  • satish, u wanna hear my story on how i got robbed for the tyre change.. if it could make u feel better

went to replace my rear tyre (was dunlop monster)

darn metro tyres @ mumbai suggests me to go for a 120/90/18 tellin me it is the best of all the tyre he has! 2600/-.

he said "since the rear is tubeless why dont u go for a good front tubless too?"
    i bought a IRC 100/90/17 front.. 2400/-

two days later i found its been an over kill.. went back to him and told him to replace the rear tyre with a small size..

he says, I rode it atleast for 1000 kms (actually i rode not more than 30kms) and the middle tread is missing (which was not there in the first place) and he took the tyre back for 1600/-

bought a m45 (tubed tyre) for an extra 1200/- bucks!

my rear is back to tubed tyre and i have a front fat tubeless (which is supposed to be a rear tyre, which i later found out.. darn i am a fool)

then changed the front from some other shop with a dunlop (2.75*17), which turned out to be way too small and still riding with it!

    amen!
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

    • @Razor, that's one heck of a bad experience...

@Satish, the R15's rear tyre costs Rs 1500 and the front about 1100. I think you knew this...

u should have told me when we spoke last week... I'd have sent them along with the engine oil.

            • guys, what is that electronic device that they use in the service center to tune the engine? (i guess it shows the rpm)

i usually tune my engine four and half rotations from the closed screw.. he said, since the bike ages in time, he had to use it! any idea what it is?

                • @ Satish:
The rear tyre looks good, but I have a query. What kind of response one should expect in rains with it. Although it has more surface contact area, but will it be able to negotiate skidding??
                  Yes....

Well i did ride in 2 small rains since yesterday. i have'nt stressed the rear tyre yet courtesy non working rear brake! No where did the rear slid out. But i will reserve my comment till i get the bike serviced and then explore its potential!

But am more than satisfied with the r15 front tyre.....its just F$%King awesome!
