AFAIR you're the same guy who'll be getting his hands on RTR180.
      you bought the bike??
      if no, why these questions????
buy it, log some kms on it and if it starts to give you trouble then put these questions.

      • Rainin hard in Mumbai here... I have a doubt... Does lubrication of the chain result in a noticable improvement in the torquey feel of the bike??? I am saying this because once when the SVC guy lubed the chain, i did feel a marked difference in the feel... and now with the bike not being lubed very constantly, I feel its very sluggish in the lower revs... Can it have to do something with lubing the chain???

Both the clutch are different components.

And no it will not always keep on failing every now and then. Newer RTRs are coming up with different TCis, so one-way clutch failures are a thing of past.

It probably has to do with the tightening of the chain.

And it is not the one way clutch problem as i have already got it replaced in the very beginning and hope it has not resurfaced agian. Is it the tapping sound as i have not got my bike's tapping adjusted and it has already clocked 10500kms? Any idea guys.
I have checked with a local mech regarding the above issue which is definately coming from the engine and he told that the crankling sound is coming because of the lengthnig/loose timing chain which is there inside the engine. He also said that it happened because of high speed driving. He said its not a major problem for the time being but the sound is very annoying. Now there is one more issue in my bike, now the bike is not taking self start on any gear. He said there is a switch for this and it get engaged when we press the clutch, that switch has gone bad. Any of you guys facing any of the above issue or i am the first one only here . Any fixes here guys.

            • On the eve of my ride turning 1yr old, the clutch cable has gone too loose to be used. I suspect the cable is partially broken somewhere inside. And here in Kerala, being Onam holidays, the TVS SVC are closed as are any spare parts shop. Poor me

NO! the one way clutch is no way clutch plate.
one way clutch engages as disengages the starter from crank shaft. And clutch plates engage and disengage the crank shaft from gearbox input shaft.
One way clutch allows power transmission only in one direction. while the regular clutch may be manual or automatic transmits power in both direction.

One way clutch do not wear out and it is not consumable. While clutchplates are consumables. They are bound to wear on using.

                  • this was the date on my bike when I recieved it from godown...so I think my bike may not face that one way clutch problem....but I have one query....when I press the clutch...in every gear...the rpm increases upto 3000-3500...&& when i release it ...the rpm returns to its normal 1200 or near it...all this happens when the throttle is closed .....is that a problem...or it works like that only???

Timing chain just can become loose like this, the thing has got a chain tensioner.
                              How much kms u logged???

My bike has clocked 11500 kms and somewhere around 8k kms were covered at an avg. speed of 80 to 90 kmph. may be because of high speed runs the timing chain got loosen up. The sound is definately coming from engine only. What else can be culprit here?
