Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
Hello Fellow xBhpians,
Good day! I would like to know whether Jawa 42 will suit taller people (I'm 6"3 and 84kgs)? Not only on short city rides but also on quick highway runs of 100-200kms.
I haven't taken a test ride of the bike (will take one soon) but was just curious to know.
Cheers!

Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
I suggest you to go for a test ride at least twice. It is actually pretty uncomfortable for people over 5" 10 but it would be better if you experience it on your own.Originally posted by GandalfTheGrey View PostHello Fellow xBhpians,

I am 175 cms (around 5" 8 to 5"10), in the first test ride I felt uncomfortable but I have done my booking and now I own a Jawa 42 Nebula Blue Dual ABS. It is the perfect bike between my legs.
So, better experience it rather than asking.

Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
Guys, I have a question.
I am planning to purchase Jawa 42 from another state( as there are no jawa showrooms or svcs at mine). Will it cause problems if I service my bike at unauthorized local servicing centres?

Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
You will lose warranty if you service it outside. As simple as that. If you want to retain warranty, go for the service at the SVC and get it done at proper interval. Anyways most of the SVC just change oil, clean/replace filter, lube chain and wash the bike. How far is the nearest service center? You can probably get it serviced at the SVC for the paid/free services and get the odd jobs/small jobs done outside, but be wary of using any non original /OEM parts which can void your warranty perhaps.Originally posted by Arbor View PostGuys, I have a question.

Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
Nearest servicing centre would be around 400 kms away. But since it's in another state and the route is dangerous and my job doesnt allow any such leaves, I might as well say good bye to authorized svc.Won't insurance cover the cost in case of void warranty? Also what could be the approximate loss in case of void warranty and parts fail?Originally posted by tripping_billie View PostYou will lose warranty if you service it outside. As simple as that. Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
Insurance does not cover part failures, but accidental repairs. Jawa owners can comment but as per my experience most issues are with the oxygen sensor and instrument cluster fogging up + rusting at various places. 400 kms is too much just to get the bike serviced, or parts replaced. Where do you live btw? There might be a service center coming up, check with Jawa folks they are active on Instagram.Originally posted by Arbor View PostNearest servicing centre would be around 400 kms away. Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
Instrument cluster fog+rusting i can live with if the issues aren't major. I hope Jawa doesn't show any engine issues early on?I currently live in nagaland though and I don't know where I will get job transfer next.Originally posted by tripping_billie View PostInsurance does not cover part failures, but accidental repairs. Re: Jawa & 42 Ownership Experience
Could you clarify my doubt brother? I have put my bike in the parking and there is a visible scratch on my tank and I wanted to get it painted, would it cover under servicing, if not where should I go?(pretty stupid question, but this is my first ever bike)Originally posted by Himanshu Patel View PostHello Riders..
Surprisingly my Jawa 42 Nebula Blue Dual Disc-ABS delivered to me within 15 days of booking period. Booked on 30 Dec 2019 and got it delivered on 15 Jan 2020. Fingers Crossed !!
Paid in full a week before so they arranged one for me and kept it ready. Hats off to showroom guys at Jawa Vapi.
So far the ownership experience is so much satisfying as engine is so smooth and powerful as well. I am following running in procedure till 1st Service/1000 kms so didn't push it beyond 90 kmph yet but oh my Jawa. It has the punch like modern era sports bike and calmness comfort of retro bikes.. A perfect combination. As engine is new, felt some vibrations at speed 85 and above in 6th gear. I hope it will smoothed out after 1st service. Seat is hard so ordered seat cover with cushion immediately from Amazon. Got bar end mirrors installed at showroom. But minor vibrations beyond 85 kmph make them not much usable. Installed Bobo Claw Grip with fast charger. Today gave the bike for ceramic coating. Will get it back on day after tomorrow thus getting time to write this review
.
Bike is head turner at every traffic stop. Jawa didn't deliver enough bikes yet so in some cities it will be head turner for few months more. All age people from children to old uncles are getting interested wherever I go. Few common questions from them are price, mileage, exhaust note, weight, power, engine smoothness and comfort. I happily answer them all
. Bike is so nimble to maneuver in traffic. I had NS 200 previously which is aggressive while overtaking delivering quick power. But still Jawa makes me amused each time I twist the throttle. Build quality of bike is excellent. Showroom person shared info that they use Motul Synthetic Engine oil- A big relief.
Some minor issues I got with speedometer as sometimes when the key is turned on, the needle wont go full circle and got stuck in between, thus indicating wrong speed afterwards. But it gets rectified immediately after another key off-on procedure. Will get it checked in next service. Sharing some photos here from delivery day. Will update after one day ride on 26 January for more experience.

