i just noticed it on my bike just with the iridium not with the spitfire..Originally posted by HydBiker View PostDunno about the K&N's. You should go for it only if you know the correct jet number to up-jet, can procure one and can get the job done confidently well. Else you are spending money and a lot of effort to screw your engine.
The Iridium Ix spark plug with Spitfire cables... well, there is a difference. I have tested 3 RTR 160's (one is a RTR 160 Refresh) one day on the same road. One bike was accelerating considerably faster past 80KMPH. The refresh was in good condition and doesn't have those irritating vibes between 6-7K RPM. But still one of the RTR's was accelerating way better than the other two at higher speeds and there's less vibes on this one at higher speeds.
The only thing we could point to on this bike was that it has Iridium spark plug with spitfire cables.
Now, it is upto each individual to decide whether that is what they want or not and whether they think that gain is worth the money they'd spend or not.
Satish, are you in line with my observations?
Also, I've recently added a GPower (Platinum) plug to the RTR Refresh and the high speed acceleration is now a little more crispier than earlier. Frankly, this doesn't fetch anything great to you and most people cannot notice the difference. I guess it is the Iridium + Spitfire cable that made the difference noticeable.
but sir i didnt liked spending so much on that plug...
(PS: my opinion

My take - it make a diff, but not worth those 1000bucks you spend on it. if you got the moolah and have an itch to do something to your bike, then try it!

RTR baby............Originally posted by sam92 View Post@ HYDBY---my bike vibrates like a foot massager in the 6-7 RPM range
but it dissapears when it crosses 7 RPM

yes it's definately not worth that much bucks...Originally posted by sam92 View Postit is not THAT '''WORTH IT''' i mean 550 for a NGK and 500 for a spitfire
the benifits I personally have seen are
1.better cold start [dosent really matter when we have ''CHOKE'' option
2. the RPM meter moves more freely [ i mean the bike revs better than the stock
3. VERY VERY VERY SLIGHT increase in pickup .. you will only feel that when you change your bike and sit on a stock RTR ..
BUT IT IS VERY VERY VERY little
i went for it and to a limit i am happy because many people have said that my RTR responds better than the stock
i even invested on a HP airfilter to get that awesome sound .
i havent changed the jets because we need HELL Of a time to get the right size ..
PS: be careful with the jettings dude if you're planning them....
i will try and listen to it "dhyan se" today.........Originally posted by julianpaul View Post
i went out this eve, was in a hurry so didn't have much time to check, but when the headlight was on and i hit the pass flasher, there was a kind of rougher running sound from the fuel pump. kind of like 'kharrr kharrr kharrr'. nothing when hitting the flasher when the headlight was off. i was really surprised to hear it. will do a more thorough investigation later. The Magician"

herez the ans.....
Hi All,
i had mentioned the problem of low pickup when pillion sitting, n vibrations, n my FI not corssing between 95 and 100kms, had decided to goto showroom on sat,,,, but while returning from office i noticed somethng like thud thud sound from under the seat... i was scared,, this had happened 3 or 4 times after the second service. i dint know what to in middle of the road. anyways try to start it it started, but RPM completely drops below 1k rpm n stops. had to keep raising the accelerator... somehow reached home,,, and next day morning went to showroom and explained him the problem... he took a test ride and confirmed there is drop in pickup... need to check. so he confirmed bike has problem....
i told him to check the tappet....he did so and said all fine,,,,'
then he opened under seat and checked somethin... which im not sure as i was asked to wait outside.. then they came and asked my sign in white form.... then after 45 min.. everything checked ... took 3 test rides... came back the relay under seat is burnt.. and thats the reason this issue of low pickup..i dunno bout top end speed now ... but i can really feel the difference in first gears... bike moves without any hesitation,,, and believe me no vibrations at alll now... so i guess problem solved. though vil check the top end speed this monday on NICE road and give u more details..
as of now this is really cool... byke zipping without any problems,,,, thanx all for help and sugggestions... will keep u updated.

Ok, here is what "I SUPPOSE" the reason(s) could be:Originally posted by julianpaul View Postlol! ok, i've read all your earlier posts about the major issues and how they were resolved, but would you be kind enough to summarise what you think are the reasons for your bike being smoother? if we could narrow down the list of things to chk/replace/fix it would be much easier.
1. It is running a much taller gearing making it a smoother power delivery in the lower rpms. The "vibe band" has also changed places as a result
2. I shifted to NGK Iridium plugs for the trip(Better combustion of richer mixture in altitudes, cold starts, as a backup option)
3. Using fully synth Petronas Sprinta for the past 3.5K kms. Filled it befrore the trip and its still running great!
4. It was opened up or rather conditioned in one of the best(read strenuous) trips/places possble!!!
Probably due to the above reasons, the engine which needs to have set/opened up to its full potential after around 15K kms has happened now.
So solution and conclusion: GET LEH'IED and ur bike might get really smooth!!!

Never heard of this stuff!! Has it happened to u. If so, I can get this done during the next service...Originally posted by rennycornelius View Posttell the guys thr to change ur injector unit if you can force them to do so...
the new one is silver in colour little bigger than the old one and irons out all the "signature: probs of FI..........
Probably some relay to one of the sensors was the issue and the ECU was getting wrong inputs. BTW Renny is talking about the injectors. The one under ur seat is the ECU from DELPHI.Originally posted by TorQ View Postregarding the silver colour injection system @ renni... mine is also silver colour and on top of it its written Delphi... is this the one u talking bout.... thats under seat....Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. the two little black things you see, which run from the delphi unit are not the faulters...the fuse box having 3 fuses is there on the little black box on the battery side and i think he changed the fuse there and telling you that is relay....Originally posted by TorQ View PostPaul even i couldnt c the burnt relay.... he said relay under seat was burnt.... i didnot ask him to show me...

ask him what he did pointing this out.....
sir he changed mine...Originally posted by Aparajith View Post

The hexagonal pattern you have mentioned is the MRF Meteor 110/90-18'' which is presently on my bike. Its really a good tyre. only drawback is that it is very bulky and you will have to get used to itOriginally posted by VarunRTR View Posti am also planning to have my rear tyres changed before nxt rains...i was looking out for zapper-c and went to an MRF oulet last week and found a 110-90 with patterns like hexagons

Zapper FS is a front fitment tyre. its very good though..its my Apache's front tyre at present.
@whizkid
There is no tubeless option for 18'' from MRF till date.
