Wonderful review of your experience. That's a very good mileage shown over there. I was reading the Manual & it says around 1 to 1.2 litres for every bar in the fuel indicator(11L total capacity, 11/9). Considering your tank is full before you started this trip, Did the bike consumed only 3.6 litres of petrol for your entire 256 km trip? Then Mileage figures should be way higher!!!
Thanks Anto.

Though the manual says 1 L for every bar, what i understood from my experience is that the top most bars accounting for more quantity while the lower bars for less quantity. When i did tank full, i filled to the brim, may be the calibration was done for bit lower level. So iam not really sure how to interpret the manual.
Currently i have done 345 ( 257 from trip + 88) and it still shows 3 bars left ( may be at the lower level of 3rd bar). probably tomorrow will do a tank full.

UPDATE:

Did a tankful (till the brim) after the low fuel indicator was ON for about 15 KMs.

Total kms done for the trip : 372 kms
Total fuel consumed : 9.5L
Mileage (T2T) : 39.1 kmpl
Mileage as per console : 40 kmpl

Refill before and after the trip

Hey guys,

Has anyone fixed side grips on their tank yet? Any suggestions where I can get these for the RR?
I am having a tough time maintaining a grip and keep sliding forward. Note that I am not interested in the tank guard that was suggested earlier in this thread.

Would be more comfortable to start touring once I get these tank side grips and the bar end weights updated (still waiting for the upgrades. Anyone in Chennai get these yet?)

Cheers and safe travels!

I have been a silent follower of the Apache RR310 thread since last one month or so. I finally took the plunge and got my RR310 home on 30-Jul from Hare Krishna TVS in Mumbai. I am loving the riding experience of the RR310 so far, only done a couple of commute's to office and back in last 2 days. Odo must be around 200 kms. I shall share my ownership experience here as I clock more km's so for now sticking to first impressions only. Right now limiting my speeds to 85 kph in top gear and totally in love with the telepathic handling of this motorcycle. It rides as beautifully as it looks. Stalled the bike on few occasions as I am still getting used to how much throttle input is needed to get her moving along, my riding pattern is the culprit as I upgraded from Karizma ZMR which puddles in 1st gear with even slight release of clutch. Nevertheless, I am getting better at managing her in 1st gear in stop and go traffic without any more stalls. I love the seat but somehow I keep sliding forward so need to find that comfort spot as the seat sure is lovely.

I second with the dineshaugustin about the front brake lever feel. It lacks a bit of initial bite and feedback, it could be deliberate to cater to wider audience taste but yes, I would have loved a slightly sharper feedback with minimal lever pull from front brake. Rear brakes I found adequate. Only in stop go traffic, I can feel a bit of pressure on wrist rest its a hoot to ride. I will get used to it soon as I am gonna ride her everyday. Headlights yet to test thoroughly however first impression is it could have been slightly better, having said that as long as someone is not riding too fast, you should be able to spot the beam on road illuminated. GC at 180 mm is good, it went over all the pregnant irregular rediculous speed breakers with ease and I am yet to test the GC in bad roads, uncalled situations which I will in coming weeks.

Now coming to specific not so good thing about my experience so far. It's connected with the TVS Dealership. I mean it was all good till the delivery day. I was informed about everything on time and whenever I asked for update, I received it. So be it loan process or delivery date or RTO process timelines, the TVS staff was apt in sharing details which is why perhaps I went for Delivery with super high expectations in my head.

I entered the showroom and the person who managed my booking was not present, fine! No issues there but while doing PDI I found a freaking screw in the rear tire. And I got pissed off but then I some how controlled my anger and asked about why no one bothered to remove the screw and fix the puncture, heck why did you guys not see it in first place or inform me in advance about this. I understand they ride the bike for around 60 kms from the warehouse to showroom and puncture can happen on road but keeping it like that was not cool. They got it fixed and I was not in mood to delay delivery or ask for tire replacement, so I let that go. Then on close inspection I found some glue sticky thing on my tank (apparently they stick in warehouse which showroom the bike is sold too, I'm guessing), I got pissed off and asked them who is the person in charge here? I told them is this how you deliver a brand new bike to your customer. The bike is not clean, it has finger prints all over it, the plastic on console and on tank logo's were removed and finger prints all over them. The lady then realized it's not just any Tom, Dick & Harry who would let this go and told her staff to wash the bike and polish it. God! I was feeling like killing them for ruining my experience. Nevertheless, after the bashing they got from me, I am hoping others get a better delivery experience. Also, the person who took my booking came there by then and apparently I was told to pay 600 odd bucks pending, I said for what? They said Sir actually your loan amount disbursed and cost of bike there was a slight difference. I said fine, here you go! Then I asked them to give me Full payment Tax Invoice and Voila they told me you will get it in email if that's fine, I said No, that's not fine. You give the final Tax Invoice right now! and I got it after 5 minutes. I am sorry to say TVS you made a lovely motorcycle but your staff needs to be trained accordingly. Forget whether it is a premium bike or not, I would not take such a careless approach even if I buy a Scooty. Anyways, this rant was only to make everyone aware of my experience.

