I met with three accidents within this one year. One of them was major and other two were minor. But by Allah's grace i escaped in all three of them.
My realization after this year is really sad. My father and elder brother feel that they should not have brought me this bike. I feel like a loser that i am not expert enough to drive this bike. Sometimes even the thought of selling bike comes to my mind. But i love my bike very much.
So, I want to ask you: If any one has one or more accidents, does it mean that he is not fit enought for the bike???
I am really confused and sad. My confidence is down. Please give me suggestions so that i can drive safe and gain confidence in my driving.
You and I aren't all that different bro, I'd say exactly the same. I've had my bike for 12 months too and had 4 accidents in that time. 1 was my fault, braked too much on a gravelly road. 2 were situations a more experienced rider may have been able to tackle but I used to rely totally on braking in order to avoid a collision and not swerving out of the path, problem with this technique was on good roads, I was able to stop without any hassles, but where there was a bit of pebbles/sand on the road I fell face down. The last situation was one where no rider would've been able to avoid colliding, stupid car came out of a colony at 40-50kmph and stopped right in my path, did my best to brake but wasn't nearly enough, my bike almost ended wedged underneath the car.

As said my other members here, I'd too say that good braking is one weapon a rider must have in his arsenal. In real life situations, 60-0 timings are more important than 0-60 timings. I was not habitual of using the rear at all while braking, hence I used to stoppie a lot under heavy braking with or without pillion. If you're doing the same, try using a little of rear as well while braking, at first it will feel un-natural, hell I've been doing it for about 2 months now and the subconcious application of rear brake has started to come just now. But if I can do it, so can you.

Another thing that most rider neglect is engine braking. I find it the best way to really reduce your speed quickly. I personally have been doing it since the past 2 months on a regular basis and now I feel confident braking aggresively at 120+speeds. The best part about engine braking is, granted you go down only 1 gear at a time and let the clutch go while taking a feel from the rear, the rear won't lock up while the bike will deaccelerate quickly.

As of now, this is all the tips I can give you in order to become a better rider and be accident free. Let us know if you have any other area that you need input on.

Do not sell your bike and quit riding, fight back.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

I completely agree with that... 60-0 timings are more important... Braking is a very under-rated skill by new riders. If that's the problem you're facing, try perfecting your engine braking and rear-front braking techniques... You'll feel MUCH more confident believe me.

              • The front indicators are placed really low. That's a bit of a down and the rear fender is kinda the one pulsar 135. I think those are the only two drawbacks in looks I could see. The increased power might be due to the bigger tyre. So it might just feel a more stable bike. The faring also looks a bit different. It seems to be made of two pieces upper and lower piece. I have been waiting for the new bike since a very long time, some hope now. Any pics of the head light or other colours?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

don;t worry mate ... i too met with accidents on my R15 ..but everytime i learned valuable lessons

i think u also learned something from it ... all i say is .. with power comes a responsibility .. and a good rider is not one who steers his bike like toy .. but one who responsible enough to hold himself as to not cause problem from him and ppl around him ..

little patience ... little common sense ... little situation awareness ... and little respect for the machine .. can avoid accidents and make u a good rider..

                                remember it
