$hit!!! Cant blow up 200 bucks just like that.... Now that wud mean, changing the wiring, adding additional switches etc!! I just hate that... How have u guys provided it with power? Added an additional switch, kya?

        FYI, check this: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/268779-post5941.html
My bro wants to have pilots just like on my bike. I removed the pilots on the RTR to use a 55/60 headlamp for the Leh trip. So went the LED way as it saves power.

no need of changing wires .remember the rtr indicators run on DC . just connect the leds to their wires .

            • ^^ Yeah, that would work. And for that matter, all bikes I know run their indicators on DC!

Oh, ok. Something like a permanent light - day/night, right? Ok. Let me see.

There is a built in flasher ckt man. And there is a switch in your left handlebar, no? Does the stock bulbs remain ON the whole time? Just replace the indicator bulbs with the LEDs. That's enough!

uhhh ,, i was actually mentioning about the parking lights and NOT the indicators

                        • @Sam: thats why I asked "permanent". I think fixing it as a permanent one will not have any issues. Its anyways an LED which will not consume lot of power. Let me check it up.

Oops, someone said indicators, so I thought you guys meant that!

As for the parking light, why not use some diodes and convert the AC from the ckt to DC? No need for any relays, switches etc. Costs hardly 30 bucks!

Actually the thing that kills LEDs is reverse bias, they can't stand getting too much voltage in the blocking direction. If you can live with the LED lighting up at half brightness, you can get away easily by using one LED, a diode and a resistor. You connect the LED and diode parallel in opposite direction. (The LED conducts in one direction and the diode in the other.) Connect that in series with an appropriate resistor and you're done. No need for anything more complex.

If you need full brightness a circuit with a diode, capacitor and a current limiter (either a resistor or an active component) could be made.

Would u mind posting the details, parts and to-do's required here. I do not think it is OT as it is for a specific bike. Am a total dumb-head when it comes to electricals and electronics!!!

P.S: An MS-PAINT drawing would be much appreciated!
