    @renny...

bro, can u plz give some tips to get more mileage from my ride without changing my riding style to "Complete decent" one?
check your clutch settings, tyre pressure, lean while riding, dont do half clutch riding/racing,use less brake/clutch,don't keep braking and accelerating

Besides, valves and tappets needs to be adjusted. At higher revs the engine feels stressed...

And oh... all these just when the ride turned 1year.
AFAIK Clutch needs replacement after 35-40k kms

yeah, the clutch setting is just fine... it ain't tight... n i do lean while cornering (that i do for better cornering, dont know y u suggested that in relation to mileage) n i dont do half clutch riding.... yeah, frequent braking n accelerating can be a cause but its the thing u can't ignore to much extent here.

          • Hi All Riders,
Just got my 5000KMS completed on my RTR180 black devil. Was thinking of switching to MOTUL 300V 15W50 Fully Synthetic oil. But what is confusing me is that after using mineral oil now shall i go ahead with Motul. Also is it necessary to clean the oil leftovers from engine completely before pouring the FS oil...or in case if there is a small amount of OIL left and i pour the FS oil i dont think that its gonna do any kind of harm to the engine....And in case if i switch back to mineral oil after using synthetic oil....so does it effects engine anyhow...please post your valueable suggestions

Ride your bike sitting upright and see what mileage it gives!

                Use semi synthetic!
Synthetic oil will be a waste of Money.
                Pour synthetic after 8k kms!

Would you please explain as to why Synthetic Oil will be a waste of money and why one should use synthetic oil after 8K and why not after 5K....

                    Guys any answer here.

Nops, it doesnt disappear of its own. It stays all the time until the noise gets eclipsed by noise of the wind when speeds build up. Is the noise coming from front i.e the engine?

What sort of noise is it exactly? Does it gets increased when throttle is increased or it remains the same all the time. More details about the noise would make things clearer for us.

Btw, Motul 300V is finally geling well with the bike. The handlebar vibs at 5-6k rpm has reduced a bit and the bike feels more gruntier(sounds) than before.

Those who are thinking of using Fully Synthetic, I would say dont splurge money on those types of oil unless you do frequent touring. No point in investing extra for something when you can do almost equally on a thing which costs the half i,e Semi-Synthetic. I would anyday recommend a SS over FS for RTR if the riding is confined within city chores.

EDIT:Tappet noise has increased a bit.

NO i dont race but often do some short trips (that too not at high speeds; around 70-80kmph). Riding is mostly limited to city driving at speeds around 60-80kmph...

oh... u said about leaning in FRONT while riding... my mistake... i took it as leaning at sides (as we do at corners)...

If you do city commuting then dont bother filling your bike with synthetic!
rather fill it with semi synthetic!
