Auto-choke? Man, I didn't realise this Scooter had auto-choke. Speaking from a previous experience I've had with a Discover 100M, automatic usage of choke is the worst. Starting issues will just leave you stranded and helpless.Originally posted by sambit View PostYes, this looks like some serious issue with autochoke..... Re: TVS-NTorq 125 Ownership Thread
Ive got my vehicle back after is refused to start and left me stranded on the road at 330am.. This was 2 days back.
Now ive got it back, tvs mechanic said there were lot of dust and mud in petrol tank, hence the petrol wasnt passing to the engine.
I m not taking risk to take it to my work as of now. Ill leave it idle for 8 to 10 hours amd check for the issue..
Do u guys think what the mechanic said was truth?
Because never faces this issue with jupiter in 2 years.

Re: TVS-NTorq 125 Ownership Thread
Hi Everyone!
I have booked an Ntorq (blue colour) for my wife as a surprise for her birthday in September. I have never purchased a scooter and am mainly a bike guy. Test rode the scooter and loved how vibe free it was compared to her current scooter. I have a Dominar and really liked the pick up of the Ntorq.
All said and done can you please help me with the following?
- Are the mirrors separate accessories or are they part of the package?
- Are there any accessories I can opt for from TVS? If so what are the approx prices?
- Does the console only connect to Android phones?
- Is MapMyIndia as accurate as Google Maps?
- Is there engine start issues in the morning with the button start?
- What should i check for when taking delivery? I guess there is a PDI list for the Ntorq?
I have read the first 10 pages of the thread and apologize in advance if I am asking something which has already been discussed. I appreciate your replies.
Thanks!Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

1. Mirrors are integral part of any vehicle. But ladies footrest is extra accessory.Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostHi Everyone!

Thanks for replying. Actually I had read some time back that Mirrors were charged as an extra accessory in some Honda Scooters, probably the Navi, hence my question. Will keep the ladies footrest and mat in mind.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

All of the items are being charges by Honda on every scooter as a compulsory accessories which includes side mirrors, footmat, ladies foot rest, seat cover & side beadings @3500/-.Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostHi Sambit,

Well, they can charge anything... People buy Honda blindly. So if you resale, people will buy that defective peice blindly aswell. Their Support team never answer your queries/complaints, You might get lucky if its a CBR. But the showroom guys never listn to the HO. My experience with CBR was ruined due to those @#$%$#.Originally posted by madgunnerbomb View PostAll of the items are being charges by Honda on every scooter as a compulsory accessories which includes side mirrors, footmat, ladies foot rest, seat cover & side beadings @3500/-.
Coming to Yamaha & TVS, the whole scenario changes.. Suddenly you feel privileged.

I've never been to Gujrat but if I'm winter the temperature drops to single digit, ntorq will not start. Almost every owner of ntorq that I've met has admitted that the scooter does not start when cold.Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostHi Everyone

I recently did a 14km trip and parked my bike in the open. It rained for 10 minutes. Half an hour later, my ntorq failed to start. About 27kicks later the scooter almost came to life as if i has parked it for a month.
If you don't want to anger your wife, do yourself a favor, get any other scooter but ntorq.
Because happy wife = happy life.
To add more, my 17 year old splendor starts faster without choke after a month or two of sitting idle.Last edited by Gollum; 08-24-2018, 10:24 AM.Hero Honda Splendor (June 2001- Present)

Thanks for the reply. Actually there is pretty much no such thing as winter in Vadodara, specially if you are coming from the North. The temperature at its coldest is about 14 degrees here.
This starting issue is looking to be a bit of a concern now. Problem is I dont want her to get another Honda and the Burgman is beyond my already bloated budget and looks weird with those small wheels. We do have indoor parking at my place and her work place but I guess I am really looking for excuses to buy this scooter.
Still I am very thankful for your candid feedback.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

