Also i want to know whether this makeshift valve is a permanent solution for tubeless tyres ?

    Hi,
thanks for the approval. Last week i checked in a puncture shop and air was leaking from valve, maybe it was too old. he used a new valve and no problem till now.

    Thanks,

Coolant does not have any lubricating properties.
It will damage the engine and your engine oil will look like Mayonnaise.
You need a radiator and water channels in a engine to put coolant .

Always remember that coolant and oil are not good friends.

I suggest use the money for petrol instead of going for these performance mods if you're looking for mileage.
Tyre, you can go for MRF zapper Q 120/80-18"

          Hi,
It was my 5th free service in TVS svc and they suggested to add the 3M coolant along with engine oil(TVS true 4T) . Now i am feeling the gear shifts are little hard and starting problem is there anytime during the day. whether i should continue using it or drain off immediately and fill new oil.
          Help guys..

            WT$,SVC recommending coolant ?
Drain it immediately fill new oil and change the oil again after 100kms to flush the residual coolant.

            • Air leakage?

              Hi guys,

I got stock TVS tyres changed after 7500 kms (they are relaxing under my bed ) and went for Zapper Q. TL 90/90 17" in front and TT 100/90 18" at the rear.

My problem is - air is reduced to 17 psi from 30 in the front tyre after 500 odd kilometers.
Rear one reduces only by 5 psi to 30 from 35 psi.

This behaviour has been the same since I changed tyres 11,000 kms back.

Should I get the valve checked in the front or is it normal that tubeless tyres lose air sooner? Or should I fill more than 30 psi in the front? (Which I think is already more than the 25 psi that is normally filled in Indian bikes)

Or should I just live with it?

                Hi,
sorry to mention it as coolant. just now checked my bill, it was 3M engine oil plus 50 ML added as an additive. will this cause starting problem or tight gear shift ?

                Thanks,
                Vinoth.

                  Hi,
I also faced the same problem when switching to tubeless in front. later found the makeshift valve done for the tubed rim was leaking and later changed in to a new one. it is fine now..

                  • Hello Friends,

I've been using RTR 160 carb version since Aug 2007, since last few months i am facing weird series of issues for e.g.
                    1) Vibrations (though it is a known issue in RTR) at above 3K RPM which is annoying.
                    2) Tilting towards to left side, and sudden jerks.
                    3) Braking at 30 or 40 KMPH entire bikes shakes like a quake (am not daring to go above 65KMPH these days )
                    4) Losing the pickup, power in between.
                    5) Losing the grips on tarmac (Please don't imagine the WET road conditions)

OVER ALL I AM LOSING THE CONFIDENCE riding the RTR

Bike have clocked 46K, have changed the rear tyre to Zapper Q 110/90 in 2008, recently changed the both sprockets, clutch plates etc.

Not much mods though, any Experts suggestions on above mentioned issues.

Presuming a cone/ fork can be a culprit or do you guys think both the RIMS are damaged? also changing/ replacing a block piston or boring it from local garage would solve the issue? pretty much in confused state at this moment...

                    Please input your precious advice's.

                    Cheers,
                    Amogh.

Might be solved if other issues are fixed, lets look at other more troublesome issues.

                      2) Tilting towards to left side, and sudden jerks.
Tilting may be caused by damaged fork. Better get it checked.

                      3) Braking at 30 or 40 KMPH entire bikes shakes like a quake (am not daring to go above 65KMPH these days )
Again, forks which might be playing with the alignment. You may get your brake shoes checked too if they haven't been replaced for the last 20k kms.

                      4) Losing the pickup, power in between.
Decarbonise engine if not done in last 30k kms.

                      5) Losing the grips on tarmac (Please don't imagine the WET road conditions)
Stock TVS tyres are harder compounds, which last for atleast 30k kms. You changed to Zappers which are softer, provide better grip but there life is shorter (20k kms). Check the treads on the tyre and better change tyres if worn out.

Better get it done from a trusted SVC.

@ Madhav, thanks a lot for your reply mate.

I'll be visiting TVS SVC today are tomorrow, main problem is overall steering forks, cones etc.

Decarbonising the engine which i've not done it since last couple of years, i shall get done.

Surprisingly tyres are not worn out, hence i am wondering what is causing the issue?

                        • Hi guys. My hyper edge was giving low mileage and poor performance, so thought of tuning carb. Did it today. The rpm was pretty stable at 4k, so set that position. Did open the spark plug cap but couldn't understand which portion of it should be checked to examine the fuel air ratio. Please help. Also, could anyone please tell how many revolutions of fuel screw from the leanest position is ideal for rtr160? Thanks

                            • @Kantu, Thanks. I had set it at 4k for tuning purpose, set it back at 1.2 afterwards. Bad choice of words, my bad. How many revolutions of the screw should I use for an optimal mixture?

For better FE, ride at 4000RPM. <5000RPM.....every bike has an optimum FE range. Sometimes it is said to be 70%-75% of Max. Torque RPM. Use that method to get better FE.

For performance, you can't get two at a time. Now in RTR upto 3500RPM performace is sluggish, performance comes after 5000RPM....5000-12000RPM is pure fun.

And for your concern, Since how much KMs did you service? how old is your bike?
