In no way is V1 a bad bike but for just 7k more you are getting VVA, Higher ground clearence , Fi with measures instataneous and overall fuel consumption , LED headlamps, Better look and better control, more mileage , top speed equal to RC200, slipper clutch . for just a little more cash

    Advantages of V1
    - slightly cheaper, more comfortable , quality.

< or you could wait till YAMAHA clears up the quality issues from the assembly line or till the ABS version comes out>
I thought VVA is truly meant for track purpose and white led in v3 is not good for night riding. Owners please share your thoughts.

VVA and purely track........i don't think so.
Though you may not use it in your daily city commutes, it is a boon on the highways as i have seen. Remember that the bike is just 155cc and VVA was a cunning plan to up the accelration of the small bike so leading to ease of overtaking in highways and possibility of topper speed.
( remember how people go for bigger CC bikes as they have more power and accelration ) .... their aim was to provide a bike which could give the mileage of a 150cc bike in low end and still have enough acceleration in the High end. This doesn't mean it can't be used for Track

As for the headlights, Its average. Comparing to my bull and Rtr and a pulsar its almost the same level of illumination ( felt no difference )
But this doesn't mean that there weren't any problems face. projector headlamps or auxiliary are needed in all the above mentioned bikes.

Which V1 bike is being talked about here? V1 is dead, so is V2 now. It might be a stock clearance of left out V2/V2-S if the showroom has got any.
Coming to the differences, VVA has good implementation on open roads and track. It kicks in at 7400 RPM and works well too but who revs till 7400 all the time when commuting in city with mild to dense traffic? It just makes life difficult. V3 has a more committed stance which makes it slightly more uncomfortable in dense city traffic if you ride in such conditions.
V2 has metal tank and for all the worth it holds, it does look and feel nicer than fibre tank. V2 holds 12L of fuel which V3 now holds 11L of. Slipper clutch is probably not as good and smooth like Dominar but this also means it still gives good engine braking. Parts prices have gone up for V3 by about 10-20% when compared to V2.
V3 is a fuel efficient bike despite being a very focused bike.
LED headlights are probably good for small range. It isn't as strong as Dominar or Duke 390 but definitely much better than the unit on FZ25. Unless the LED headlight unit is super strong, it causes difficulty in rains and fog. Simple physics will tell you that refraction happens most for white light. That's why my 220's projector still hold better in low light conditions especially on highways where you need to flash to get past trucks.
My very dear friend owns a V3 and he's happy with it. I convinced him to get V3 when initially our plan was to get FZ25. R15 is a fantastic bike to ride in all the avatars till date. He needed a bike which he'll be using to release stress and ride when he wants to have some fun. Daily commute in city was not his priority and V3 serves him with a plate full of smiles when he rides it.
I hope this will help decide if that's what you are looking for.
Understanding the primary motive of the bike is important.
People may claim that they are using V3 in dense traffic and it's easy - may be. But then people also use Platina/Splendor/Passion/CT100/Dream Yuga/Shine for touring.
The WILL to do something always surpasses the bike's strength.
        Regards,

In the market you will get radiator cover but I think the cost is too much 2.6k

Due to ban on non ISI helmets, i would suggest your wait till dual certification helmets come out ( ECE + ISI / DOT + ISI etc.. ) and get a decent helmet like MT revenge or MT Blade which are available in all types of colors and shapes , patterns ( even Matt )

Or till then VEGA or Steelbird would be my choice

( Wear Bright colored helmets which stand out - improve your visibility before and after the accident. )

Buy a helmet which saves your head, not save you from challans or fines. I hope you must have read the article on quality of indian helmet brands (ISI marked).

Spot on about that, what is the point if you buy a motorcycle costing over a lakh and invest barely a thousand on a helmet?

Heck! I ride a 30k motorcycle and wear a 10k helmet cause I know for a fact that only the lucky ones come out from a crash either unfazed or dead, and I'm not even that smart.

Depends on the helmet in question, pricing is not the determinant factor here, Higher and 'Consistent' safety ratings.

Personally I'd stick with SHARP ratings and go with a manufacturer with enough reputation to ensure consistent performance.

Check MT axxis / mugello or Zeus 811(arnd 5k) for that price range.

                                Hi Brothers,

Am working hard for last 1 year to buy my dream bike R15 V3. Last day i went to showroom & ask all the details and other formalities for buying the bike.
They give me all information and told that you need to wait 120 days for delivery. Is that take this much time for delivery?
While leaving one of my friend in showroom told me that New V3 has some quality issue and rusting problem. Like tank pannel coming off and some parts are get rusting.
Now am so confuse because am investing this much of money and if here is no build quality its worthless.

NOW AM CONFUSE THAT SHOULD I BUY R15 S OVER V3? IS THAT A GOOD CHOICE? IS YAMAHA MAINTAINING THEIR QUALITY?
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, SO CONFUSED. PLEASE GIVE AN ADVICE.
