I forgot take the snap of the old cillender wall, but there was a heavy scartch mark on the one side of the wall, and the glossy stainless coating of the palce was rip off, and it become black. Don't know why?

Now what your suggestion regarding runin? I have already completed 70km after the job and the most part of it between 50kmph once above 65 though.

i have to say that the simran suzuki svc is one of the most professional and neat places i have ever seen. it reeks of pure japanese standards and philosophy.

            • wheel locking problem

              Hi Guys,
Today morning in a traffic signal i hit a santro . It was raining and i was not speeding was around 40km/Hr. When i applied the brakes the wheels got locked and this led to the collision . And lost around 900 bucks for the scratch in the bumper of the car and the plastic cover of the rear indicator got a scratch but not completely broken.

1)I have heard that tvs tyres are not the best any recommendations which is the best tyre for my rtr-FI can i fit a tubeless tyre to the rear as the wheel size is 18" . I cannot use apache rtr 180 rear as its 17 " .

2)Also came to know about abs from www.saferideabs.com. has anyone tried it?

              thanks in advance guys.

You can get it from any TVS SVC...should'nt cost you abv 390/-

BTW you get aftermarket pads for just over 100 bucks.....am using one for the past 9k kms its still good enough to last for another 4k kms may be!

RTR pads are a direct fit to ZMA

                    @kauria

Am not sure abt the runin....i maintained speed upto 55kmph till the 1000kms was over and did 2 100kmph stint in between.

But when my cylinder kit as changed i did'nt do much runin.... mech asked me to use it normally...how ever i runed it in for the first 200kms then was riding it till abt 7k rpm. started ripping after 1.5k kms.

no issues with it till date!

In raining, most tyres lose their grip as the normal road gets slippery. Although MRF Zapper-Q (100x90x18) is one of the most recommended tyre for RTR, but with my experience, follow some changes in you riding. This can help you in avoiding such slips.

                        1. Whenever it seems that its going to rain, try to reduce tyre pressures a little (Fr =20~22, Rr =28~30), This will make more contact area resulting in more roadgrip.

                        2. Try as much as you can to apply progressive braking. Apply both brakes simultaneously but main point is that you increase press and squeeze on brakes gradually. Hard braking WILL lock the wheels.

Changing tyre will result better grip in partially wet or slightly wet roads.

About saferideabs, its not certified by any authority. And moreover, its not any ABS, its just a pressure regulator. You have read it to apply full brakes, this thing doesnt let this pressure apply to the brakes, instead it increases that pressure gradually. So, its a Risky Proposition.

                        Agree guys??

Hello i recently installed ABS on my karizma and it works like a charm

                            1. Front braking stablity has improved
                            2.Installation was easy
                            3.looks good
                            4.cost 1250

please dont expect too much from ABS device it is not full proof that you will not slip or fall cause of not driving your bike properly however this device helps eliminate wheel locking issues while hard emergency braking
