    BEST OF LUCK
My 7 year old KB never ever had issues related to rust, and i used that thing real bad, i mean not used to wash it with mud on the body for over a month, and it never developed even an mm of rust anywhere.

My mech knws some guys who do this specific tank cleaning job and painting/ galvanising thing.
But cant leave the tank with them as they handle it very badly (read loads of scratches and dents)

Never knew about the GS rusting issues.

Yes that issue was faced by many a owners here in xBhp. I think nowadays that has been sorted out.

RTR tank rusting issue is again not a common-affair.

Yes even that contributes to rusting. I had my Victor's Tank replaced(free of cost) in the 3rd year(out of warranty). It was a dealer gesture in the form of an almost new tank.

          • Changed the engine oil...found some loose metal pieces attached to the bottom nut which is removed to drain engine oil..

            Any thing serious?
Is it due to normal wear and tear?

            • 11:15.

Me standing at the parking, looking at my bike as my starter suddenly died.
It was making all sorts of "gear slipping" noices, so i thought after tank, the bike had this, in store for me.

As i'am running without a kick, i had only one option-
              To push start it.

Before doing that, i thought to check the terminals of the battery once, the curious bystanders were more intrested than me as i was an alien there clad in helmet, jacket, gloves, and knee protectors, goin Einstein on my bike.

The terminals looked ok, i hop'd on the bike and asked 2 guys amongst almost 20 standing to push my bike for me, on which they happily obliged.

Put it in 2nd, and it started at one push, heard the pump, it was sounding varying, so i doubt'd the battery, as my next stop was at my mech place only (was going there for the tank clean up thing) i rode off.

My mech checked the terminals again, they were loose, specially the + one, and after tight'nin it, the self got life.

Will be going for the tank clean up thing in eve, will post the pics.

              • Sad to read about tank rusting. However, in my case, only header is rusted.
And open metal is there only on end can due to battery acid spil.

There was lots scratches visible on rear rim due to 2 rim repairs and 4 punctures. but it got sorted with help of acrylic laquer.

Note: 5 days a week, i stay in Mumbai (Coastal Area)

@Renny and other Fi owners: RTR Fi can be started without battery also, by kick start. You can confirm this from abhiwar. We experimented that on his Fi.

                    • i wanted to replace my half face helmet. I wear specs so which one would you people will suggest for me? I just use helmet 3-4 times in a day. Also, i do not want to spend very much.
also, the existing helmet is not comfortable at high speeds.
                      please suggest.

Its normal for a new bike to feel little harsh. I felt the same when I brought my Apache. I don't think you need to change the oil now, better wait for the first service. Or you can just check the oil level and make sure there is enough oil.

Always try to keep the speed below 50kmph for the first 1000kms. It is really important, be patient for a while and after that its all yours

                                Common with new Bikes!

Dont worry gear shifting will get smooth after 1-2 service
