Shampoo wt most garages use. I use it too, but dont use much. As shampoo may go little harst against the color of bike as told by some members here. Try to make mild by more water:shampoo ratio. IMO bike should not b washed regularly. just wipe slowly the dust everyday.

For cover, use bullet or thunderbird's cover

        • Help needed for Tank Pad

          Hi All,

I want a Tank Pad for my Blue R-15.
The SVC does not have any stock here in Noida.
So, any Delhi/NCR guys, please help me get one.

Also, please suggest on WAX for the bike; as far as I know; there is nothing like Teflon coating for the bike; and most of the SVCs would use simple polish (which might be harsh for the paint in long run). Is there any option available in Delhi/NCR region or can it be done by myself.

          waiting for replies

          • Guys I missed the servicing by 15 days...It was due on 15 May and todays its 30th..

So if I go tomm and service my bike then will there be any problem?

Also tell me which oil should I use for my engine during 3rd servicing. I have done 3.5k Kms but completed 70 days after the 2nd servicing

PS : I used Yamalube Semi Synthetic in 1st Service and Yamalube Mineral Oil during 2nd service

What should I use for the 3rd?/?

Alll in all, a worthy purchase, would suggest it for all the r15 tourers as lubing the chain on tours becomes an issues without a permanent center stand.
How much did the center stand cost? Can i get it from the showroom?

                Thats quite odd.
It is advised by many people to use mineral oil for a few thousand kms before switching to semi-synthetic with an oil filter change.

                • I compared my r15 a couple of other R15's and observed the height of my ride is a lot lesser than others, What could have caused this? Really worried

                    How old is your bike??
                    Get your rear monoshock checked.
Probably had a bad impact or something of that sort.

Also have you overloaded the bike many time??
The weight limit is specified 199Kgs including passengers and luggage.
So if you happen to carry extra weight quite often, can affect the suspension causing it to sag.

                    Thats quite fair.
But highway runs can give better economy.
but rippin the bike is awsome fun so economy takes a back seat in those times.

Yep, do that and welcome yourself to the world of swirls, yes shampoo will really damage the colour of your bike, what nonsense! how can you advise to do this backwards?

                          1) Do not wipe your bike, let a little dust accumilate, it's really no big deal!
                          2) Wash you bike once a week, it's more than enough.
                          3) Thougherly rinse your bike with a hose pipe before washing.
                          4) Fill bucket of water, them add correct dosage of automotive shampoo at the correct ratio, do not make a thick lather, the shampoo will be specially formulated with lubricants to glide over the paint work. Use a sponge especiallly for washing cars/bikes.
                          5) Rinse your sponge after every wipe and squeeze many times, in a separate bucket of clean water and then dip in the shampoo water, do not squeeze, slap that goodness over your paintwork!
                          6) After washing rinse with a hose pipe.
                          7) Dry with a chamois or microfibre cloth.
                          8) Admire your ride, everyone is envious.

Alternatively you can ignore my above statement and do it desi style.

                          It's your call.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

I feel the same, when i park in office next to other R15s. But its worth getting the suspension checked once i suppose.

the bikes you compared with had stock tyres if not then may be because diffrent tyre alters the height i changed to zapper from stock height is increased.
also check the conditions of your tyre and others tyre sometimes more worn out tyre gives less height. atlast if all goes in vain go to yamaha SVC and get your chasis and monoshock checked