To rectify the paint, it is recommended that you must visit nearby any car paint shop. As per my observation, Jawa bikes paint quality is not good. Thus opted for ceramic coating as soon as I purchased the bike. Do enquire about Ceramic Coating in your city. They will provide solution for paint correction too. And paint damage is not covered under warranty/service.
I bought cushion seat from Amazon. Just search Sahara Seats Jawa 42. They make seats for various bikes. Rest all is purchased from the showroom.Last edited by Himanshu Patel; 03-12-2020, 11:38 AM.

Stalling issue:
Due to the stock fuel mapping at lower revs by Jawa, the bike uses to stall a lot especially in cold weather.

Re: JAWA 42 : The Explorer.
Good start, my friend has this and i have taken it for a long tour 300km+ . It's a very able bike. Worth each penny. As as far as ride position goes my friend loves it, i feel the handle bar can be raised a bit.Originally posted by Alone View PostDears,
I purchased the very first (and the last) bike in my life. This is a brief experience I am sharing with you all here. Not a review as I am no way an expert in this topic.
My physical attributes : Age : 44 + , 6 ft height, weight : 75 Kg., (Diabetic, only one eye useable
)
Driving experience: A four wheel driver for last 8 years. currently driving a Skoda Rapid, Love long drive @ high speed.
My first car was Punto 1.3.
Also riding a Mahindra Flyte scooter (bought for wife) for last 10 years. My the way I am a explorer in nature and love trekking in Himalayas alone /in group.
NEVER ride a BIKE (with gear) in life.
Why now? :
From the beginning of the career ( by the way now I am a SAP Project Manager) I had a dream of buying a classic 350/500 but due to many many reasons that never happened. But the dream never died. In last 2 years I wanted to by classic 350/500 again but found a lot issues with this bike and once JAWA launched found 100% match what I am looking for. Exactly!
Purpose :
Touring. Not to city ride. Like to explore week ends from Bangalore and Himalaya.
Booking: Because of some reason did not booked online. I booked on 2nd January @ Square Auto , Koramangala , Bangalore. Paid by card. No Test drive. Booked Nebula Blue dual ABS. The dealer tole in 8 months I will get it! I was fine with the promise.
But once october passed I got angry and told coming to cancel the booking. They tole bike is ready for delivery!
I visited the showroom and paid the 100% and other papers. delivery date set on Nov. 8th.
Delivery :
Reached on time. But the delivery took 3 hrs. for me as 2 other delivery made before mine. My friend arrived on the spot (as I cannot drive the bike , that time)
We took full take fuel ( IOC premium) and gone to Shibaji nagar derler service center to buy & fix guard, back rest etc for 3800.00 From there gone to accident ganesh temple for puja and then back to home by 9 pm.
Riding Experience:
I am Loving it! Excellent experience. As due to my lack of time drove still 170 Km only. Still learning. Gone upto 3 rd gear, 50 KM speed only. But Bangalore roods, it sucks.
First cons:
1: Seat is very hard. Planning to buy the seat cover (will be offered by JAWA) or make it from Rao seat, Shivaji Nagar ( approx. 2500).
2: Need to change the mirrors. The JAWA mirrors are useless.
3: Scooter horn in a Retro Bike ?? Need to upgrade the horn.
4: With full 2 adult persons GC is a issue. Both side & center stand hit the conners and bumps.
Pros:
1: Very bright Headlight. Will add AUX lights later for touring.
2: Very share bite front brake and good rear brake.
3: Suspension is very good.
4: Well balanced machine. Lighter that classic 350/500 and easy to control.
5: No much heat in the lag side.
6: Roaring very nicely. Grab attention & respect on road.
7: No miss gear found still now. No other issues found still now.
Safety First:
Bought till now:
1: Rynox Knee guard ( still never used) : 3.5 K
2: MT Blade Helmet : 8K
3: Aspida cotton balaclava : 350
4: Viaterra Gloves : 4700
5: Viaterra tail cum shaddel bag ( 62 Ltrs.) : 3900 approx.
Planning to buy :
6: Rynox Stealth Evo jacket/ pant
7: Riding Boots (Forma ? or Falco? )
Thanks for reading.
