Tapping needs to be adjusted during servicing, and its quiet common. But u shouldnt be hearing the tapping noise so early though unless uve ripped the bike on high rpms so far. Its not much of an issue but is better if you get it checked...Originally posted by jadhav92 View Posthi lohit...i filled xtrapremium for Rs500 before i left it for service......still runnin on it......Yamaha R15 | Merida SUB 20MD

dude, sorry to hear that the rims cracked. But just a hunch: Could this drop of pressure be due to puncture? Try and see.
synergizer: I have ripped my bike to high speeds, low speeds, and in the mid range. 2.5k kms on the trot and no tapping. Im sure there are others here who can corroborate. Jadhav's problem could be due to contaminated petrol. Maybe fuel from a different gas station can solve the problem?sigpic

Been through an ordeal, got both my rims cracked because of a pothole and the bike's been lying at the workshop for 3 weeks, waiting for the parts to arrive. Showroom guys dint look after my bike well, the rear cowl got scratches because of their carelessness.(my bike didn't even have a single scratch when I gave them..and you can expect how I maintained it and how much it'd hurt me). And now, the rims've been replaced..but the air pressure keeps dropping every alternate day(from 33psi to 17psi in 36 hours).
Went and met the workshop guys again, and they asked me to keep my bike with them again..so waiting for the right time to leave the bike at workshop again. All this took more than 50 days :|
Sorry to hear this. These days i am very much afraid to ride my R15 above 100km/h after seeing rims cracking of most of the bikes. I have seen nearly 10-12 bikes RIMS broken in orkut just because of some small patholes & also i have seen 2 bikes rims broken at BW.. Dont know why yam have put these bad quality rims on R15

To me too fuel seems to be an issue. But was ruling out because he used xtrapremium. I was insisting on ripping because I too have the same problem. From day 1 I hardly took my bike to 6th gear. After the runin, I kept riding the bike at 7+ RPM most of the times on all gears just for an extra punch. Have taken the bike to the redline many times too. N regarding petrol, I used either Shell or Speed 97, so cant complain about fuel. My bike has clocked a lil more than 5200 kms and the sound is lil different. Its just a bit heavy not rough though. And the mechanic told that the sound will get better after the tapping is adjusted. And there is nothing to worry, there will be no difference in performance.Originally posted by pudix View PostI have ripped my bike to high speeds, low speeds, and in the mid range. 2.5k kms on the trot and no tapping. @ all:
Even I have experienced the change in the sound. It happened after i ripped my bike to the red line right after the first service. Some unsual tapping noise starts coming out after 7kRPM or so.. when the engine is decelerating.
And regarding the drop in pressure: I too thought of punctures.. but it's a very slow process, looses pressure only every alternate day.. and it started happening only after the rim replacement. I doubt the fit of tire on the rim to be the culprit here. Cos, the first time they removed my origial rim, there was some kind of a white layer on the tire's sealing surface, like an adhesive has been applied to it so that it'll seal against the rim perfectly...but they didn't apply any such adhesive or solution for the new rim sealing.
And does anyone know where we can get the weight balancing done?? I didnt get the "rim weights" with my new rim.
Sunny.

Hello everyone,
Today I had an accident due to misuse of the front disk. I was cruising and suddenly the car in front of me stopped. I pressed the front brake fully and I fell down. There is not much damage to me nor to my bike. I got my palms scraped and my bike some major and some minor scratches on the fairing, mirror, Headlamp Cowl. Anyways I am fine and reached home safely but with some difficulty as I was not able to use my palm.Yamaha YZF-R15 is Here

Though it's of top notch quality ,I think these guys sold it to me at a higher price (7.5 k)
I need to ask if any one has any idea about the cost.
Its a non-leather jacket with all protectors, inner removable lining..etc etc...
