  • You want to remove red tape on alloy wheels, which is something a difficult task even for mechanics also. Why don't you do one thing; u simply get the another color (which you want now to be pasted) tape pasted on your rim.
Let me know whether it works...

    Thanks
    Gagan

Usually disc brakes have circular holes while this bike has more of rectangular holes (rounded edges). Most disc locks are meant for ones which have circular holes (and hence may not fit apache's disc). So try it before you buy one.

The cheaper option is to buy a small lock (50 bucks) and lock it to your disc. Though can be easily broken For added safety buy two of them, one for each disc

      • Hey there everyone...

I have a problem...my bike has clocked 625 km and the first service is done.
Now what happens is, when i shift from 2nd gear to the third, the gear shift is not as convincing and further when i twist the throttle, sometimes the bike jerks and then settles into gear.....why is that..?? I hope there is no problem with the gearbox...the fuel cork is turned ON, and there is enough fuel..so no fuel should not be the cause..

Please let me know if anyone has any idea of what is happening...

        Cheers

          • 1000 Kms review

            Hey!

I have completed the first service on the 18th November 2010, 1 month of owning the RTR on the 24th November 2010 and the 1000 kms on the 27th November 2010. So this is how my experience has been.

            Pros:
            1. Extremely difficult to keep her below 50 kms.
            2. Haven't checked the mileage, but have tanked up twice till date, and completed 1071 kms to be exact. Also, the fuel indicator says I still have 1/2 the tank worth of fuel (Wont rely of it).
            3. Extremely reponsive in the throttle and the braking arena.
            4. Pure pleasure to ride, 95% of the time.

            Cons: (Da 5%)
            1. The gears dont shift well at times from the 3rd gear onwards. Similar to the false neutral that a few people have posted about. Informed this to the ASC in Vashi. They said they would fix it. Said it was to do wit chain setting. Faced the same issue a couple of times after that.
            2. Squeaking noise from the rear tyre. Constant squeaking noise for some distance. Noticed this when I was riding pillion. Has been prominent after the 1st service.
            3. Shaking speedo set: Had gone into a juicy pothole on one of the rides. The entire head lamp and speedo set always seemed to rattle on a bumpy road. Not to loud, bt enough to annoy me. Also, had informed the same to the ASC. Again, was told that this was fixed, and yet face the issue on and off.
            4. Not so happening tyres: Have got the feeling that the tyres will give away in the wet. Grips post 95 kmph, not very confidence inducing. Read next point.
            5. Stability post 100: Bike seems as if she wants to take off post 100Kmph. Becomes extremely light. The rear tyres starts to slightly wobble A little scary. Almost bordering, unstable. Maybe an issue with an over inflated rear tyre. (Comments/ advise on this one?)
Overall, she is still worth every rupee that I have paid for her. Great response. Amazing pick up. Would love to been seen on her for some more years.

Must be an issue with just your own bike. I mean, its not the same in other RTRs. It has some cause behind it in your bike. May be, the over-inflation as you mentioned.

I'm usually in the 1st gear at those speed. Why do you want to shift so early. Shift at 3.5k-4k rpm range (should deliver you good mileage too)

Try shifting gear at 20-21 kmph (from 2 to 3),I guess if the problem persists then there may be clutch problem!

Why shift at 4000RPM when you still have 6000RPM to play with ..
