RTR 180 TCI costs 700 bucks.I had the same problem with my bike and it's electrical were stock with the CDI too and it turned out to be a carb issue. At present it has RTR180 TCI.So clear up carb issue first. Then check the ignition coil.Go to the same electrical guy where you got the coil wound and ask them to check the bike's electrical. Most of the time with coil winding, electrical issues crop up.Were as my bike had that hicup because of a rich main jet for the stock carb while the bike is a 8.5mm over-bore.

D-day is here now for you Get ready for lots and lots of rain. It is raining like anything in Northern India. Rohtang must be like GOSH right now.

Meanwhile had another crash yesterday. Thankfully was wearing full gear (jacket, gloves, shoes and helmet... too bad I did not wear the knee guard, else I could have escaped scratch-less ). Had a nasty fall when the bike skid on the wet road (damn the car ahead, the driver braked for no apparent reason and I guess I just applied the brakes instinctively and boom). Just some abrasion in the thigh and below the knee.

With every fall I have managed to break unique parts of the bike. Once I broke the gear pedal, another time rear brake lever and this time the foot rest and the plate it is attached to plus the leg guard and handle weights.

Took this opportunity to do all the pending repairs: so had the following replaced

Entire front visor and headlight (Now it is shiny white )
Right handle bar weights (i can feel no vibrations in the handlebar now... wonder if it is the new handle bar or the hammering the SC guy did to remove the broken handle bar weights)
Foot rest and plate it is attached too (very expensive at 750 bucks)
Metal bracket which holds the console and headlight area (It was twisted. I thought it was perfectly ok but the SC guy was adamant that it was faulty. I agreed since he is a pretty decent and knowledgeable chap)
Patti which holds the rear fender to the chassis (Labour charges cost more than the actual part )

I kinda liked the feel of the bike after it was repaired. Still need to get the leg guard. The SC didn't have it.

      • Did 700-odd kilometers on Sunday, the 14th of August. Noida-Chandigarh-Noida run in less than 16 hours!

Bike fared very well throughout the journey, there were no problems at all.The engine oil it was running on is the same Shell Mineral oil (200 bucks) which has already done 2000 kilometers of its life. I am surprised that even after riding it so hard the whole day and ripping it to 120kph umpteenth times, bike still managed to reach home safe! That was without any preparations like oil-change/carb-cleaning/air-filter check..Plan for the trip came from nowhere and we left from Noida at 3 am!

Enjoyed whole day but was equally terrified the same time of taking the bike unprepared for this long a journey. Will keep that in mind from next time..

EDIT: @Social..Sorry to hear about your accident! Your bike is back in shape that's a good news. Take care of yourself too.

And definitely it's raining cats and dogs here.I have had many horrifying incidents where I went nearly down. These days I do not take my bike to anything above 55-65kph, I am very scared to even think of a crash and bruises. And above all I have a new riding jacket that I cannot wear because of some size issues.Very much annoyed for the last 1 month or so!

        • Thanks guys.. one question... where is the TCI located/how does it look like?

          • So, having finally decided on buying a RTR ABS, here are a few new queries I have:

            1) I would like to change the rear tyre for something more grippy. Loss of fuel economy doesn't matter, but it shouldn't stick out as the odd one out when viewed from the back. Could someone tell me the MRP of Pirelli Demon 110/80 in Mumbai? Or are there better options too?

            2) After how many kms should I switch to fully synthetic oil?

Lijok TCI is located right below the screw where tank is connected to frame and
to access TCI you have to unscrew that screw.
TCI unit is off Green color so you can identify it quite easily.

I got it changed under warranty when i got my cylinder kit changed. Actually the Service engineer himself changed it and said there is some issue with TCI unit and TVS is changing it.

From that day hiccup problems are gone
You can press your SVC for same.

I know you're saying that it's in the worst possible state, so i would like to ride it and see how worse can it get, because i've ridden my friend;s horribly maintained p180 for more than 50kms and the vibes are :| my legs shake after getting down from the bike :|

Plus i've made my mind and when i have, i get it, unless there's a big big problem.

Also, i've made a point in my mind to never get it serviced from aditi TVS, since you told me many things about them and i read another member's posts here saying he did not have a good experience with them.

However you said they're pretty nice while buying and all, so i might buy if they give a better price(which i doubt)

@Shivank, @abhinit90 give a try on Raj TVS Kaushambi. There are only two mechs but they are good in what they do and moreover there is no rush like in Aditi TVS noida. Till now I am satisfied with that SVC.

ahh... the green box. Ok. I'll check it. Mine has already crossed the warranty and more over, I'm not in talking terms with the SVC anymore. Anyway, will check it out and replace if needed.
Again one question - are the TCI same for 160 and 180?

No they are different and are hence color coded.Different mapping and yes now the TCI of RTR is coming with a new mapping from that of the old.
                      Apache 150 =Black.

                      RTR 160 = Grey.

                      RTR 180 = Green.
                      It'll have a 'm' indicating modified.

                      • Have a load of doubts, please answer with patience...
will turning the AFR screw clockwise make your bike leaner or richer?
what are the observable symptoms of a bike on lean mixture/rich mixture,
is lean mixture one of the possible reasons for mis firing?(phut-phut sound from exhaust)...

+1.The ignition timing is different for both bikes so the TCI is not interchangeable.

Actually, I wanna buy a digicam. I'm no pro, neither I know much about photography. As for starting, I want to buy a digicam to use it for the trips and occasions etc.. Maybe I'll also use it for clicking frames in free time as timepass (like macros or something) and my budget is around 7K INR only as I am planning to buy it from my own savings. Please suggest me some of the decent cams with nice features. Also, it will be helpful if you give some small descriptions about the features and why you recommend that cam because I am just a lay man in the field.

u can get urself a nikon coolpix s3100 for that price range..
                                14mp, 5x optical zoom, video at 720p
u would get a 14mp cam for cheaper price.. but the reason y i recommended this cam is cause its got manual controls.. and since u want for macro pics.. i personally feel its best in the range..
using it from 4-5 months [nikon coolpix s570] s3100 is the upgraded version of s570..
