resolved. If they dont want to, i am going to change my choice.
