You can clearly differentiate a squid by the way the he rides and or rev matches.

Good question. Unfortunately, two strokes are sweet, they are that way and will be. They give you all the engine power, even when you close the throttle, which is beautiful isn't it. They have very, very zilch engine braking whatsoever, when compared to a four stroke which has superior engine braking. It all has to do with the evolution itself, four strokes have way different breathing mechanism than a two stroke which helps four stroke deliver good engine braking. Two strokes, make sure the brakes are in top condition, else it's troublemaker.

I was hoping to get it installed the same day the bike is delivered, so as to not take any chances with a new bike, especially this expensive.
Yes and your showroom is right. Usually, the SVC will easily void warranty when, if they suspect a wiring parody, i.e. faulty wiring, spliced wiring which would mean warranty on certain aspect of the bike is rendered null. If you're confident enough, you can go ahead and take the plunge. Even if some wiring splicing is done, the installation if done properly won't cause any wiring issues. Get it installed at a good installation shop and you're all set.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

almost negligible compared to a 4 stroke, but yes.

Finally after a lot of huff and puff, I can call myself a proud owner of the Duke 390

I noticed one thing on my first ride home.. There's a alarm/siren/horn kind of sound(kind of "paaaaaaeee" ) from the engine area.. and when in between traffic and other vehicles, the sound got amplified , and i have to admit, its a little irritating

Its just early days.. but still, can someone relate to this? Any idea why the noise would come?

        Thanks

This is condition in full winters. I wonder what fan will do in full summers.

On side note, after one week of effort to figure out coolant level, I am still unable to see anything. Even if I flash a floodlight it shows nothing. Only option left is to visit svc now.

I guess, the Coolant level is too low, get it checked at SVC ASAP.

Welcome to the club and wishing you miles of happiness. Secondly, DO GO THROUGH your owner's manual, it has 'the" vital aspects of your motorcycle which I highly recommend. Secondly, don't forget the customary pictures, ride experience and what not.

                  Ride safe!

                  Cheers!

irrespective of winter/summer, in city traffic the fan will come on (maybe a minute or so later in winter).. that's about it

can u trying adding some water in to the expansion tank (the plastic tank where you are checking the level) and see if you can spot it ?
also check the engine oil color, if it appears greyish then you have a problem. if not, top up the coolant and keep an eye on it the next few days.

on new bikes, the coolant level will most likely drop (because from the factory it doesn't seem 'fully' filled/bled).. but one top up to near the max level should do. during regular use, you may notice the level go up/down a wee bit (due to the radiator pushing out and sucking back the coolant as the temp/pressure changes) .. but it shouldn't be reducing constantly.

I will remember to check coolant, engine oil level next time I ride her. Meanwhile, here are the pics, Enjoy!

Happy new year to all of you guys too!

                        Hi Guys,

My bike has done about 6.5k Kms, due for second service soon. Now suddenly the engine oil light popped up and disappeared like just for a second, this is now happening for 2 days like once per day, it is not constant it just comes up usually when I go over a speed bump or something.

                        Any ideas?

                        Cheers

When I'm riding with the helmet on, I'm invisible and people just deal with me as the guy on the bike :)

Check for the oil level if it is between min and max levels. If not top it up and check if the issue still persists.
Ride the bike around a little bit and then check the oil level.

                            Hi Guys,

My bike has done around 4.6k, I feel that the front brake lacks sufficient bite and feedback. Also the headlight fails to light up the road adequately especially against oncoming traffic. Need suggestions for better brake pads and auxillary lights..anyone who has tried the upgrades and can recommend the same?

For me ,It looks like the same dreaded coolant oil mixup issue. I too had the same symptoms for a day or two with engine oil light popped up regularly on and. Off for two days and then finally shut the bike . It stopped in the middle of the road.
Did you experience coolant level drop issue before . If so then this is the same as I said above . If not it could be sensor or something else .

An update to above post, i went to svc today and yes, coolant was below min mark so I could not see it. They topped up to about 3/4 point in min-max indicator. Now I can see it moving if I shake motorcycle. It took about 100-150 ml or so. Not much.

Looking back i think coolant was low right from time of delivery. Cause I tried to check many times the level to no avail. Since I could not see anything at time of delivery, I took word of their head mechanic that it was full. It should ve been rectified at first service.
