    bro i still have my CBZ like showroom condition with over 70k on odo however able to ride it once or twice a year but she is still my sweetheart...

    where ever you go for painting make sure you get it sanded well and primer coated and then gloss coated. dont go for local painters. rather ask mechanic to open parts take it to a good car paint booth. they might charge you more but you will have far better paint quality in the end

    1) I am thinking, why not i go for a tubeless tyre? I know i have to change to alloy wheels then. Will it affect the stability of CBZ?

    2) How much does a pair of this alloy wheels cost? And also the cost of two tubeless tyres? I guess all together it will cost around Rs.11,000.

    these are local made alloys and wont have reliability of OEM alloys. rather opt of ZMA else cbz extreme alloys. i am sure xtreme alloys will be a direct fit.
    these local alloys are heavy and unreliable and can affect stability at high speed

    3) OR... should i stick with the company recommended normal tyres?

    you can go for tubeless if you opt for alloys. no harm in that

    4) I have a tyre shop near by, will he know what type of tyre to replace or should i take a mechanic with me?

    mechanics don't have any idea of what to do specially for tyres unless he is an expert. go for stock size.hunt online for the best tyre and buy it from the shop.

    Hi Meow good to know that you are bringing back the true legend into shape..... am also from chennai..... PM your number so that we can have a talk directly as i too have the same legend. Going for the alloys you can go with the setup of Karizma alloys and MRF Zapper tubeless as i have the same setup in my bike.

    Hello all, I am from Chennai. I am a proud owner of 2003 model CBZ Classic and planning to restore it to stock condition. I am missing some plastic parts like the TPFCs and tail pannels. The rims, spokes and engine compartment are rusted. I want to repaint them and chrome plate the rims. I have learnt the cost from this thread but they are pretty old posts.

    bro you getting confused.. the screw on right side of carb. . Which ia covered by the plastic cover is idle screw.

    The screw at the bottom of the carb is the AFR.

    mouting and un-mounting is no big deal. my cbr engine gets down once a while for shim checkup and spark plug inspection though never got to do that on the CBZ. touch wood.

    The AFR is cool. It has to be the idle. Help validate. The AFR is on the side and I was able to work on it. The idle screw was missing. How could it be accessed from top mate?

    bro is your AFR screw gone bust or the IDLE screw.. IDLE screw can be accessed through the hole over the carb cover. the screw at bottom is for air-fuel mixture..

    It does indeed take a lot of work to get this bike running in the right state, but in the end when you do ride it, you'll feel that it was all totally worth it (Y)

    I still haven't got the right tune in my carb. My mechanic has given up on trying to tune it. And I don't fiddle around with it for fear of ruining what's even there.. But boy does it run absolutely perfect on cool cloudy~rainy days!
