  • New R15 v2

I just visited Yamaha showroom here at Nagpur, it is the first time when the new R15 V2 are kept in showroom for public view. As I already inquired about the bike earlier after launch, the showroom guys offered a test ride.
First of all the looks: Bike looks good with rear end changes. The wide tire complements the looks and the rear, Front was always nice with twin head lights, the changes in fairing can also be noticed, but the rear swing arm stands out for itself giving heavy looks to the bike.
Now the ride, Initial pickup had certainly improved, bike is smooth and very good in cornering at decent speed, the wide tire shows its effect while leaning, the U turn in my ride was awesome as I leaned, that I got to hear from the guy sitting behind, ‘Bhaiya!! Iitana mat zukaooo, naya bike hai aaur abhi thode der pehele he aaye hai’, but that was easy to do on this bike. Certainly a head turner.
SIMPLY..Nice looking bike with Yamaha performance..

Just checked with perfect riders, lalbagh road.I had actually enquired for front only, as i had to change mine. it costs 1400/-.

        Also,

The bike is serviced appropriately and well maintained in stock condition.

I would like the approximate speeds both upright and crouched.

Lets keep the wind and slope neutral.

        Thanks.
With the rear pressure at 35psi, front 29psi and the rider wt. 68kgs the bike does 142-143 (crouched), 131-132 upright with stock gearing in the 6th gear. The main difference that I saw was when my bike was around 5000-10000kms old it would do 71kms/hr @ 5000rpm, 6th gear , now it does 73km/hr @5000 rpm, 6th gear. now it's 22000kms old.

Finally got both the tyres for 3100 couple of weeks back.

sir/bro, thanks a lot for the reply... today i got a first hand experience of it. a shopkeeper asked INR 2950. i left the shop and enquired in the opposite shop itself where he quoted INR 2400. i enquired in about more than 10-12 shops in jc road, bangalore. the prices were quite different from each shop. however hard i tried to bargain, only two fellows agreed to sell at INR 2000. as i was badly in need of the rear tyre ASAP, i bought one at INR 2000.

hey bro, i got the rear tyre at INR 2000. i tried bargaining hard but that was all i could do. anyways, thanks for the reply as it helped me a lot.

sir/bro, when i went there yesterday, they told that they had front tyre but not the rear one. as i dint need the front one, i dint bother to ask the price for the same. thanks for the share... this would surely help me in future..
A crash on d road may kill d biker n d bike, but d relationship btwn d bike n d biker never dies.

Its only next to d relationship btwn d mother n her baby.

That's ok-he has made 200 bucks profit, not too much.
In my case he made the same 200 bucks on the front tyre whose lowest price is 1600.

Spark plug change is written as 12K kms. in the manual.
                  It may need cleaning/replacement.
I went for an NGK Iridium-no problems for 30-40K kms.
It costs Rs.550, but you can get it at Rs.475 if you know the dealer/distributor.

Sarvajit, the shop (Nagoda Wheels) suggested by Online Satish, still sells the tyres for 1500(front) and 1600(rear). Should give a try if you still need one.

I already got my set from Punjagutta buddy. Enquired with Nakoda Wheels-he started with 2000 for the rear&1800 for the front. Finally the best price he was prepared to give was 1600 for front&1800 for rear!
Anyway, its over now. Need to get the rim repaired&plonk the new tyres in.

                      • Was facing too many punctures in recent months so decided to put in the tube as i had no other option right now. Does it do any bad? I think i'll have to change my tire soon..!!
Fun begins only after 6K rpm.....!

                        • Multiple punctures is a fair indication of the abuse the tyre has seen. I would suggest avoid a tube like plague and plonk in fresh tyres.

It is known as Spitfire cable, to bring out the best effect of the plug. No idea where it is available in your city. Maybe someone else can help.
Doesn't mean that if you are only installing the plug it won't work.
I have Iridium plugs on both my bikes&the difference observed is much better cold starts on the old one&even firing on both.
Long life&better cold starts are the main tangible advantages.
Check the NGK site www.ngkntk.in for more info on the self cleaning chamber, special method used in tip, gap setting etc. There is an explanatory video also.
Don't expect any power gain with this plug-it will mainly help in longer life&less fouling.

All I want is to solve the misfiring issue
Can you Please guide as to where I can find spitfire cables? are they direct fit to our R15?
