Or should I revert to normal fuel? In that case would the engine have been affected by using high octane?
Using higher octane fuel will not damage the bike don't worry.
But it also wont give you any benefits of the higher octane because our bike wasn't designed for it.
So dont worry and use normal unleaded fuel.

i was on an empty highway and tried a top speed run
my bike is 950 kms old and i let go of the restrictions...

i took the bike upto 8500 in 4th and updhifted
then in 5th at WOT the RPS went down (how is this even possible) to 7500 and it reached around 100 kmph
and then in 6th at WOT it again went down to 6500 and refused to go up and spd decreased to around 97kmph
what is the reason i fail to understand.........
    plz help
For a top speed run i suggest you shift gears just before redline.
You can do approx 95Kmph in 3rd gear.
Also check your chain tension, air pressure in tyres etc.

    And about the RPM dropping.
That happens due to the gear ratios.
It is obvious that the revs will drop when you shift to a higher gear.
Also reverse is true. The revs will increase when you downshift.

So go ahead and next time shift gears just before 10500rpm and im sure the performance will be better.
    Cheers.

    • bt RPM was limiting at 6500 in 6th gear....
i just wouldn't go up even after opening the throttle to limit...
      that shouldn't happen i guess

This is perfectly normal. Just redline in 4th and 5th and then shift to 6th and see.

The 6th gear is overdrive and is very tall.
and to accelerate in this gear requires lot of power.
The bike peaks at about 8K to 8.5K
so at 6.5K there is not enough power i guess.
Just keep the revs higher and you will definately go faster.
            good luck

Go for the 300V FS 10W40. Been using almost for the past 20,000Kms( changing at 4500Kms-5000Kms) and stays really long and revs more freely through the band and blah..
AGIP is equally good too! Personal opinion...

I dont think these guys will let me bring my own engine oil. So do you guys change engine oil at a local shop?
Since you're done with Free Servicings, get your own bottle and ask them to pour it in. They shouldn't raise an issue. If you like getting a little dirty then DIY. It's as easy as lubing the chain.. or just take it to a decent garage and it can be drained and poured.

              • guys, I have a doubt. Pardon me if its stupid.
In the low beam, only the low beam bulb of te LHS lights up.
And the RHS has only the high beam bulb right??
And I read that many of you have put the RHS headlight also for low beam.
So when you switch low beam on, wont you actually be using the low beam bulb on LHS and high beam bulb on the RHS??

Don't get confused man. This is how it works.. BOTH LHS and RHS bulbs have high and low beam. Its just that there is no connection for the RHS low beam filament to work. Thats why if you want both headlights to light-up on low beam, its just a minor wiring modification.. The SVC will do it for you.

Yes, in stock configuration only the LHS lights up on low-beam and both LHS+RHS light up for high-beam.

Guess it's time to start gyming

Also, there is no metal bar protruding out of the left leg of the rx stand. Where do you apply pressure when you put the bike on the stand? Did you get another metal bar welded onto the rx stand?

I assume you had to get the bracket that holds the spring welded onto the right side of the rx stand. Am I right?
Well yes, in the beginning you do need to use a lot of strength but than you get habituated. Zero issues than

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Without any delay please rush to SVC and ask the mechanic check fuel pipes and your fuel injection system as well. This would solve the problem for sure.

Guess they thought people would use them like daytime running lights which many of us actually do.
