If it's 45 days, then why did the dealer say 30 days. Or was it an mistake from his side or may be for bangalore pollution effects he told 30 days.. Not sure though..

I did seevice in around 25 days cause I wanted to do a trip next weekend.Originally posted by sujithbvm View PostCongratulations on your Duke bro.
Did you do 1st service at 30 days or 45 days?
I'm asking this as the service centre guy told me 30 days and the manual says 45 days.
Whats written in owner manual should be correct.

they will tell you whatever they want to. the manual is what the company should stand by. you could drop in an email to [email protected] and ask them to clarify the first service interval. You could also fill up their online form for complaints/queries/suggestions here http://bit.ly/2hTX1amOriginally posted by sujithbvm View Postthen why did the dealer say 30 days.
again 30 - 45 days isn't a big difference, get it done within that interval or 1000km whichever earlier.. more importantly don't exceed these for warranty purpose.

Yes, I will follow the manual but I guess i will finish 1000 kms before that. Already finished 250 kms..

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Question for OnePlus users.
I have the OP6T, and the phone pairs with the Duke effortlessly and everything works as it's supposed to be except the calls on TFT function.
When I recieve a call, the TFT screen shows nothing and I can't even pick the calls using the handlebar controls, though music controls work just fine which is weird.
What did you guys do to overcome this problem?

Guys any pointers on cleaning the Duke 390. I have got the Roger Duster for removing the dust, but worried about the water wash.
All that construction work in Bangalore is leading to loads of dust getting accumulated in just a span of 2 days.
Somebody had earlier pointed out on not hitting the radiator with high pressure water and rest of all the bike is ok for high pressure wash.
I am specially worried on the electricals getting screwed up...

The high pressure water jet can damage the radiator fins, also don't use the jet directly on the TFT and under the pillion seat. Everywhere else is fine.Originally posted by sujithbvm View PostGuys any pointers on cleaning the Duke 390. I have got the Roger Duster for removing the dust, but worried about the water wash.

Ever since I read that pairing Android devices can make the console buggy, i have given up the idea of doing it.Originally posted by hamadryad View PostQuestion for OnePlus users.

It offers mostly features i would never use and imo gimmicky. Don't want to risk ecu failure etc, some random warnings for nothing.

Well that's not the answer to what I asked but, pairing a phone doesn't make the console buggy, I've been using it ever since I bought the bike.Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View PostEver since I read that pairing Android devices can make the console buggy, i have given up the idea of doing it.

When you're a tourer, the Bluetooth pairing feature is a must have and it's definitely not a GIMMICK, it's made my life way easier.
I pair my phone with my Bluetooth headset and the bike and put the phone in the tank bag, I can see who's calling me on the TFT, pick or reject calls using the handlebar controls and also control my music.
So, when you recieve a call while riding, would you rather park your bike on the side, take out your phone, take off gloves, take off helmet and then talk or would you park your bike on the side and pick up the call and get on with it?
Not to mention I can reject telemarketer calls outright from my handlebar cruising at 100kmph.

How do you wear Bluetooth headset inside helmets? Is it a special helmet?Originally posted by hamadryad View PostWell that's not the answer to what I asked but, pairing a phone doesn't make the console buggy, I've been using it ever since I bought the bike.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
you get bluetooth headsets for helmets specially. Sena and ScalaRider are a few, the Chinese are heating up the competition too with their own devices that are cheaper & does a good job.Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View PostHow do you wear Bluetooth headset inside helmets? I think you are right, but the answer for the same question i got from the service guys is exactly the opposite. They told that they do not take care of such things and wash everything with high pressure onlyOriginally posted by hamadryad View PostThe high pressure water jet can damage the radiator fins, also don't use the jet directly on the TFT and under the pillion seat. ..
Also i pointed to him the fact of water bubbles in the tail light assembly on the test ride bike sitting there and he told thats its normal as the bike is sitting whole day outside and only in the night they take it inside. I had no answer for this logic of this ,,
Most probably the water had entered when they washed which in the future can screw up your electricals.
One more annoying thing happening with me now is at the petrol pump and I am not able to find an effective solution for this.
I have filled fuel 3 times now and out of those 3 times, 2 times the petrol attendant was able to put scratches on the fuel cap when putting the petrol.
The first time he banged the pipe on the fuel cap by mistake because he was not careful and second time today he rested the pipe on the fuel cap and voila we have 2 scratches on less than 2 weeks old bike

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
every svc only has a pressure washer.. some have an adjustable one where the pressure can be varied. most of the times it is usually on full blast.Originally posted by sujithbvm View PostI think you are right, but the answer for the same question i got from the service guys is exactly the opposite. just make sure they use this from a distance (of say around 3 meters), and a good washing guy will use his finger to control that pressure of water hitting the bike.
the radiator on the ktm's is pretty hard material compared to say the cbr or ninja and the fins don't bend that easily even with a pressure wash, just make sure the nozzle is a bit away while hitting the radiator with water and it will be fine.
for the console, if you are so paranoid (which i think you are
) just put a plastic cover over it and stay there while they wash and tell that guy to avoid that area.
a scratch here and a scratch there is inevitable.. just enjoy the bike.. or park it at home covered and don't use it
