Sorry buddy, you know I don't have my old N79 anymore.Originally posted by tibby View Post& why so much delay for the pics!! Questions:
1. How much did the seat cover cost?
2. Where did you pick it from?
3. How comfortable is it?
4. Some kind of stitching involved, or it just slides onto the seat?
Anyway, the cover costed some Rs.250, I picked it up from Orion Yamaha, Bangalore. Grips also from the same place.
Seat cover is locally made, but they have put a Yamaha imprint on the sides&are selling it there itself. Grips are normal stuff.
It is comfortable enough&fits very well.
Fitting is just like any other bike's seat cover-they pull it around the seat&staple it underneath. Nothing special!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Ok here is my first review of the bike after 3 weeks and 867 kms!
Rode to Pondicherry a few days back. Every second of the ride was exhilarating and fun! No doubt in that. The bike responded well to all sorts of situations.
EngineGearshift: The gear shift is smooth. At times I wonder if the gearbox is filled with butter! :P The position of the toe shifter i feel is fine, in contrary to other reviews in which people feel the position of the shifter is a bit high. One needs to get used to this i guess.
HandlingBrakingEconomyNo its not about speed, its about turning and shifting those gears!

Did you check coolant level? if the coolant level is ok then its time to visit a Yamaha dealer as soon as possibleOriginally posted by krishkanthr15 View PostHey guys, I noticed that from a few days my R15's engine is getting heated up abnormally, that too after riding for just 10 minutes. One thing i noticed is that the radiator fan is not kicking in even though engine heat is untolerable ! The heat is becoming more and i am getting a kind of smell. Btw, engine oil was last changed 500kms ago. Never faced this issue before. Any ideas ?

I don't mind doing that, but then registration issues ? and if I drive back the bike till here, wont it cause any problem to the engine, doing ~200kms on its first drive ?Originally posted by Drifty View PostIf you can't wait for two months, then book your bike at the Yamaha Factory Shop,Wakdewadi,Pune. You will get the bike in maximum one month. My friend bought his R15 the same way.The only thing standing in your way, the ONLY thing you can count on, at any given time.. No registration issues at all buddy. You can register it at your place. My friend also did the same,he rode the bike from Pune to Mumbai by not going above 60km/hr.Infact,he got the bike at a very much lesser price @ Rs.1,02,500/- for the red colour.Although the registration charges, insurance & other charges went upto Rs.7000/ after that-.But, even though, that's a descent price. But this was a few months ago, dont know the current price.Contact the pune showroom.Originally posted by burninrubbr View PostI don't mind doing that, but then registration issues ? and if I drive back the bike till here, wont it cause any problem to the engine, doing ~200kms on its first drive ?

Ya,they will charge some 350 bucks for that temp no. & all that registration thingy. No cop problem. When, you bring the bike, you will have to get your bike registered from the RTO on your own.But that's not much an issue.Originally posted by burninrubbr View Post^^ Thanks a lot man ! 1. Are your tappets loose??? If yes get it corrected n also check the engine mounting bolts for vibration (there are three of them).Originally posted by free2rock_50 View PostI am going to get my 3rd service done pretty soon. 2. Change of engine oil will most probably solve this problem. Also lube your chain if it isn't.
3. Whats your idle RPM? It happened with me too. In my case the idle RPM was too low.

Vibrations will be gone after tightening all the fairings and the engine mounting bolts...oil change should take care of the roughness..Originally posted by free2rock_50 View PostI am going to get my 3rd service done pretty soon. What do you mean by engine stops..?? Does it switch off completely?? Or is your bike misfiring..?? If first case then ask svc to check the spark plug cap..search the thread for details ... if the second case then it could be because of improper fuel.. go to svc ASAP... clean the injectors and drain the fuel tank and add fresh fuel..also clean the spark plug..
Do you run your bike on low fuel...??after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

A Little Help here
Guys,
These days gear shifts are kind of irritating because there is this sound which comes when the gear engages. and its diff to come from 1st to 2nd gear. a touch lighter than usual it will goto neutral.
What is the prob actually? The SVC guys dont respond properly. 2 services have been done so far and gear shifting issues wont be there but occurs after some days of service.
And one more question. what should i use to remove the front sprocket cover? a regular 4 way spanner will do?
Thanks!
