But the front brake noise started after some 20-25KM riding after the service. And I have noticed the noise on other RTR's as well. Do I have to get a new set of brake pads? Or is there any temporary fix until the next service.. The braking performance has not changed at all, its just the annoying noise.I'm experienceing the same since the day I've bought my RTR. It's been 9 months. Haven't found any solution till date. Gonna change all the brake pads tomorrow. I hope that'll fix it.Originally posted by haxor View Postmaybe dirt has gone into the brake pad and disc,wash it with a water jet!it shud work
Btw, TVS after-sales service is simply terrible.

Ride with gently applied front brake for 4-5 kms at 40- 50 kph, in 2nd-3rd gear. Release the brake after every 500-700 mtrs for a second or two. This will bed the pads properly with disc, clean the pads and burn any oil, or other diposits.Originally posted by iChaitanya View PostI'm experienceing the same since the day I've bought my RTR. Note: ride on empty rode, as brake may fade for some time due to high temprature. After this, it will become crispier and better.There's lot to it other than saddle....

Time to Adjust valve clearence, Your regular Authorized service center will doOriginally posted by adityathebeast View PostHi Guys, I need a small help. My bike RTR 160 (Hyper Edge) has done 9500Kms. But I could hear some vibrating noise when on high rpms. I thought that this noise would be coming from a loose nut bolt on the head, but all the bolts were tight. I still can not figure out from where this vibrating noise is coming. Even when I am wearing the helmet, i am able to listen this noise. Yesterday I started the bike and tried to figure out the noise. I heard some noise was coming from the engine but it was different from the noise which I was listening before while driving.
Secondly, do anyone know a good mechanic specially for TVS in Gurgaon.

Hi Guys,
I crossed 14k kms on her in 18 months. So far it has been a happy ride. Had a couple of scary moments but so far she has hold on with me.
I know this is not the end & it is just the beginning of many more miles to come.
Ok now back to the facts. I did the 7th service and so far it has been the most expensive one with 1838/-
Changed the front disc pads & SPEED Sensor as it had gone kaput.
Details from Bill:
General Service M/C-> 250/-
Wheel Beading Check -> 80/- (I had asked to check the wheel alignment)
SAI O/H -> 150/- (I guess this is brake fluid..Not sure though)
DISC O/H -> 250/- (Maybe the disc pads)
CHAIN LUBRICATION SPRAY -> 65/-
Consumables -> 27/-
DISC PAD REPLACEMENT -> 60/- (I think this is service charge. Not sure though)
KIT Pad ASSY - APACHE/RTR(FRONT DISC) -> 224.56
SPEED SENSOR - APACHE RTR -> 402.63/- (Man!! I feel this is too much)
3MOILPLUS -> 114.04/- (Coolant is what they said)
Then with VAT+Service Charge it finally reached Rs.1838/- (Phew!!
)
Guys do u feel there is anything they have charged extra in this.
I mean have they tried to fool around.
But what ever the bike is butter smooth after that.

Can we use this tvs chain lube with other bikes?? Any other cheap vfm solution?Originally posted by julianpaul View PostI thought the big one was 375??
I didn't wanna buy a big chain spray bottle, but couldn't find the small one anywhere in bombay. Finally got a 100ml one at a tvs svc in kerala for about a 100 bucks.

ReallyOriginally posted by kantu View PostThis is covered under warranty.
I replaced mine @16k KMS (was just 1.5 years)
Damnitt!!
By the way I did my service from another TVS dealer & not the one from where I bought this bike. Is that the reason they didn't even mention about it? Can I claim anywhere or only from where I bought the bike?

Actually you can claim at any authorized TVS SVC, but as I have seen it here they wont accept it unless you are a regular. For this purpose I get all my services(free + paid) done at my dealer SVC(Ashwa TVS) for any major issue I will go to other good SVC(Zen, Bridgestone )Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostCan I claim anywhere or only from where I bought the bike?Last edited by kantu; 06-21-2012, 06:38 PM.site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

Nah its not coolant, its an engine oil additive.Originally posted by PsychoRider View PostThe Apache's engine is air cooled. You don't need any coolant. Better clarify with them.

Sorry not a coolant..They add it to engine oil for better performance and it will act like semi-synthetic oil...Felt bakwaas...but my friend do add this stuff to his engine oil everytime and he says its good and the engine doesn't get heated up fast...Btw he uses TVS oil everytime...Originally posted by PsychoRider View PostThe Apache's engine is air cooled.
