New Here!!
Hi all,
I have been following xbhp for nearly 3 years now but this is my first post.
I am getting the delivery of my first bike-the YZF R15 within a week and I am terribly excited
I wanted to know whether theres anything important I need to check during delivery.
Also is any accessory immediately required?? especially with regard to the center stand. Is it required??...
I am new to biking and hope you all understand my questions.
Thanks in advance.

With hardly any fuel in the tank.
So unless there are fuel pumping stations close by be sure to carry some fuel with you.
The side stand is an option which you can think about later.
Sure it is safer to park the bike on its main stand but adding this will spoil the fun that you will have cornering.
I suggest you keep the bike stock for a while.
Enjoy the riding.
If you feel it required, you can get a stand anytime.
Congrats on your purchase.

The illumination is great at night as well as day as I've used super bright LED's for this one.Originally posted by tibby View PostLooks really great!! How is the illumination in the dark & during the day?
Whats the cost of making it like? & lastly, can I get one?

I don't think there is such stupid kind of a rule, even I do the same. They are doing this just for those 150bucks which you pay for getting your chain cleaned and lubed. You should go to the other svc which doesn't come up with such stupid ideas of making money.Originally posted by chothibai View Posthiiiiii!!!!!20 days back,i went for my 3rd service and as usual i took my motul chain lube can with me....but to my suprise, the service guy told me that he will not spray my personal chain lube and informed me that he will spray the lube given from the company which evrybody knows is the same....he said its a rule issued by yamaha india and he cant help me....is there any rule regarding this because in my 2nd service the other service guy had no problem using my personal spray and in the 3rd this rule came out of nowhere....throw some light on this pals.thanks.My Stable.....

Nope living with this problem for now.
I went to Orion /motors and as expected, they said it was the tuning problem. They did something, but the problem was never solved. Have been busy with personal work, In a week or two I might visit Joel to get FF and BB kit. May be I will talk to him to see if he can guide me on this.Originally posted by autumnmoonlight View PostHey Buddy, did you happen to find any solution to this problem? My bike gave me the same trouble and I took it to the free servicing camp at Pearl Yamaha n they just cleaned the air filter n other stuff n complained that the petrol had water in it!! But changing the Petrol didn't help!!
BTW, I am from Hyderabad...any other hyderabad R15 owners facing the same problem?

Got the center stand fitted finally. It doesn't hit the road while leaning as seen on puksar's center stands and the bike is extremely easy to put on the center stand, earlier I was unable to put the bike on the rx stand by myself but I can put her on this one without even trying hard.
Alll in all, a worthy purchase, would suggest it for all the r15 tourers as lubing the chain on tours becomes an issues without a permanent center stand.

As per your queries:
1.- you need to get used to sitting posture and make sure that you dont put your body weight on your hands , which I think you doing resulting in wrist pain. Your body weight needs to be on your butt and thighs.
2.- What weird sounds are you hearing while downshifting??? be a little more specific it will help us to clarify the problem.
3.- From the SVC you can buy Motul Chain Lube and Cleaner it will be good. But before that you should know how to do it, as excessive lube on chain is also not good.
4.- Front disc will get sharper as the disc brake pads get used a bit.
5.- I think you havent read the bike manual, kindly do that for your own good. The run-in period is 1000kms. First 500kms at or below 5500rpm and next 500kms at or below 7000rpm. READ THE MANUAL bro
Thanks Shivanshu for the tips. I am trying your trick of sitting posture and glad that it works.
Regarding the sound I can't describe it completely but, we usually hear such sound in 100CC bikes specially when you are riding at higher speed and suddenly you down-shift.
Front disk are improving considerably now. Really tough to control yourself in running in period ....

Thats good brother I am happy that things are working for you. About the sound I am still insure which sound you talking about. But be sure to do your run-in properly and honestly and this bike can last very long but only if taken care of it. I hope you read the manual.
