The bowl drain screw is just that. If the Petrol level inside the carburetor increases then you will definitely see the drops of petrol at the bowl drain.Originally posted by Vishal Wagh View Post

Hey Vijay1911
Have you checked whether the drain screw is loose or something? Because I don't think it is possible to leak from drain pipe if drain screw tight.

For the punctured Air Cut Off Valve disk , you can try touching up the individual holes with rubber based glues like Dendrite. do the touch up on the side facing the carburetor.ie., the pin side of the valveOriginally posted by Vijay1911 View PostHello Everyone,
Few months back, all of sudden petrol from drain pipe of carburetor of my Karizma R(Bought in 2008) started flowing out. It was not dripping. Then, I took it to few mechanics in my city, but they said, it will be hard to find parts for the carburetor of such old bike. Then I tried to solve it myself maybe some thing is causing the float valve pin to not close properly, so I went through videos for how to open and clean the Carb. I had never worked on any Carb ever till this point as I was afraid to do anything on it.

Before the EBR screw up the Karizma was same from intro till then. The only change I know of is that till 2006 it had an aggressive Ignition timing , and post 2007 it was tamed a bit to give better Mileage. The difference in RPM Versus speedo could be either speedo error or Clutch slip.Originally posted by rawat97 View PostHi..i was recently browsing karizma top speed videos on youtube and noticed earlier karizma 3,4,5 gearing were on shorter side .i was not able to make which yr is what but the older ones were topping @80-82 at redline in 3rd gear & 100-105 at 4th gear just start of redline and 125 comes again at redline in 5th gear ..in the recent karizma not the ebr ones 4th gear top out at 115 at red line and 127-128 come at around 7600 -7700 rpm and it tops out there and doesnot goes towards redline .so this means recent pre facelift karizma may be bs3 have over gearing compare to earlier ones and thats why their average was also great and acceleration was less ..have any one have any idea around it?
psr sir any idea around it?

Hello Everyone,
Few months back, all of sudden petrol from drain pipe of carburetor of my Karizma R(Bought in 2008) started flowing out.
On opening it, I cleaned it as much as I could and put everything back. But the petrol flowing out of drain pipe was solved for few days. I cleaned the float valve, checked float for any punctures on it, I found none. Problem came back few days back, when I turned the petrol knob to ON, fuel started to flow from the drain pipe again.
Also while cleaning, I found few parts were damaged. AFR screw was bit mangled. Also, the second Diaphragm (smaller one) has some small holes in it and it is bit sticky as well. On going through previous posts, I found it should not be like that.
1. Mangled AFR Screw
2. Second Diaphragm (Adding in Attachments), one can see small holes in it, when placed over the light.
I went Hero Service Parts shops, they said they don't have it and they will not order it, as they cannot confirm when they can deliver it to me.
On looking online for the carburetor, I looked into Hero Eshop website: https://eshop.heromotocorp.com/carbu...00kry901s.html
It shows it is available in my location but I was never able to order it successfully. Then on calling them I got to know, there is problem in website, so I wont be able to order it from there. Then, they gave me numbers of hero shops in my state, where it could be available. I called them, but they don’t have it either.
So, is there any way I can get a new Carburetor for my Karizma or any part of it, from any websites or anyone, who can be trusted?Last edited by Vijay1911; 10-23-2021, 02:22 PM.

If you are in Bangalore, then Mr. Phaniker can help. He is an Authority on Karizma and is a Xbhp senior member. He can guide you.
Thanks,
Krishna

Any good karizma mechanics or workshop in South Bangalore? I have a 2009 zma-r which was idle for a year. After returning to Bangalore I checked with a local mechanic since the battery was gone and there was knocking. He suggested me to sell but I don't want to since I have a lot of memories with the bike. I spent around 12k and the bike was rideable, but just after 3 months, now again the knocking sound and has some electrical issues. I am fed up and I learnt that sai motors is no better. Wanted to check whether I can get a reference? I used to go to Alva near jayadeva but don't think he is working there anymore. Wanted to check with you all if you have a connect who can source the spares.
Thanks,
Krishna

Thanks sir..sure i will have a look and still my bike external minor paint job ,bixenon projector & tyre upgrade to 120/80 left also going for sealed chain..due to covid lockdown it all stucked so once everything complete..will send you photos..i had a quick run and first couple of gears were hard but it was cleanly pulling from 40 onwards so engine seems properly bored..duke 42 teeth old ones can fit but chain length will be problem...will have a look againOriginally posted by psr View Post
I do remember you and your queries. Regarding the rear sprocket , the mounting holes have to match for fitment. The old Pulsar rear sprockets used to fit the Karizma ,if I remember right, old ones had 39 teeth to 42 teeth. There is a Forum specifically for sprocketing. called " World of Sprockets " which will help you decide.
Good Luck.

I had faced similar problem with my Karizma and only after changing the MC kit I was able to see the brake lever go fully back . The "O" rings on the Master Cylinder Piston had swelled due to contamination of brake fluid....Originally posted by acs1207 View Post
Sir, the lever doesn't go back fully. The switch is in good condition. Lubrication seems ok. The mech said he can repair it. Or is changing it better? The light being on doesn't affect the electricals much since I have an upgraded battery. But the ones behind me won't know when I apply brakes.

Ji first check if the Brake lever goes back to rest position when you release it. If it does not, check for lubrication. If it still does not return fully back , then there is contamination of brake fluid making the the Master cylinder piston "O" rings to swell and become tight. Changing the master cylinder kit AFTER flushing and cleaning the old brake fluid is the only way out.
I am assuming the brake light switch position is not altered and is in good condition.
