  • Vibrations in Front Disc

    Hi Guys,
I am encountering vibrations from the front disc while applying brakes when the bike is on potholes usually at high speed but has occured at slow speeds also. I think this probably happens when the front wheel is in the air for a split second when going above a pothole or bumps on the road. Is this normal??
Or is there a problem with the front disc or the alignment of the handle? Please advise.

has it always been as it is in your bike...???
don't you have problems starting it in cold conditions???
I dont know brother, but even at Rohtang Pass, my bike started in single push of the start button, after been parked for around 2hrs on top. never had any issues with climatic conditions which so ever I rode in, be it rains, chilling winters or summers.... touch wood. I am fine with it and since it is not having any adverse affect on my bike, I dont mind it....

Dont know about the potholes and braking.
but i would suggest that you get your disk checked for any warpage.
also inspect the pads for uneven wear if possible.

i feel all the guys who have a minda battery should get together and get their batteries replaced to tata green.

If yamaha does not replace it , sue them. Imagine taking a corner at 120 and the battery dies .

...?? what difference does it make if you are taking a corner at 120 and the battery dies..??? :

and what kind of problems are you facing with the battery??
i know the tata green is better, but the minda lasts long enough if you don't overuse it.. you must take the following precautions..
when the bike is in ignition (not on) then keep all the lights off ,switch off the headlight at traffic signals, don't honk too much, use the low beam, don't modify any component which uses the battery power..

Well, I don't think so this can ever happen due to the battery. At most, the bike will refuse the idle properly and shut off or most likely it will just refuse to start via the starter.

He pmed me&I replied. It is the spring over tautness making the sound. Other reason is maybe the rubber is of Gladiator, there is no specific rubber for R15.

@painreloaded: See if you can get a bigger rubber if the noise is irritating you. I live with it.

Is yours a Tata Green or Minda battery? Touchwood, my battery has also not given any problems till date. Only it took 3-4 attempts to start a few days back. That was because it was started after 1.5 months!

is it more like tak tak and Does it get louder with high revving ? If yes, its the tappets, get them adjusted

that looks nasty, i think you'll need to replace the tyre
Edit : Just curious, how did it happen ?

Well ideally you should wait for the idle RPM to come to the ideal range :P

On a more serious note, just dont start ripping her from the word go, be patient for a few minutes, idle rpm shouldn't be bothering much, take it easy !
