I am having issue with my r15 v2 i bought it second hand it's a 2012 model. It has only run 8000 km. I think tappet noise is there in the engine pickup is also very slow and kind of kee sound is always coming through fi. I had a pillon also he was around 63 kg and mine around 59 kg Its not fine but doing good between 80 to 100 but after crossing 100 it is struggling to cross 110. Rear tyre is gone Only 35 or 40% is left is that the issue ? I think the owner did not clean the air filter also. I have renewed the engine oil also with motul 5100 15w50 or should I gave gone for 7100 15w50. Should I give my bike to service center or a local mechanic.

Usally "tak tak" after a good long ride is tappet, but u wont hear tak tak sound while cold starting.

So that is not an issue correct
As my bike is from 2012 and i bought it second hand it has been riden only 7800 kms so should give her a check from service center for the enginee part. As the owner says it me has already done tbe tappet work but i don't trust him.

One should hear the sound in person to make anything out of it. You should check the tappets only if sound only comes after a long ride. Im talking about the sewing machine sound.

                  Guys,

Need an advice. I had by bike serviced a day ago. And post the service, I see a drop in acceleration as if I am trying to ride my bike in a swimming pool. My immediate suspicion is slip b/w clutch plates. I called up the guy who did my service and according to him, the clutch plates have worn out and need a change. Apparently, the oil earlier because of its greasy nature was providing enough friction and now because of the oil change they have begun to slip. I am pretty confused on what's happening:
                  So,
                  1. Is my suspicion right? How do I check if my clutch plates are really slipping?
2.a. If they do are slipping, how do I ascertain if I have to change my clutch plates or if its because of some other issues like improper adjustment of clutch lever or weakened clutch spring? b.How will I know if i have to change pressure plate?
                  3. If they are not because of clutch slip, what could be the other possible reasons?

On a different note, I have ordered (on advice from fellow xBHPians) Masseter 80/90-17 & 120/80-17. They are to reach my nearest MRF store by Monday. Hope it's the right decision. Hope they work as good as expected.

                    Quick update:
Though it's not the same, the throttle response in my ride back home is better than that in the morning. Also, the clutch lever play is much more than the usual, though I do not see any throttle play.

Any guesses on what's happening [emoji19]

                    • Yamaha R15 v1 Airbox Connector Tube

Hi guys, was wondering.. anyone played around with the airbox connector tube (the tube in the airbox below the air filter) , shortening it? Appearently shorter tube benefit top end and longer tube benefit low end torque... Wonder what will happen if you cut it off flush with the airbox ...?

Guys I met with a minor accident with State Transport Bus last week on my R15. The bus rear section collided with exhaust and its scratched badly. How much the Yamaha exhaust cost? Any other tried and tested options from other manufacturers? How much would they cost?
                        Thanks.

Clutch lever free play must be within 10.0 to 15.0 mm. If clutch is slipping, speedometer will not increase with parallel to tachometer. Only other way around is measuring the thickness of friction and clutch plate. Also if you use wrong engine oil, clutch will slip. Experts, please advise.

Need a small help, recently i had a small crash on my R15, the right side clip on has got bent in this crash, badly enough to touch the tank in case of a turn, is it better to get this straightened out or to replace it with a new one?

Replacing a clip-on is cheaper than physiotherapy.

Irrespective of the degree of deformation anything affecting ergonomics should be replaced even if there's a minor offset.
