  • Rear wheel modification

    Hello,

R15v1 owner here in Vietnam. Spending lots of time on the track, and having some rear wheel/tyre issues. It seems that there is no viable 100series rear tyres available for the track, so I had fit a 120. However, due to the narrow rear rim, the tyre is pinched into a profile that is too tall to provide a good contact patch for drive out of corners.

I'd like to fit a wider rear rim, and it looks like the 3.5 rim from an Exciter will fit, but are there other options? Currently, the Exciter rim sits off-center in the swingarm. Is there a simple fit from the Yamaha parts catalog to fix this, or will I need to fit a different swingarm?

Last difficulty- the v1 was never officially sold in Vietnam, so original parts are difficult to find.

    Thanks!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
