Try philips headlamp and as u expalined on your blog, remove 3 point toggle switch, connect original wiring, connect headlamp wires to relay drive coil and direct battery supply for head lamp.

And regarding efficiency, my RTR is giving me 53kmpl on mixed riding conditions. I am using stock sparkplug and single outer air filter ( i clean it every 500kms).
Thanks man, but if u put a diagram then it will be more helpfull for me

    • Hello friends. Tomorrow i am taking my new RTR efi from the showroom.
I had taken test ride of the bike on a rainy day, and i had felt the rear tyresd to be slightly slippy. And after lot of talking with the sales manager, he agreed to take the stock rear tire for 600 rs & he is ready to fix me the tyre which i will buy n give.

So am now looking for a good rear tyre.
75% i will be riding on good tarmac road & rest in gravel sand roads.
Which is the best option for me with a budget of about 1500-1600 rs??

Here in cbe, MRF Zapper Q is available for 1500rs with tube. How good is this tire for my riding requirement?
& is buyback rate of 699 rs for the stock tire a good deal ?

      • Firstly congrats for the new bike!

I have no Idea about the buyback rate, but its definitely kind of tvs to give you money for the tyres :P

Go for the Zapper Q, You may also want to have a look at MRF VYDE.

A lot of people here (including me) ride with the Zapper C 3.00 x 18 (yeah you read it right ) Its better than the stock, (has no poser marks) but are bloody good in terms of performance and are lighter!

You might also want to change the stock front to Zapper Fs 2.75 x 18

        Cheers!

        • @Satyen , Thanks for sucha sudden reply
Stock tire size is 100/80 naa?
so upsizing to zapper 1 110/90 18 will be ok?
& regarding zapper C 3.00x18, i will check that also.
BTW how big is 3.00x18 compared to 110/90 18?
actually right now am riding a rx wit 3.00x18 and the width of tyre is jus ok for rx. For apache it will be looking really slim naa?

110/90/18 Has been done a zillion times here in this thread itself
There are people who have been riding with it with no complains...

Also if I am not wrong Zapper Q is also available in 100/80/18 and 100/90/18 options.

The Zapper C 3.00 x 18 is a smaller tyre, but I really doesnt look very skinny.

It will surely look skinny in front of the bikes with upsized tyres and\or the FZ, but they will have to ride really hard to have a look at your bike when its running

My exams are going on, so no time to draw new diagram. I just edited your diagram. Sorry.

I have removed the toggle switch only. The toggle switches create resistance after certain period, and work well with low loads upto 2-3 amps. I discovered this while playing with electricals of my premier padmini, in which i have added lots of gadgets, and used toggle switches or push pull switches on it.Toggle switch is the reason for magneto heating. Go for thicker cable running directly from battery to relay. Headlamp wont work with engine off, as relay is driven by stock headlamp circuit.

Heck its been almost 7 months since ive seen 130 mark on my bike
ya true for tht looooong stretch is required....
last i did on my bike was 126 i acheived that in less time i think i may cross 135.......

but mostly it gives me 40 so you can imagine how i ride
ride FI below 4000 all the time with gentle throttle and it awards with 75kmpl...

with my riding i'm gettin 45-50kmpl.......

He told me to stick to the stock plug as it has better heat range. He guessed that my air screw is moving automatically due to vibes and thus the economy effect. But I found its beat sticky, though I have marked the position, let see another 200 km. Any idea?
iridium is of no use in RTR....
except for the better spark it does nothin and tht's not even noticable so stick to the original Bocsh plug....

man tht's impossible tht the air/fuel mixture screw will move from vibes...
mark ur screws position and ride the bike at the "vibration" range(5000-6500) and see weather it moves or not...if yes (which i seriously dont think will) fit it with a spring...

Yappy! changed to 14T sprocket. I liked the performance. I tried wheelie too, though it took little more throttle, I am satisfied. And pillion also will be happy as he won't scare(i haven't tried yet). Efficiency i got is 56kmpl, with mixed use, over 53kmpl with previous sprocket. top speed i clocked is 118kmph(obstacle occured. had to slow down, road is also not so good), On the curves i used to take in 4th on inclines, i needed to shift to 3rd for a while. thats the only thing i am missing.

What about the vibes? What's the difference now? When I had changed the rear sprocket to 37T, the vibes were almost completely gone till the 100kmph mark. I had to change back to original because the chain was too loose and I don't want to shorten the length of the chain.

                        • ABS Kit for motorcycles

                          Hi guys,

Just browsed about ABS for bikes, and found this at www.saferideABS.com
Do anyone have any clue about this. How reliable this would be?

I really feel the need of this ABS in rear disc brake.
                          Yes....

Dude These are not ABS... they are just pumps which will control the fluid flow into the brake.... Google around... the ABS thingy is all over xBHP now.... almost like SPAM!

Well that diagram on that morefoto was posted by me , i had that toggle switch cause if the battery is drained then you will be totally blind at darkness of night , so for that time you can toggle the power source to magneto, now as you are saying you dnt see any battery draining issues ? have you moded the charging system to some extent , and is your bike EFI or Carb RTR , like in case of EFI bikes battery is always loaded to some more extent due to the fuel pump running on battery i guess , also horns are using battery power as well , so really curious how can the battery accomodate all these loads , betw , have you tested or tried to go for really long ride with your 55/60 lamps turned on ?
