  • Logging in after weeks... college and work have me tied!

Guys, the 150's tuning is fine. Found the RPM surge and kept it at that setting.

However, bike is harsh above 5k RPM in top gear. Also, there is a very strong metallic noise at 5k RPM. I think it's the tappet gone haywire but it seems to be a bit harsher than that noise normally is. Any ideas why the engine is straining so much at high revs?

Also, could the tyres be a reason? They have about 2000 km of tread left in them and the tubes are half rotten. I don't want to change the tubes now since I am gonna change the tyres in October.

How sad, yet true. I am with you 100%. Regretting not going in for the P200 when I had the option. Or even better still, a T-Bird.

Today while coming to Office I observed that the entire Brake & footrest assembly is moving up & down on bad patches. Checked & confirmed that yes there is indeed something loose or missing somewhere as If I push down the rear Footrest the footrest, Silencer & the part holding all this moves down.

I see all the nuts that can be seen on front to be there & I also checked with another RTR in the parking, so this is certainly an issue.

        Anybody has any idea?
What abt the swing arm bolt/nut?

The RTR Fi in my knowledge does not have a hell lot of issues...its pretty trouble free; what puzzles me is, why not the new RTR 180??? It's most definitely more bang for every buck that you invest.

Yes, ur right about the 180. But after taking the test drive, i found that there is something that stands apart in FI, Don't know excatly. But i'm very satisfied with the FI. Any other points to justify my statements??

The amazing exhaust note that the Fi has...I can never forget it as we witnessed one of the Mumbai xBhpians take a test ride on one of the very first RTR Fi in the xBhp circle.

Personally, I would still go in for a 180. New machine, lots of R&D invested in it, Fast, better dynamics and better colors too

just go back few pages and you'll see the image of the new injector i posted in the thread, that's silver in colour and irons put all the issues the FI had,and the new batch of FI are comin with that only...so you can gp buy the FI with super peace of mind, but tell me one thing wats wrong with the 180 that too with 3-4 grand less and remember it has carb so you can fiddle with the settings too......

Thanx for the pic renny, Dont know man, 180 didn't impress me as much as FI did, Not offensive over the 180. I personally love the 180 but there is some oomph.. factor that has made me go with this decision and thanks to it's exhaust note which is of heavenly and that is missing in 180. I also feel that Fi is faster and more efficient in power delivery compared to it's predecessor. Dont know if it's the exhaust note that is making me think that and also the bike will be put in a lots of chennai-coimbatore-madurai visits somewhat like touring and i hope a FI doe's this well without any hassles. Am i right Renny??

Your bike is definitely running rich. It might be coz of a clogged air filter or ur bike is running rich. How is the mileage of your bike?

                          • I have found that someone else [Ursrajj12] faced my problem by going through this thread http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tr-fi-386.html
Even i used to face the frequent switch off problem but nowadays not so frequent.
