Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Hey,Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostDid you get the clutch bell and plates change ever. Get the tappets adjusted, injectors clean. Even though mine is not running much these days but at approx 110000 kms she still touches 130kmph easily. Also please make sure the chain is lubed properly. I hope you havent done any mods in it.
No mods, The friction plates were changed at 29k kms in 2011 and the clutch bell was changed last year at around 80k kms. SVC always say no need to adjust the tappets it's fine and the injectors have never been cleaned. I do lube the chain every 500-600kms.
How often have you changed the clutch bell and it's plates? And have you ever adjusted the tappets on your bike ?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Well I got one set of clutch plates changed with pressure plates at around 49K. My injectors were cleaned at 60k and same time the tappets were checked and tightened as well. The clutch plates were changed and mine also makes noise. When consulted with my mechanic, this time he informed that the clutch plates, friction plates along with clutch bell has to be changed. So will do that in a while as well.Originally posted by rajesh7 View PostHey,

Yamaha r15 battery
Hey guys, my first post here. I'm actually confused with choosing a new battery for my Yamaha r15 (version 1). The original Tata green-Yuasa (12V, 3.5A) lasted me a good 5 years. But things have changed since then. Tata green dealerships in Mumbai have reduced and Exide isn't very reliable. I have 2 options :-
1. Amaron Pro Biker (12V, 5A)
2. Amco (12, 4A)
Yamaha dealerships and mechanics suggest Amco. But I've heard rave reviews about Amaron. The only thing holding me back from buying an Amaron is that it's 5A and the stock battery was 3.5A. Will the rectifier be able to charge the 5A battery? Putting it gives me an advantage of having a 55W bulb as headlight.
Urgent help required. Thanks in advance.

AMCO 4Ah is direct fit, while Amaron 5 Ah needs slight mod (Remove sponge from battery box). No issue with charging. With Amaron you get extra 1 Ah storage compared to AMCO and 1.5AH from stock. I have been an Amaron user for some past 8 years
and would recommend it over anything else. Tata-Green was a wonder. It lasted really long, for most.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Well it is quite niggle free. People after all are busy with their daily lives, and I rarely see v1s nowadays.
It's impossible, just last week I saw a store having stock of FY1. Thought of putting it in my Unicorn but didn't fit thanks to the mudguard.
Could be because most of the production is going to the Yamaha factory.
Contact MRF through mail, they'll provide you with details.Last edited by Shashank K R; 08-02-2016, 01:47 AM.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Hello my friends, my V1 is about to get an oil change soon. I would like to know about Motul 300v factory line 15w 50 fully synthetic engine oil. My bike has crossed 40k Kms and can I use it? How many Kms it can run and do I have to change the Oil filter also??
