Also such things seem to be happening on a few vehicles alone - like urs, Satish's etc. I am quite happy with my RTR-Fi having done 8K kms in 6 months - A lot more than my R15 has(its done only 9K BTW!!). No probs till now(Fingers crossed!).

I would not want to start a war here, but I very much feel that such issues are cropping up on the newer bikes and batches alone. As far as I recall, the Pulsar V1's or Apache/Fiero had no such issues whatsoever!Originally posted by Technocrat View Post

no doubt the kinda exhaust note Fi delievers just cannot be heard in the 180....Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanx for the pic renny, Dont know man, 180 didn't impress me as much as FI did, Not offensive over the 180. I personally love the 180 but there is some oomph.. factor that has made me go with this decision and thanks to it's exhaust note which is of heavenly and that is missing in 180. I also feel that Fi is faster and more efficient in power delivery compared to it's predecessor. Dont know if it's the exhaust note that is making me think that and also the bike will be put in a lots of chennai-coimbatore-madurai visits somewhat like touring and i hope a FI doe's this well without any hassles. Am i right Renny??
FI Feels faster than the 180 due to the sound and the vibration it makes, though the 180 has the same level of vibrations but it lacks that devilish sound which simply gets demonic in FI once it gets past 6000
and yes FI gets into the power band little more quickly than the 180 but it revs more cleanly and is little more smooth over to the 180 too...
as i said in my previous post too that thr's no major diff in power delievery of both the bikes and the 180 is faster to the 100,and they share similar timings to the 60...
what 180 has is slighly more top end than the FI....
and if you doubt the touring ability of the bike then remember apar da just did the whole LEH tour on it and came back with huge satiffying smile on his face....
if your heart says so,go for the FI,it will beg you to pin the throttle to max everytime you'll ride it....and yes with that eargasmic exhaust note....

tht's backfire buddy, try leaving the throttle in 2 gear after pulling the bike ito 8000RPM and hear it.....Originally posted by karworld2000 View PostHi there is a strange problem with my RTR-FI . This is happening for the second time. I have heard a huge sound like a cracker burst from my bike this happened around a month back but thought the sound is not from my bike but it happened again today it was hell of a sound a big "PHATT" sound i think its from the exhaust .Does anyone have a clue .
it's completely normal...
enjoy the sound....

I agree My P180 DTSi V1 had no issues whatsoever. The ZMA too was issue less apart from breaking panels that too on really bad patches of road.
I was talking to Nav & he to said that his original switch gear on Fiero had no issues & when he recently put the RTR ones he too faced the same issue that I faced with flash light switch.
I mean how difficult it is to make a Sub 200cc NA bike man? I wonder how these companies plan to go global.
Btw No offence but didnt you too report some issues in your RTR?
p.s. I had the P180 DTSi for 2.5 years(Did 36k kms), ZMA for 2 years(when she was supposed to be long term bike
) & had hoped that the RTR might be with me for a longer duration which seems unlikely now :|

True Techno. Sometimes these niggles do get into our head and frustrate us, especially when its a new bike! Even my 150V1 had no issues.
Yes, I had reported a few problems but all that was w.r.t to the injector. Hopefully based on Renny's accounts the new injector should solve them. And the other major issue was a leaking fuel pump and u all know how I got it solved!
Am I becoming some kind of benchmark figure or something?Originally posted by rennycornelius View Postand if you doubt the touring ability of the bike then remember apar da just did the whole LEH tour on it and came back with huge satiffying smile on his face....
Whatever u say, I will never change that fingers crossed statusOriginally posted by rennycornelius View Postsir you changed the injector or not????

Am yet to change the injector. Will take some time. Currently concentrating on the R15!!

Has someone changed the exhaust of the RTR no FI by the exhaust of the RTR FI or the Tachometer(Tacho) or rear disc brake?
Is it possible to do it?

if you change the exhaust of rtr with rtr-fi it will emit more pollution not recommended, not done by anyone here
tacho of rtr & rtr-fi have few difference if you want then go for techo of rtr 180 , rear disc can be put on rtr but it will cost you very much not advisable
yes it`s possibleIs it possible to do it?

I agree. I have '07 RTR. I havent faced any major issues at all. And I have put it through all sorts of torture saddle sore attempt, frequent riding on bad roads etc. But I have made sure of getting it serviced regularly.Originally posted by Aparajith View PostI would not want to start a war here, but I very much feel that such issues are cropping up on the newer bikes and batches alone. I get some minor niggles, which are at worst irritating, for example, the pilot lights have a tendency to blow off, the tank makes squeaky noises, between servicing weird noises from the engine. But otherwise it has been a faithful companion, so far.

check spark lug if its black or so, clean the carb. if that doesnt solve the problem, replace spark plug. i will suggest both. carb clean and putting in new spark plug.Originally posted by karworld2000 View PostHi there is a strange problem with my RTR-FI .
