Now how did u adjust the mudgurd?
Seems that RTR comes with fully adhustable ideas like, mudgurd, front soch spring, gearlever, brakelever, handel, chain headlight, rear shocks any idea about others Hope we can adjust the front fork by clicking one or two screw shortly.

I just loosen the mounting bolts, lifted mudguard from front, which lowered it from rear side and retighten the bolts. This increased the distance between mudguard and silencer by 10-11mm. And after that i tried ENDO also. Its no way touching the silencer, and fork telescope tube displacement is 105mm exact.

The problem as because i did repeatedly heavy ENDOs on slopes also and as i mentioned, distance between mudguard and silencer was 104mm, while displacement of telescope specified is 105mm.

I added 20ml fork oil in each tube. The ride is now damn good, No bottoming on Endo too.. And the suspensions are not feeling like cushion.

Then R15 which is like dream bike with a price tag for which my heart will need to go out against my head .. I am not interested in other two bikes. RD and RTR 180 both are carb, I know that, but if RTR 180 is coming with so called smoother engine, long wheelbase, better tyres ... I think I should wait for that at least to compare it with RTR FI. Moreover main problem would be easy fixes for problems ... no normal mechanic can fix FI as against to carb one. Though second thing does not concern much as I am going to use it in bangalore which has enough TVS ASCs.
I agree with that bro even i am waiting for rtr 180. Any how rtr fi will fit for me(for mileage)

the FI lacks in tyres so tht can be changed later on,and those 30 mm's in 180's swingarm will be makin it more stable at high speeds but ask anyone in this thread and you'll know what a brilliant handling package RTR/FI sports....

and i think the new batches of FI are comin with tht missing issues sorted out and if it's true thn it's a deal for 75 grand........
Let the rtr 180 come we all gonna discuss about that till then leave the poor machine alone

                • problem got solved..

                  hi all,
as i had complained of bike switching off and bike making sound as if no petrol and then swtiching off got resolved...

took it to some venkateshwara tvs... explained the problem.. they took the byke inside and gave it back to me in 20 min... crap.. they soplied the complete settings.... was pissed off...

took it to ashwa tvs in BSK second stage bangy. explained the problem.they came as pillion and found out the exact problem.. then service manager rode the bike and made me pillion... he took the byke directly to service station.. as them to increase the RPM from 1200 to 1300... removed the spark plug and checked some setting and adjusted it.. puffffffffffffffffff.... all problems gone. byke back in very good shape.. the service manager was very knowledgeable. then he explained me the problem.

                  1) byke switching off... that was due to low RPM... ideally we need to keep something more than 1200 ..

                  2) byke switching off as if no petrol is due to spark plug adjustment not done properly in first service.

was very happy with explanation given. and they were very kind to rectify the problem....

if some FI users have this problem.. then now u know waht to do...

                  • ^^^^^^^

the FI's normal RPM is 1500 not 1200 atleast this is what my bike is showing from the day one and the missing problem is still thr...

and regarding the spark plug theory u gave i have 3 plugs....one IRIDIUM(CR7EIX) and two the ones which comes as OE(twin electrode)...

i tried all three of them with proper and exact gaps (0.6 mm) but the prob still persists...

currently i'm running the reg plug (rotated at 4500km)...

                    i guess you're lucky.....

                    • My bro is out-of-station, so am riding the RTR day-in day-out. A few observations after 3K kms!!!

                      1. The idle rpm after cold start is at 1K only!!! After heating up it settles to 1.2K.
                      2. Keeps switching off at signals etc. This very much is due to the idling.
                      3. Tappet noise significantly high now.
                      4. The vibes has reduced a lot now than it was during run-in. Earlier the vibe was high, pronounced and almost resonant during that 4.5K - 6K mark and not much above or below it. That 4.5K-6K vibe has reduced now and its a continuous ringing vibe thru'out the rev-range. The rider pegs don't vibrate so much, but the pillion footpeg is like....
                      5. No over-heating etc. Am running MOTUL mineral for the past 2K kms.
                      6. Occasionally the bike gets stuck in Neutral while shifting from 1st to 2nd.

All in all, the bike is still a HOOT to ride around!!!

any noticable change when using the iridiuim plugs?

are you using motul 3000? is it better than the OE oil?

Even i took it to the SVC this week, there even they adjusted my spark plug and checked it but the problem persists..specially where the bike switches off without warning

Bang on Aparajith...specially with points 1, 2 and 6...teh vibes are great...specially for pillion...have just completed around 1500 kms so i guess it mite take time to go. in fact just rode for around 200 kms on Saturday in about 5.5 hrs and at the end of it my hands and feet were still vibrating for about 5 mins after i had come home!! much worse for my pillion.

Though still have no clue what to do about the bike switching off...happens mostly in high traffic situations. anybody in Mumbai know of a good TVS SVC where they could identify and rectify the problem.thing?

                          • Completed 1000 km yesterday Is it alright to start revving high now? Say 7k for a full minute? Or should I wait till second service just to be on the safer side?

BTW, the idle rpm is around 1.2K in mine... NEVER faced switching off problem so far (touchwood )!

Check the idling. there is an idle screw available for adjustment. Use it. It can be done on ur own. No need of ASC.

@Trigger: Yes, MOTUL 3000 20W40. Way better than the OE, IMHO!
