I have installed HID's on my R15, I've managed to fix 1 of the ballast under the tank and the other 1, I fixed towards the left side, as shown in the pic. the problem is that ballast has stopped working and I'm pretty sure that's because of the engine's heat, the bulb is fine as I checked it with the other 1.

You shouldn't have kept the Ballast there. Regardless, keep one of the ballast behind your speedometer. Remove your Windscreen/Visor and under the small black panel. Should Fit perfectly.Originally posted by hellbreaker46 View PostI have installed HID's on my R15, I've managed to fix 1 of the ballast under the tank and the other 1, I fixed towards the left side, as shown in the pic. the problem is that ballast has stopped working and I'm pretty sure that's because of the engine's heat, the bulb is fine as I checked it with the other 1.

Check for the chain freeplay, if any screeching sound is coming from the chain i think it's because of the chain touchig the swingarm(the place is slightly raised it is towards the inner side of the swing arm near the rear suspension) because of the dust accumulated.Originally posted by jairaman12 View Postcan anyone....

disc pads...
hello everyone....
yamaha doesnt seem to improve any bit in their service records or their spare parts provision....my bikes DISC PADS, both the front and the rear (the front ones seem to ave some life for now) are worn out... i reside in hyderabad and there is no service station of yamaha that i havent visited...everyone out there says they are out of stock and they will be available in around 3 months time, some say 15 days and some say that yamaha has STOPPED producing the disc pads
well i ve been riding with a fully worn out rear disc pads for days...i cant keep the bike aside because of my exams which are going on at present.... the manager in one SVC has asked me to go for a LOCAL one or keep the bike at home or stop using it since they might not be available for days or even months...
im in a bitter dilemma now....i cant risk spoiling the disc plates...well should i go for the local ones?????
and btw local shops are selling the pads for 450inr or even more which actually costs about 200...this is annoying me very much and even the response of the svc is pathetic.....please put some light on my query..( should i go install the local disc pads????)
regards

Xbhpians like us should not be annoyed in this kind of simple situations.
This sort of scarcity is often found. If you didn't find any disc pads around your place, you can absolutely go for local ones than to destroy your brake discs. What do you think, compromising discs for few amount of money? Heck, NO! Please, go for local pads, and replace them as soon as you get from Yamaha.

I have 2 ballast fitted near the radiator on the both sides. Fixed to the black panel near the radiator using double sides tape.Originally posted by hellbreaker46 View PostI have installed HID's on my R15, I've managed to fix 1 of the ballast under the tank and the other 1, I fixed towards the left side, as shown in the pic. the problem is that ballast has stopped working and I'm pretty sure that's because of the engine's heat, the bulb is fine as I checked it with the other 1.

I did not fit it anywhere near the engine. Its in the inner side of the fairing near to the radiator. There is ample space there.Originally posted by hellbreaker46 View PostWon't the engine heat do any harm to it?? Did you do the same way I did??Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Have you checked in Shah motors, KingKoti (04024752349) , they keep a good stock. I myself was told by SVC to check there. You may find there ... Best of LuckOriginally posted by saikrishna0506 View Posthello everyone....

Faced similar issue with Pearl Yamaha Kondapur. This SVC is always short of spares... Be it a disc pad or any screw. However, SVCs in Ranigunj and Dilsukhnagar normally stock most of the spares. I was lucky enough to get all the spares at these two SVCs whenever I needed them. Check their spares department by giving a callOriginally posted by saikrishna0506 View Posthello everyone....

The reason its Out of Stock is because they get the Disc pads from Japan. And due to the damage caused out there they are not able to Export.Originally posted by saikrishna0506 View Posthello everyone....