Note - Let this not deviate any potential buyer from stepping in the showroom, as the machine is a piece of art and showroom guys were all fine till D day where their lethargic and careless attitude took over.

P.S. Initially the price quoted to me by dealer was 2.52L which included some accessories worth 6K like Body cover, Helmet, etc. I told them I want the bike without accessories which they agreed and I finally paid 2.46L OTR Mumbai for the bike. 40K DP, 5849 EMI for 48 months from HDFC.

Some pictures of everyone, more coming soon as I cover more miles. I fondly call her 'Rory' as she is Red in color and it means Red King in Irish Gaelic.

Hello Guys,
First, thanks to every member in this thread for taking time and sharing their experiences and answering the queries.

So, I'm dying to buy this beauty since a month, I think I've covered each and every video available on YouTube regarding this one. So just wanted to seek help from you guys.

After reading a lot about the existing issues, now I'm confused to buy it immediately or wait for sometime. I have 3 doubts which I'm sure would be clarified in this thread.

1. What's the latest update on the vibrations issue? Is TVS working on something? If they come up with some solution, can it be applied to the existing bikes or only meant for the new batches?

2. I heard TVS is introducing slipper clutch soon. Is this for real? Any insider info on when it's going to release it would be greatly appreciated.

3. Is it really comfortable for tall riders? I'm a 6'2, 100 kg guy. Any experiences of lower back ache?

I'm sure I'm gonna grab this beauty, but the only question is how long should I wait. I hope I'll be answered.

Kudos to you mates, keep riding!

Congratulations Sachin. Wish you a many more safe miles ahead.
Saw your post on FB RR page and i thought your name sounds familiar, now i understood.

Regarding the tyre, U should have asked for a new trye. There is no way i would take delivery of a punctured one. I still suggest you , if possible ask for a replacement.

Regarding hugger, in RR it just saves the pillion, but the rear of the bike will any way get dirt, so obviously a cleaning is required regardless of having hugger. Hence i removed the hugger and the bike looks like a super sports from rear with exposing the rubber completely.

Headlight focus need to be lifted slightly up. One thing i did is , i kept the right side focus slightly higher than the left one ( opposed to keeping both lights at same level) , and now the illumination is really great. In stock ,the dip will throw the focus very close to the bike which kind of useless.

You can go ahead with the bike. As per SVC, if TVS is planing for any update , it will be fixed to all delivered bikes also for free of cost (if they are related to any niggles)

2. I heard TVS is introducing slipper clutch soon. Is this for real? Any insider info on when it's going to release it would be greatly appreciated.

There is a rumor ( obviously) , slipper clutch will be added to the RR, but even if it is true it might be a year around. But we dont need to worry about that now, once slipper clutch version is launched ( imo, it has to be) we can fit it in our bike. Already few rtr 200 owners have fitted the slipper clutch in their non slipper clutch variant.

3. Is it really comfortable for tall riders? I'm a 6'2, 100 kg guy. Any experiences of lower back ache?

Should be fine. I am 5.11 and the comfort is really great. No back pain at all, except for some shoulder and wrist pain in the first couple of weeks .But please note that this is not a naked bikes, so the handle bar will be low and hence for initial few days you might feel a bit difficult to adjust if you are coming from a naked street bike. It has a fantastically tuned suspension ( in my experience, best till date), it is providing good ride quality without compromising on handling.

I'm sure I'm gonna grab this beauty, but the only question is how long should I wait. I hope I'll be answered.

Thanks a ton for the quick reply Dinesh Now I'm in peace. I feel assured with the answers for 1 and 3. Regarding the 2nd question, once the slipper clutch variant shows up, are you sure that we can install slipper clutch in the existing models?

Because, I've read in some articles that it's not possible to install it (they're saying it's not just mechanical but ALSO ECU related).

Any article or news regarding the rtr 200 owners installing slipper clutch in their old bikes would be tremendously helpful for me. Can you please look into it for me?

Thanks in advance mate.

Slipper clutch is a mechanical part. So it shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry, I dont have the source of the installation now. Received the pics long time ago.

Update

2nd service done or rather this is just a check-up.

The oil was brand new. Trust me it needs no change as mentioned in the manual. Seems like TVS tested it well, so they know.

Change the oil at 10000kms, it'll be fine. I changed my oil and realized it was ok not to change it.

Work done :

1. Replaced oil filter
2. Replaced oil
3. Cleaned the chain.
4. Lubed the chain
5. Check ecu for errors : no errors found.
6. Checked brake pads : Brand spanking new.

Issues faced : None.

General 2nd service bill : Rs 500~

My Bill : Rs 1365.

i don't think that is a tank slapper, but dangerous nonetheless. Keep both hands on the handlebar to avoid such scares.

You went over a bump with only one hand on the handlebar causing the bike to destabilize.
