Hi fellows... This is my FIRST thread and allow me to start with a little intro about myself. My name is Mihir. I have a Hero Honda CBZ disk brake model purchased in 2000. It has done 335000Kms and believe it or not, I haven't had to open the engine up to now! Even the clutch plates are the same original that came with the bike. Rear tyre is 7th and front I have had to change some 12 or 13 times.Until I read on xbhp about it, I did not have an idea how many people are in love with this bike. I just bought a KTM Duke 200 so was going to sell this off but now I won't... Duke was kind of revenge for the always feeble headlight of the CBZ!!! Now-a-days parts availability of CBZ is becoming a bit of problem but I am still going to keep it.

^^^ it wont kill the look that much , the fairing is the same. As a frequent tourer from ernakulam to bangalore,the need for light' was high. I have tried several bulb experiments with the stock minda, but nothing had given me the satisfaction of my current setup.

Good to see that the thread is once again active.

Ah! my first love and still is my love. I couldn't own one and instead bought the new extreme(digital model) and it is also a terrific performer. I tried getting a nice blue color classic CBZ but that idiot sold it to a donkey who didn't have any respect for the bike.

Another friend has a classic CBZ which has run 1.5 lacs km and he also has a CBZ extreme and a karizma. I thought he will sell it and i will buy but again that idiot re-built the engine and suspension and the funny thing is that i helped him re-built the engine. The re-built was spread over 14 days with me working on it on saturday's and sunday's after work.The bike now feels like new and is kicking all others in performance.

So basically luck is making me far from it but thanks to you all, your photos makes my day and again i dream for some nights of it.

For CBZ any other light kills the look. Minda and Lumax both have headlight assembly for classic cbz and is better. Else much better option is to convert into round headlight of achiever will give it a street fighter look and also light output will be far better.

Have seen many thinking of changing stock doom and tampering CBZ's looks because of lighting issue .But guys just change the stock doom not complete visor with minda CBZ doom direct fit ,plug and play.Use Osram cool blue bulb cost around 250.Am using same mod.getting superb light 10 times better than original.try it guys.

@ nirvaana : You have to change the holder, because the bulbs are different. It gives n' times better quality lighting than the blurry stock. But a slight tilting of the complete fairing is required, otherwise the beam goes to the trees ;-)

The hunk silencer is more silent at lower revs, and it sounds the same at greater revs. You must use the stock header pipe of cbz.

That headlight is looking rather nice. What difference you felt after that upgrade? Any other mod like battery, bulb, electrical?

I have a solution for headlight issue. honda shine's reflector,, although its not a plug n play option, but suits best for our cbz classics.


Mine, 2001, hunk's silencer fitted due to the unavailability of stock one.

Welcome back man. You have basically three options IMO - black, silver and red. Silver will be very similar to the original spoke rims while red will be difficult to match with the body color. I feel black will suite the most. Just Google out some pics

It's good to see the thread alive and rocking like it used to be!

Well, it has been a much time that i haven't checked this. Good to see lovely, Charming CBZ's in pictures and their discussions.

Do we have anyone from Delhi here on this thread - We can have an offline catch-up/ride on weekend.

Couple of queries i have if someone can address:

- Does anyone have used off-road tires on CBZ classic. if yes, please share the details.

- I'm using Red CBZ with Golden alloys and is keen to change the alloy color scheme - If you have some idea/have seen a red bike (any) with a different color alloys. Please suggest.

I am planning to do some changes on my CBZ (Cosmetic + Perf based) to give her a new feel.

Looking forward to have some valuable advise/discussion on this.

My 2nd CBZ .took it 2 days back.Some works need to be done myself to make it stock condition.Will update it regularly with pics.

Its new model cbz extreme alloy right. how much is cost bro.it looks owsome and is very light weight too,,,paint it in white will look much better.
