Fellas, would be great if someone has observed this. Does anyone hear any sound from the speedo console when the tacho needle does a full sweep back and forth? I did observe a very faint krrr krrr sound when the tacho needle does the customary wake up sweep. The speedometer as a unit works perfectly fine, no problems observed. Do let me know your observations, or if anyone has encountered the same.

    Thank you!

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Nope, never heard of this. Could you post a video of the same, if possible?

        Hi
I have been a silent observer of this thread since many years now. I registered myself yesterday and thought of sharing my experience with liqui moly products.
I was not at all satisfied with the stock yamalube 10w40 motor oil was looking at a reliable service aftermarket replacement for my 2009 yamaha r15 with 20,000 kms on the odo.
I came across liqui moly products and read really good reviews about it.
I went ahead and purchased 10w40 street race motor oil along with anti friction compound (which they recommend to put with every oil change) and fuel system cleaner.

After riding for 50 kilometres the bike started behaving completely different. The vibrations at higher revs are completely gone and also revs much freely. Fuel system cleaner claims to clean the injectors, spark plugs and valves. There is also a slightly better throttle response as well.
I would suggest everyone here to try liqui moly motor oil.
Lrl motors is exclusive supplier for liqui moly motorbike range of products.

Only solace is I was able to find the rear MRF tyre of original specs after some effort. All I find from MRF shops is a 90/80-17 which I suppose is the tyre for R-15 Ver 2.0. Did any one fit this for the Ver 1.0.Dealers seem to suggest Michelin pilot sporty 90/90 which I seem to be not happy, Because I dont want to deviate from the original R15 feel.

Who are to be blamed: Yamaha or MRF, that we don't get tyres designed for a specific bike after 6-8 years.

Hi Guys, same problem after 3 more years.

Last effort made me replace the front with the Ver.2 spec 90/80 after somehow managing to find only the rear tyre with the original specs.

I felt loss of the original characteristics as earlier handling. Front seemed a little heavy and unwilling to turn as with the earlier stock.

Last year front tyre got a puncture in what seemed as some one (kid?) drove a new '+' screw right in the middle of tyre. I am having issues with leaks multiple times at the point of puncture and also the tyre is also cracking near the rims. So thinking of replacement.

Any Idea which tyres in the current time are better for R15 the first version for both front and rear. Ver2 stock doesn't seem to be the best fit. MRF dealers seem to be clueless when suggesting alternatives.

I hear it too. My Mech says it's common and dust inside the speedo is the reason.

Finally! Thank you Sarvajit. Did you ever intend to clean them? It isn't something that you hear this sound always, only when the ambience it's in is pin drop silence, you hear the mumbling of the tacho unit.

                Cheers!

                    Sorry for the late reply.
The sound comes always, but you can hear it only when it's silent say in basement parking.
I don't intend to touch it until a speedo malfunction happens. Older machines will have some creaks here and there. [emoji16]
And opening the speedo will definitely cause some gaps and/or rattles. I already have one from the headlamp replacement post last accident.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Indeed Sarvajit. The exact same thing ran in my mind, why run the risk of complicating it even more by opening it out. It works fine though, it's just that this sound at times perfectly filters through your eardrums and you know the rest.

                      Cheers!

Sure I do Mate. The vibration in front has the same effect on me. None of the plastics around the dome are loose yet the vibration persists.
I wanted to open up the headlamp area yesterday at service but my Mech believes more in the 'If it ain't broke...' philosophy I guess! [emoji1]

Speaking of service, how often do you v1 guys replace the rear suspension link holder plates?
I'm getting them changed approximately once in every alternate year when I find the rear is sagging and looks short.

Im trying to source front and rear tyres for my bike and it seems almost impossible to get the stock ones. Can anyone help me with options closest to the stock ones or if possible leads to where i can get the tyres from.

Is yours the 100/80 17 section tire? Or the new 130/70?

A small rubber or hard foam like thing between the front windshield and the speedometer top plastic cover in two touching sides is missing or gone flat. Install a rubber tube cut or a similar thick foam (2-3mm) with a feviquik or any god quality adhesive (Loctite 401 or 406) in the between the space. It will reduce the buzz from the front part. The idea actually came into me when I hold the windshield and pulled it towards me it stopped vibration. Try it.

100/80 Rear is hard to find. Try 110/80 from Ceat & 80/90 is available as MRF Masseter.
