One question, Is this the 2017 or 2018 model?
Just try to do the proper run in procedure before ripping her heart out.
Yes doing the run in procedure keeping it under 7500rpm.

I guess the latest update is AV41.. got it updated & so far no reboots tho..Originally posted by slink21 View PostI have also V39 which is the latest version i know till now and it reboots id you connect your phone to the bike. The reboots are random, mine reboots sometimes if you ride and listening to music.
Only issue I have is the vanishing coolant every 600 or so KMs.. the mechanic says that it's normal coz the bike produces lots of heat blah blah, always topping up the coolant & I'm done.. no leaks or mixing with engine oil anywhere (touchwood)..
live long.. live happy.. that's the best revenge that can be served to the people who hate you..

which jacket is that?Originally posted by Mandar64 View PostHello Bikers Got My Duke 390 today
Rode it for almost 100kms today in city.
Loved the punch of the bike.Tempetature bar went upto 5 bars in traffic,is this normal??And in between when the Low Oil warning sign was showing up and after some 2-3mins the sign was going off.Coolant level is in between max and min.And the usual thud sound while upshifting and downshifting, geting used to it.Loving the bike!![emoji5][emoji5]

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The Coolant vanishing is not normal if it goes to min or below, please get it checked at SVC, I had the same issue, due to the head gasket not fixed correctly at the factory level. The Coolant was mixing.. But at very very low levels. Post gasket replacement, I am not facing the issue now, just refer a post in couple of pages earlier, which Cleary indicates the problem and solution to it.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostI guess the latest update is AV41.. got it updated & so far no reboots tho..

Please forgive me for the silly question but how do I check coolant level? that window usually shows only white color, can't see anything really through it. Tried to get the bike vertical also, but can't see anything.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Ajay, I would still get it checked as I recently had a similar issue with my 2015 Duke 390. The coolant was going down to min by about 500 KM and I had it checked. Minor leak from a seal and the coolant was mixing with oil. After it was fixed, the coolant only drops to min every 1200 KM, but I was still not satisfied and it turns out that my radiator cap was faulty. Waiting for a replacement to come in stock. As you seem to have already spoken to the mechanic, ascertain that there is no coolant-oil mixing, if there is no mixing it could be something as simple as the radiator cap, as was in my case. 600 KM is too short for the coolant to drop to the min level or bellow.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostI guess the latest update is AV41.. got it updated & so far no reboots tho..

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
If you cannot see any coolant in the sight window below the coolant cap, your coolant may be at the extreme lower end. Stock coolant is Motul Inugel and is green in color. With the bike being upright you should be able to see coolant between the high and low mark. If you are not able to see the coolant, top up the coolant reservoir and observe. But before that, make sure the bike is upright.Originally posted by razzer View PostPlease forgive me for the silly question but how do I check coolant level? that window usually shows only white color, can't see anything really through it. The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

bro, that's definitely not normal!! you as a owner of a rc200 for 3+ yrs should know that better !!Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostOnly issue I have is the vanishing coolant every 600 or so KMs.. the mechanic says that it's normal coz the bike produces lots of heat blah blah, always topping up the coolant & I'm done.. no leaks or mixing with engine oil anywhere (touchwood)..
either an external leak of coolant or it's mixing in with the oil due to bad head gasket or faulty water pump/seal.

how'd you ID that it's the radiator cap? just curious about that thing..
actually, it's unusual.. I don't see it being mixing with the engine oil for the last two services.. nope.. I've been topping up a lot.. also, I don't see any leakage anywhere.. not at all.. no leaks anywhere, neither mixing with the engine oil.. I asked the AS Rao nagar guy who did our sprockets since he's the one who does my 390 too, he said that it's normal for the 390 to "consume" the coolant.. the engine oil removed were measured last couple of services, it's not green, the quantity is also just fine.. I don't see any smoke from exhaust too.. it's like the coolant is just "vanishing" out of the blue.. I think I'll get the gasket checked, but I'm afraid to get my engine or anything opened.. last thing I want is a chain of unending visits starting from this.. but I'll still keep the KTM guy here posted about it..Originally posted by s1d View Postbro, that's definitely not normal!! you as a owner of a rc200 for 3+ yrs should know that better !! - SHAME ON ME!!!

if coolant mixes with oil, it will turn greyish.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View Postthe engine oil removed were measured last couple of services, it's not green,
i suggest you drain both the coolant and the engine oil and inspect them individually. if it ain't mixing, then there is a leak/evaporation loss somewhere. 600km is too short an interval to notice significant coolant loss.

How long does coolant last on an average?? I did around 2800 kms and it is about to reach the min line.Originally posted by s1d View Postif coolant mixes with oil, it will turn greyish.
