          • Serious Issues!

            Guys,

A serious problem here..I had left my bike for service earlier today. Now just a few minutes before I got a call from service head who says that the front and rear discs have been 'cut' and needs replacement..The reason he quotes for this is because the both the brake-shoe were not replaced timely..And it won't be replaced under warranty too

I am yet to pick my bike from there..I would talk on this in-depth with him.But why this thing ain't under warranty..?

First,it's TVS' responsibility to let me know if the shoe-pads were to be changed..
I had changed the rear pads in the last service ..So,till then it was all good, and now with new pads the disc is gone??..A bit bothering..

For the front disc,I have been asking TVS service person to sort that squealing sound.I even asked him if there's some problem with the pads,so that I may replace them..But all was 'good' and they asked me to continue..So how can everything change so drastically in 2500km or 2 months...?

Lets see what they have to say in their favor..Hope,in between, you guys would suggest something valuable and productive..
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

              This is pure BS.

If there is premature cutting/ridges on the disc plate then it has to be replaced by the company if it's under warranty. I have got my bike's front disc plate replaced free of cost. And yes if the brake pads have been used beyond their usable limit then it can also deteriorate the disc and that can be given as an excuse by the company.

              Latest Update:
Even the rear brake was replaced under warranty, yesterday.

Are you sure about it?...Now I know why those guys were insisting again and again that it does not come under warranty!

Anyway, look how dumb TVS guys are here..The mechanic who serviced the bike says, both the rear and front discs are gone.Service head says, only the rear one needs replacement as it'd take about 1 month or so for the front to go out of shape!!!!(Still not recommending to change the pads..How dumb?)

When enquired about why I was not informed/warned about this before.Hear what our brainy mechanic has to say,"Bhaiya jo disc aur pad hotey hain na,yeh ghisne waali cheez hai..kab ghis jaaye kisse pata"

To the same query, the service head says that it is my duty to keep note of the pads.I should tell them that after every 3000km they should change the pads..They said,I am a very irresponsible owner. They also said that they warned me about it..well,just today..So they are done on their part..

I just came back home without uttering a word there..There is simply no hope when people talk s**t so confidently!

Now looking for some other TVS service center or a good mechanic around..

Thinking of sending this whole incident to TVS complain box! What say?

                      • IMO these SC fellows can do anything; I saw them changing horns, Speedos even changing bar end weights against some bribe. So, the point is never keep your bike to any SC, try to stay in front or find a Sunday for servicing.

Disc plate. Brake pads are not covered under warranty.

Try some other service center in your area or else resort to the last option.

I mean i never tried a fully synthetic oil yet but instead of going for MOTUL300V why not take this SHELL.... You can check out the images below

What is the rating of it? The recommended grade is 20W40 for RTR. So any xW40 rating will do.
