  • FI for sale

I wouldn't ordinarily put something like this on the forum but i figured it would help two owners at least.

I'm leaving for dubai in a couple weeks time and have to sell the bike. It's a grey fi, MH-06 reg, bought sep 1st, 2008. no issues which some FIs are facing like missing, choking etc. Please do not reply on this forum, instead pm me or email julianpaul at hotmail/gmail.

initial stages like if ur bike is purchaced in oct-dec 2008 thn it's of 1st lot....

you can easily sqeeze out 60-65 from FI....

but the hard part is u have to be gentle in throttle inputs and keep ur bike in 3000-5000 region which is why my avg is now 45-50.....

              • Tight everything!!!

Guys, i juz checked all the nuts of my FI today...im done with 250kms till now...suprisingly almost all of the nuts were loose (atleast 3 full circle needs to be tighten) especially wheel axle nuts (front & back), rear shock absorber nuts, silencer hanger nuts, bumper nuts, horn clamps, nuts behind front number plate which holds the front shock absorber tube..luckily i tighten all of these with the help of local mechanic.. i dont know why these are kept loose while manufacturing...

just dont rev hard. Let the bike build up speeds on its own and dont push it. and keep ur rpm below 5k all the time. BTW i did this run completly on the highway.

If u got ur bike after jan/feb 2008 then ur's is from the 2nd lot. mine is from the first. ur chasis no has all the information which we wont be able to decode

                    • My 200cc Fiero with 20 odd bhp would return 43kmpl in city under decent riding conditions (between 5000-7000rpm mode) and then 47kmpl on highways with the rpms around 7000-8000rpm. Thats where the torque peak is and its most efficient there.
60kmpl from a 160cc 15hp bike is no big deal.

                      • Last week, I was riding my bro's RTR & I noticed something peculiar. Was wondering if someone could guide me on this.

Traffic wasnt too heavy so I was revving the nuts off the bike for some time. After a while though, the traffic became excessively heavy & I was inching forward. The engine was pretty hot by then (even though I was placing my hand away from the engine, I could feel the heat coming off it). Anyways shortly afterwards I realised that when I was letting go of the accelerator (being stop go traffic & all), it wasnt returning to the idle of 1500/1600 odd rpms in a linear manner but instead the revs were dropping first to 2000 rpms & it was staying at that for 5 - 10 seconds and then it was dropping to idle. This happened till the traffic cleared. Wasnt able to test the bike later but is this normal behaviour when the engine is pretty hot ?

@ Rennycornelius But some queries from you bro.which option do you think are more accurate xcept the full to full tank methods given below:
1:I fill my tank full run for some odd 50 kms then full the tank again. And do the calculation part
2:We have a indicaror that starts to glow when the fuel reaches 2.5 lts.We can do some approx calcilations with it na???

                          • Saty : just running the bike for 50km wont give an accurate result. Why?

For example, after u again fill up. Even filling 50ml more than what should go in the tank will lead to variation in fuel economy
                            - filling 1 L will mean 50kmpl
                            - filling 1.05 L will mean 47.6kmpl!

Whereas if u ride the a lot, say for around 200km, and then fill, the variation will come down. in other terms, scope for error comes down
                            - filling 4 L will mean 50kmpl
                            - filling 4.05 L will mean 49.4kmpl...
