That's an awesome CBZ, man. But that orange TPFC panel is a turn-off, to be honest. Well, don't know what your tastes are. Would like to know how much did it cost you altogether. And yes, K&N will make you feel you're getting good pick-up, mileage, but then it will kill the heart slowly unless you do regular servicing, so I heard. I had plans to install K&N R1100 on my classic, but then decided to stick to stock after going through several posts/reviews about that particular mod.

Hi guys. I want to present to you my CBZ classic. This is a 1999 model, the 4th bike to launch to be exact in my city Kolhapur, Maharashtra. I have modified my bike multiple times but sold it a friend in 2006 when I left for US. I am now back in India and I bought it back from my friend because there is simply no way I can get over my CBZ. I modified it recently with the help of a local mechanic. Its a Karizma exhaust and the paint job is done by the mechanic himself. The tires and mag wheels are mechanic's choice too. I realize that the mag wheels are heavy which force me to remove the chain cover but thats OK because I never had any problems in 1 year after making these changes.

I would appreciate any input from CBZ experts here because quite simply I want to make my bike as awesome as possible. I lack knowledge in the performance section and given that the bike has gotten old and availability of parts is not that dependable, I tend to stay in safe zones when messing with the engine. I have tried the K&N filter but it gave me problems because it let in more dust than the regular Hero Honda filter so I am back to the stock filter. Anything else I could do?

Friends, are there any Puneites in this thread? I think it would be great if we form a group of Classic CBZ enthusiasts (not just owners) in Pune, so we can deal with our problems (if any), together. Reason behind this is, my mechanic, even though worked with Singh Motor and Cycles (Pune) for more than 8 years and knows everything about Hero-Honda two-wheelers, I feel he is a bit laid-back, taking things lightly and kind of "ho jayega, chal jayega, yeh aise hi hota hai" type. I'm not 100% satisfied with his work. Even though he says the two-wheeler is perfect, deep inside I know there are things which could be rectified and improved if a bit more honest efforts are put in. That's what I'm looking for by broadcasting this request. Anyone's up? Looking to hear from you at the soonest.

Thank you, Ironhorse. Clutch free play is proper, it has been checked. Will make arrangements to check the shaft and springs, as you said. Hope it doesn't take much time since I'm planing a short one-day trip (just about 200km return) this Sunday.

clutch shaft needs to be checked. along with the springs and proper tightening/torque of each bolt.
and yes the clutch cable can be the basic thing to be checked.

check the clutch free play.

Friends, I got a real problem with my Classic lately. I believe, in my earlier posts, I had mentioned I replaced the clutch plates. Ever since, gear shift has become pain in the wrong place. The mechanic who changed the plates said the stiffness will be eased after some time, but its quite a lot time since then but it is still a little difficult during shifts. I had to take her to another mechanic unexpectedly and he said the stiffness is because the clutch, when applied, doesn't disengage the plate properly, due to which even when it is neutral, the tire rotates considerably fast. Say, even when neutral, I can feel the slight momentum when a good throttle is applied. He said, this is the cause of stiffness during gear shifts since the clutch doesn't disengage the plates, which slides on each other causing stiffness. Any inputs, guys?

sirac street is a good tyre from my personal experience on fiero. On my cbz I found ceat vertigo was also very good.

Which are good replacement tyres for a cbz..i m currently using sirac street for front and rear which about 2-2.5 years and done 20-25k odd.. The front seems fine but the rear seems worn in the centre and tends to fish tail some times of late. Iv seen [MENTION=28527]sibun[/MENTION] recommend geo cruiser s but I herd they tend to skid in the rain since they hard compound . I'm using stock size . both my front and rear have developed fine cracks. I'm planning on changing them before the monsoons .I would love to hear your recommendations .

If you are planning to goto the authorized service centre please goto Nagappa motors Purasaiwakkam, the person in charge is Balaji and you can say your are my friend and he will give you a clear detail/idea. He is the person who takes care of my bike if given in the service center and knowledgeable person too.
