Then it's better avoided. IF you really want to upsize, I would recommend Pulsar 150 tyre size in a soft compound (100/90 x 17"). Thks will give you similar benefits with less sacrifice.
But, end of the day no tyre suits the v1 like it's own stock 100/80. Best handling and no compromise in acceleration either.

Thanks for the ideas and support. The bike's awesome right now. Working perfectly as intended. The acceleration and smoothness are perfect.

The bore was not damaged visibly, but the piston and valves were and the change was good. I was riding within 6k rpm for about 700kms and then got my valve clearance closer. Now the noise is minimal and scream at higher rpm is enthusiastic. I have done 1500kms so far no issues on this front. Did Bangalore Chennai with 3 other random R15 on Monday. It was awesome. The lack of pick up in the 6th gear is gone. (though the lack of pick-up because of my bigger tyre persists )

I will change the oil at 2k and let you know how much the drain was.

            • Engine overhauling for Yamaha R15 v1.0

I have a 2010 Yamaha R15 in which I never found the engine sound similar to other R15's. I had it checked many times at the service station but they always tighten the tapid and the sound is normal for 4-5 days only. Little short before 2 year I was told that the bike needs an engine overhauling and service centre doesn't help me in claiming warranty. I am still riding the bike after 5 years of not having any engine work done. I have not faced any problem but the power has dropped significantly and the engine noise is not pleasing at all and I am worried if it stops somewhere although smoke comes out of exhaust only when I rev it hard and I have even done some trips of around 1200 KM's and doesn't faced a single issue.

I need suggestions that should I get the overhauling thing done at an authorised workshop and spend around ₹20k- ₹25k for it or have it done outside(friends shop) for ₹10k-12k or I should just sell off the bike. Thanks in advance.

PS: I mostly drive in city conditions and small stretches of highway. I even go on road trips once a year.

You'll need to provide more details for anyone to help you with this situation. As in -

                  1. How old is your R15? (Years and KMs)

                  2. Any modifications done?

                  3. What's your normal riding condition - city or highway?

                  4. How many times did the crankshaft bearing break so far?

                  5. Do you lug the engine often? (Ride at low RPMs in higher gears 'to save fuel')

                  6. Do you ride with excess weight often?

                  7. After how many KMs do you do an engine oil change usually?

                  8. What did the service center guys find so far after breakage?

                  Regards.

Check ur lubrication line to bearing . Blocked with some rubber or oil filter 's rubber seal.

Ur oil passages are blocked mostly because of a clogged filter or if your bike is new your casing is faulty. If you have a habit of changing oil really late and not topping up riding at high rpms then chances are your engine has sucked in the oil filter oring into the oil passage.
Split you casing and pass pressurised air to see if the passages are clean.

                        Hi All,

Facing the following problem with my Yamaha R15 V1, when the engine over heats the temperature light does not light up (had a couple of incidents where the bike over heated and switched off but the temperature light did not come up, had to guess the issue and let it cool before continuing), but it lights up fine during the start up procedure. Any idea what might be the problem and how to fix it? any help will be much appreciated.

Note - My bike has a leo vince GP corsa full exhaust and a powertronic ECU not sure if that has any impact on the temperature light not lighting up.

Hi sir, I recently had a crash on my RTR200 which has resulted in a bent fork. Will it be wise to replace the fork or repair the bent fork? Any long term issues you had with your fork after repair?

                            Hello guys,
I own a 2010 V1 R15. I am heading to my first long solo trip next month end. Please let me know which is best tail bag for R15 for tour of 4 days and it should hold a DSLR too. Thanks. How is Viaterra Claw? Is it easy to mount and unmount? What precautions should I take before leaving for journey? Thanks.

Hello, well good luck for your solo ride stay safe.
about tail bag I havent had any experience of the same nor have I seen anyone using them in my R15 group but for your need of a bag to keep DSLR I would recommend you give RYNOX tank bag a try it comes with strong magnets and a rain liner also I have had a positive reply from the people using it.

I have R15 V2, the fuel tank is similar to V1. I use Viaterra Oxus Magnetic Tankbag to keep DSLR, Water bottle & few charger-n-cables. Considering you have V1, the plain saddle will hold Viaterra Claw Mini comfortably, not Viaterra Claw (because it is very bulky).
On the money saving idea, I can suggest, buy a duffel bag from wildcraft (30L), fix it with bungees & additional backpack rain cover, you are done! Rynox, Dirtsack can cost you more.