Re: TVS-NTorq 125 Ownership Thread
Just so you know, the electric start also works, but it will take about 1-2 minutes of continuous cranking. Meaning you press and hold the electric start button for nearly 2 minutes to start the Scooter. People may think you are weird and going to burn the starter motor but that it what it normally takes to start it.Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostHi Gollum,

If you use the scooter "everyday", you wont have any starting issue. But miss a day and you will be back to square one.
FYI..I downgraded from Scooty Zest 110 to nTorq. Downgrade wrt starting and mileage.
You can get an average of 40Kmpl with this if you or Wifey rides alone (not in city). If you have a pillion you will get about 32Kmpl(city).
Now that I have said all about the cons, let me start with the Pros:
1: The suspension is brilliant, as good as Splendor but not R3 lol. Lets say its better than Honda Activa.
2: The handling is great. Fat rear Tyre gives loads of grip and I a more confident in taking a curve on ntorq than my R3 running MRF's.
3: The chassis is rigid and gives a good feel over the bumps and two-up riding
4: the pass light is great but is not positioned well
5: Headlight High beam is pretty good but Low beam is like a searchlight. aka very short/near throw. You end up using high beam to be able to see the road.
6: Horn is very loud and you can be sure to be heard by even a deaf person (metaphorically).
7: Stats on the speedo and the app keep you updated and you can be very sure on how many kms you've done with fuel you are left with after reserve. Thanks to a trip meter called "F". This is new to me. Might be already available on other bikes etc.
8: The best Seat I've sat on. its as good as a sofa. But I'm 5'10", so the handle bar is very close to me. It took me a while to get used to the weird riding posture. R3's handle and seat are not really close to each other.Hero Honda Splendor (June 2001- Present)

Re: TVS-NTorq 125 Ownership Thread
Im glad you took the time to sum up such a nice and most importantly "honest" review. What impressed me despite coming from the Dominar is also the pick up and the handling. I could feel the difference the fatter tyres make as compared to the Activa which my wife currently rides. The distance to empty reading in the app is also very useful. My bike doesnt have it. It doesnt have 90% of the smart features this scooter has.Originally posted by Gollum View PostJust so you know, the electric start also works, but it will take about 1-2 minutes of continuous cranking. Like I said I am a noob when it comes to scooters and i really liked the way this scooter looks and felt and also my wife keeps saying how all the scooters in the market look like anyone from the age of 15 to 50 could ride one without polarising opinions, meaning they have all become very similar looking. Apart from the SR, Vespa and Burgman I think this is the only one which stands out.
Seat comfort is of course a big thing and many like you have confirmed this. My wife is 5 ft 5 so this should suit her well.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

Re: TVS-NTorq 125 Ownership Thread
First Post [emoji3]
I bought ntorq on the 2nd August and till now I've completed close to 1000+ kms.
Bought for 75k including accessories @hyd , frost grey colour.
Delivery experience is similar to what others here mentioned . Below are couple of points I would like to point out about this bike
• Initial pickup is little lagging compared to other 125 cc bikes ( I own a swish ) but mid range is quite good ,though you will have to crank the throttle to feel the pickup .
• suspension is spot on soft when ridden below 40 stiff once you cross 50 . This helps in control.
• ntorq app is ok but you will need to be connected each and every time you switch off the vehicle. Map my India does not have all the locations available to navigate and the biggest miss is lack of traffic prediction.
• Quality of plastics are not that good . Fit and finish is not up to the likes of other japanese scotter , lot of panel gaps and plastic next the foot board is flimsy.
• it gives me about 180kms for a full tank excluding reserve ( I tend to fill it up at reserve) both in sane and hard riding
• After the first service I feel the bike sounds stressed on some load . I am guessing they need to adjust the tadbit .
• I didn't have any issue with cold startup as others pointed out here . However this bike has auto chock which may be the culprit for others .
I am thinking of switching oil to motul le and see if it gives any gains . I would like others inputs about that though .
Happy Riding [emoji3]
