Hi Everyone,
I am trying to learn something from the ECU in R15. And I have some question regarding the mod on the ECU.
Currently I have 2 bikes to experiment with the following setup:
1. R15 Version 2 Black
a. Ported head.
b. Increased the compression
2. R15 Version 1 Black
a. Big Valve head
b. Race concepts cam without the decomp valve.
c. 61 MM bore kit.
d. 13 teeth GB sprocket
e. 42 or even 44 teeth Rear sprocket
f. Race concepts Air filter.
I am trying to learn about the ECU Mod for both the above bikes
I just want to know some details and answers about r15?
1. What is the AFR of stock r15?
2. What should AFR for the above setup?
3. What is the optimum fule1/ignition/correction setting in the race dynamics rtune software?
4. I know that if the fuel is very lean then it a problem but what if I over fuel it?
5. Will FI diagnostic tool help me to correct know the errors that I make?
Please suggest maybe I can try on my bike
I will keep you posted about the pics of the Race Dynamics ECU tuning software.

^^^ not true. About 90% of the parts between the V1 and V2 are common. As far as the engine is concerned there are not more than 4 to 5 changes between the versions. The most number of changes are cosmetic apart from the swing arm, rear disc break, wider rims and tyres.
Its not as if there are going to be no parts available at all. There are more than 1 lakh version 1 bikes on the roads. They are not going to disappear in couple of years. Heck, even the RX series still lingers on after more than 20 years.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Iam purposely asking in this thread as I do not think any V2 member might have come across warranty issues since the bike is recently launched in market and me being one of the owners.
I have some questions for V1 members
Topic - Yamaha Extended Warranty Rs 777
1) Has anyone taken the extended warranty from Yamaha?
2) How is the service and what all is covered in the warranty (I know there are 117 parts but I want to hear from a user who has experienced this)
3) Did you also get free servicings? Yes Pune Yamaha offers 6 free servicings in that extended warranty which starts after completion of stock warranty.
4) Can it actually reduce any replacement part expenses, My use is bit rough since my daily running is close to 50-60kms Highway.
5) Since its a quality product will i have to replace parts like i did in my Pulsar, I do not know how is the long term report of V2, there isnt any so please reply for this.
That's all from my side.
Iam expecting a reply from members who have gone ahead and used this warranty, not from those who have the booklet kept in shelf and know the policy rules, i need real time experience, thank you once again.

Fall in mileage
I shifted my R-15 from UP to Bangalore few months back. There has been a serious drop in mileage, giving 33-35 in city. Earlier it used to give ~40kmpl. Also the sound of the engine seems to be very rough.
.
Talked to a local mechanic, he said problem in mileage is due to weather and he has to clean somr parts (I dont remember the name) to rectify it.
1. Is the mechanic correct?
2. What may be the reason for the loss of refinement/roughness of the engine?
3. Also I am dues for my service for 10000 kms, any special changes to be done at 10k or normal servicing?
4. Which is best service center for Yamaha in Bangalore?

I think the diagnostic wil help you study fi and afr settings and you can tune your ecu finely to match your requirementsOriginally posted by nv.rohanraj View PostHi Everyone,

1) Has anyone taken the extended warranty from Yamaha? Not me as its a new marketing strategy
2) How is the service and what all is covered in the warranty (I know there are 117 parts but I want to hear from a user who has experienced this) I have replaced many of my parts in the standard warranty like sensors and all free of charge
3) Did you also get free servicings? Yes Pune Yamaha offers 6 free servicings in that extended warranty which starts after completion of stock warranty.
4) Can it actually reduce any replacement part expenses, My use is bit rough since my daily running is close to 50-60kms Highway. Spares cost will be the same, may be you get some discount on labor, check it properly with normal paid servicing costs

Are you sure there was no damage in transit?? That can be one reason for the roughness..Originally posted by anas17in View PostI shifted my R-15 from UP to Bangalore few months back. Further, for 10k, I would recommend replacing air filter n break oil in addition to regular service. If you have completed 1 year, better to replace the coolant too (I am talking of flushing out the old one n putting in new coolant, not the usual topup).
Sprint Yamaha, Hosur road and Perfect Riders, Jayanagar n Lalbag road is where most of us YRCians get our bike serviced.

Gave bike to Orion Motors today.
Thanks for the reply. No there was no such damage during transit.Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostAre you sure there was no damage in transit?? That can be one reason for the roughness..

Also I am switching to full synthetic now, is it ok?
I was thinking of going for Simota Air filter by Joel, tried to contact him but no reply, so thinking of visiting his garage this weekend.
Will tell the service center about the coolant thing.
Next time will take to perfect riders only.
One more thing, the steering handle is vibrating when travelling at speed above 80, what might be the reason for this?

Hi guys, my bike keeps tilting to the right by about 5 to 7 degrees from vertical when right and when I take hands off the handlebars, it pulls to left. The right bar seems to be lowered compared to left while riding straight. Also it leans over in RH corners easily vs LH corners. I have changed fork springs and oil level is right, I have repaired the fork bends too. But still this problem is persisting. My left footpeg is bent backwards by about 10 can this be because footpeg as it might force uneven weigt distribution. Please help me as this is very frustrating!

Hii Tanmay. I found the same problem after I changed my R15's cone set. Different feeling on leaning over both sides. Went to YFS, they said the torquing of the cone set was wrong & set it off perfectly. Now its handle perfectly. Also chake your bikes tires. If you are using it more than 15k - 18k then, tires softness is gone. You might consider to change those also.Originally posted by tanmay324 View PostHi guys, my bike keeps tilting to the right by about 5 to 7 degrees from vertical when right and when I take hands off the handlebars, it pulls to left. Also check for fork alignment and change your front shocks oil too.Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostAre you sure there was no damage in transit?? That can be one reason for the roughness..

Requires greasing in cone set and both wheel bearings, also check engine mount bolts.Originally posted by anas17in View PostThanks for the reply. No there was no such damage during transit.

There is a weilded lock just below the place where you insert your key, check the settings too.Originally posted by tanmay324 View PostHi guys, my bike keeps tilting to the right by about 5 to 7 degrees from vertical when right and when I take hands off the handlebars, it pulls to left.
