Get ready for lots and lots of rain. It is raining like anything in Northern India. Rohtang must be like GOSH
right now.Meanwhile had another crash yesterday. Thankfully was wearing full gear (jacket, gloves, shoes and helmet... too bad I did not wear the knee guard, else I could have escaped scratch-less
). Had a nasty fall when the bike skid on the wet road (damn the car ahead, the driver braked for no apparent reason and I guess I just applied the brakes instinctively
and boom). Just some abrasion in the thigh and below the knee. With every fall I have managed to break unique parts of the bike. Once I broke the gear pedal, another time rear brake lever and this time the foot rest and the plate it is attached to
plus the leg guard and handle weights.Took this opportunity to do all the pending repairs: so had the following replaced
Entire front visor and headlight (Now it is shiny white
)Right handle bar weights (i can feel no vibrations in the handlebar now... wonder if it is the new handle bar or the hammering the SC guy did to remove the broken handle bar weights)
Foot rest and plate it is attached too (very expensive at 750 bucks)
Metal bracket which holds the console and headlight area (It was twisted. I thought it was perfectly ok but the SC guy was adamant that it was faulty. I agreed since he is a pretty decent and knowledgeable chap)
Patti which holds the rear fender to the chassis (Labour charges cost more than the actual part
)I kinda liked the feel of the bike after it was repaired. Still need to get the leg guard. The SC didn't have it.
